    As I have one of these irons I have been contemplating this issue my suggested solution is a relatively straight forward one. You could use resistors to make a voltage divider and use a switch to manually change the output between 24v and 12v.

      That's exactly what I was when I saw your comment ........ I'll get to work

    OK, I have just received my Jabe UD-1200! from the menu I found the updated day to be 01/08/2019 and software version is V2.1.1. The only difference I found compared with your one is the English menu only. I have also opened the box and checked the iron pins which are pretty much the same as yours (three pins connected only).

      Okay, thats good to know. I still use my Jabe iron as my daily driver for general soldering and its still great. I'm sure you'll enjoy yours too :-)

    I think this a important deciding factor between JBC and JABE.

      Absolutely agree. The JBC has the flexibility here. I haven't seen any clone which offers the use of both 210 and 245 handpieces.

    Thanks for video.
    What you think about TEC and similar extension modules. can you try if they work good with Jabe?
    As they also have variant supporting NT115, very nice tiny handle.
    Also check YOUYUE 3600 station (newer with double handles), in description it actually has 2210 (chinese variant of 210) connection option (and also AP130 gun).

    Can you try putting a DC to DC buck converter between the station and the T210, I wonder if they use the same thermocouple

    • @the_equalizor
      @the_equalizor  Před 4 lety

      Slot1Gamer That wouldn’t work. Iirc the JBC cartridges are fed a sinewave (ac from the transformer I think) and the thermistor in the handle is read during the zero volts crossover on the sine wave. You can’t use a buck on pulsed dc or ac. It’s interesting that I’ve seen some 3rd party JBC compatible controllers that run off of dc and even those don’t support the 210. There’s something special about it I guess but no idea what. I mean if JBC can do it, why can’t the clones?

    maybe need try down station power on settings to 70-75 Watt for t210 tips? you can try it?)

    • @the_equalizor
      @the_equalizor  Před 4 lety +1

      Nope, dosnt work, already tested. Someone else has told me that those two bridged pins put the station into 12v output instead of 24v that the T245 tips use, so no, reducing the wattage wont help.

    With the c245 and c425 cartridges in place, could you measure resistance between 1 and 2 in T245 and 1-2-6 in T210? please, thanks

    • @the_equalizor
      @the_equalizor  Před 4 lety

      I'm sorry but I'm not revisiting this yet again. The Jabe station iron doesn't have pin6 connected, so it cannot support the 210 handles/tips.

    can you use any hot tweezers?

    Maybe the 210 tips is not on 24V like C245 is..also in case of C470 tips, they are on 48v.

    • @the_equalizor
      @the_equalizor  Před 4 lety +1

      Vasiliu Daniel yep, that’s what I say at the beginning of the video. A couple of Russian hardware guys have said that’s the case and I think that makes a lot of sense given that the 210 cartridge gets way too hot when plugged into this station.

      The Equalizor, but original JBC station wich work with T245 handle, work also with T210 handle and C210 cartdrige??
