What Happened to Art's: Back to Local

- As many of you may have noticed, the option to shop online at Art's Cyclery disappeared in late 2018. As of October 1st, 2018 we decided to pull away from online sales and focus on our local customers. We ditched large investors and are now owned 100% by riders. In this video we highlight what we're all about and introduce the staff and owners that keep the fire alive at Art's Cyclery.

Ask a Mechanic taught me a great deal about caring for my bikes, will always be grateful.
You were one of the best On-Line shops with video content and info I ever used... You will be missed here in PA... Best of luck with the local crew...
Thanks Richard!
I really missed the ask a mechanic videos! Really happy I didn't delete the subscription. Glad you're back in a much more sustainable environment.
Just got back into riding and found this, I will miss you guys. Best of luck in the future and thanks for looking out for the customer.
Thanks Dominick, we may not be selling online anymore, but we will still be knocking out videos and we will still be here to support the customers that have supported us over the years!
Been shopping Arts since it first opened. Will stop by next time in SLO.!
Amazing video, it really captures dedication to biking. Good luck on your new journey!
Thanks, we really appreciate the support!
I think what you are doing is great... I would just love to see the videos come back. They were such a great resource!
Hi Thomas, we have some things in the works...stay tuned. Also out of curiosity, which types of videos were the most helpful? All of the "Ask a Mechanic Style Videos"?
Yes. Won’t you make them anymore?
Congrats to all of you! ❤
@Warren Azusa, thanks a bunch!
I always enjoyed the repair videos, ordered several times off the website .. I'm in Los Angeles .. other wise never known or art's .. local is cool, sad to see slot of bikes shops closing

Congrats, and good luck.
Thanks!
I love you Art!

props and many years of good luck to you guys................p iii
I found this out yesterday when I was in search of some upgrade parts.
you mean.. "arts"..?
Love it. Resurrect the LBS!!!
😃👍
Sick edit bro!
Thanks homie!
So all of the people who made the videos I used to watch here are gone?
Hi Evan, we carried over our mechanics and our marketing team. We still plan to put out content on the regular, just without the corporate control over the direction of our company. Being a rider owned company is something we feel will be better for all of our customers. Online shopping isn't available now, but it's hopefully in our future!
Righteous. I'm gonna hit your trails in late Sept./early Oct. Got any local intel you can lay on me?
Girls trail
Ditch large investors---good. Sell to me? Impossible!
Sounds like suicide but good luck.
Thanks Chris. For us, Ecommerce was suicide, we tried to make it for over 10-years but the race to the lowest price isn't what we're about. We're about supporting the customers that support us. Now that Art's is a rider-owned company, we're able to provide that. It currently isn't something we can offer beyond our local market, but in due time we aim to have some online offerings.
