Trust mid mount manifold
3” shotgun style exhaust
*This was before car went for tuning*
Never needed something more than this idle sound on my S13 😍
aint no way this a rotary at this point
it literally sounds like half a muscle car, that's so cool
Half of 8 is 4 😎
@@_yungfrankz source??
I love everything about this car, the wing, the wheels, the fitment, sunroof, rhd, like bro I would sell my car so fast for this
do it
I know this vid is for the cam but I can’t help but admire your catch can setup
Sounds just like my ka when it was on 3 cylinders lmao
Love it. Cool to see another s13 with hurricanes
I like that pool of oil on the floor at the beginning.
That’s from a Eunos Roadster
that lumpy sound is an eargasm :3
This is what my sr sounded like after I did my rockers, was off a tooth with my Tomei cams. Then it went back to normal idle after I fixed it
I have finally copied your set-up. Sounds similar, not as lumpy now it's tuned. I also funny enough, have the same wheels you have on the front 😂 just about to throw on a GTX3076 turbo with a ramhorn high mount manifold.
All 4 cylinders in the world should idle like this.
My first DSM with HKS 264/272 sounded like this with slightly less chop and pop.
Sounds great CAD18DET might be another good power plant for these chassis.
CA18DET came in the very early year S13s, not sure how many of them are around these days though. Great little motor but everyone swapped them out to the SR or RB
@@benridesbikes6975 only the 180sx though
@@evancraig11 wrong early silvia Ks came with them to
Minervas 😍
it sounds like RX7 XD
Yeah brap3
No its FD😂

@@upthecartel8725 you are the one that didn’t get it bruh🤦♂️
Or a harley davidson
Simple, get Stage 3 272’s or higher and you’ll sound insane... never needed to swap any other engine into a Silvia. KA gets a pass in the states, but SR20’s period and CA’s belong inside a body of a Silvia. 240 bandwagon dorks dont know the true history of the SR series engines.
Yes Sr20det all the way
I have a 240 and it's SR tho...
6 grand tho. I just bought an RB25DET
Srs sound better in the Silvia then rbs aswell hate when people rb swap them
@@NZSPEC why?
that s13 looks epic
Upload more of this car
that one person: "you did a 13B swap?"
when I get my next SChassis, I plan on bringing it to Abstract for the works. :)
Luv it
Soooooo gooooood
It’s like a little Rottweiler 🤙🤙👍
Super nice ride. Who makes the exhaust tips you uave on there I like the angle.
is that the full motor build in the description ?
Yes, it’s a very simple setup
Hi! Hard question, What do you recommend is the overall best exhaust/set up for the sr20/s13 platform?
Exhaust setup as in from the manifold to the rear of the car? It really depends on your driving style, what sounds you like, etc.
@@GarageAbstract that was a wacky question lol. It's never an end-all answer really
🥵🥵
Sounds sick! Is there any benefit of using bigger cam on the exhaust??!
Jan Rambousek Staggered cams increase power through the whole powerband from around 4K upward. You won’t see a peak like matched cams, but the powerband will be broader
@@GarageAbstract I have an s15 sr20det in my s13 and want it to sound like this lol. Do I need to do anything to the bottom end or is it pretty safe to use these cams with a stock head and bottom?
Daniel Lee Stock bottom end is fine to run with these cams, that’s what we have in this car. You do need stiffer valve springs, and upgraded valve spring retainers. This car has HKS springs and Tomei retainers
@@GarageAbstract Sweet, thanks for the reply! I will add those to my list haha. Love your s13 btw!
@@daniellee100 if your motor is non vvt it can sound like this
can i know what size are your head gasket?
whats the difference between IN and EX
IN (Intake) and EX (Exhaust) camshafts
@@GarageAbstract ty
sounds like mu 1.9 tdi
Why is it that the idle kind of “jumps”? If you understand what I mean
The product of big camshaft in engines is called valve overlap. It’s when the intake and exhaust valves are open at the same time during rotation. This is what creates that idle sound you’re hearing. Valve overlap is what takes advantage of the scavenging effect of the engine/exhaust system. This creates more power in high RPM, but makes the low end sluggish. Great for race cars, but not so great for daily/street cars due to the decreased drivability
@@GarageAbstract oh wow, okay! Than you for a serious answer, I was expecting people to start bashing on me for not knowing🥲
How many HKS high lift cams do you use?
All of our cars use HKS high lift cams. This specific car uses IN:264 EX:272 Stagger
@@GarageAbstract what does the stagger do?
@@GarageAbstract yeah what does the stagger do?
wheel size and offset in rear?
TideShift Those were 18x9 with low low offset. I can’t remember the number, I’ve gotten rid of them now
Who needs a rotary?
rx7 ?
18 or 19 Minerva’s in the rear?:)
18’s !!
@@GarageAbstract they look perfect!! I’ve been considering going staggered for my stock body Silvia!
@@cgaige Can’t beat a good staggered setup
Do i need tune with high lift cams?
Yes, we recommend you get a tune with any camshaft upgrade
You'll always need a tune to take full advantage of any mods you make
In the eyes of the ECU, it just has stock cams so doesn't Adjust timing, afr, or anything
Thats just overlap.... can spread out the lobes to get more mids
Bro made an rotary out of SR
exhaust mani?
Trust mid mount
This thing sounds aggressive as fuck
Wheels?
SSR Agle Minerva
I like the fake exhaust tip
The car had an ISR exhaust on it at the time. The dual tip is split evenly and everything is connected. It must have been the way the exhaust was bent, causing more exhaust flow through the left tip. Not a fake exhaust tip
not how a sr should be. That sounds like muscle car...
FasterCrow Video was taken before tuning was done. Sounds much different now! We also have videos of other SR exhaust notes if you’re interested!
Technically sounds like a deep rotary, not a V8
That's interesting it idled before tuning, did it run well too? Also was curious on how it sounds after the tune and at a high level what did you tune?@@GarageAbstract
