IUCN Green List in Malaysia

The IUCN Green List standard was globally introduced in 2014. In 2017, it was initiated in Malaysia to recognise the effective management of Protected and Conserved Areas. The Sugud Islands Marine Conservation Area (SIMCA) is the first Green List site in Malaysia that is globally recognised as a well-managed Protected Area but it certainly won't be the last as many other potential sites are currently working towards this standard.
