And running with that idea, what will the Chaos Gods reaction be once they're aware of Sauron; will they be impressed by the evil he radiates, take notes from him, or simply tremble in fear once they realize they are gazing at someone who can best them all in every way?

I love the woman narrating. It sounds like Galadriel if she took the ring. And I love how it starts out solemnly, weakened, and helpless but gradually becomes more powerful, despotic, malicious. As if she, like the chaos dwarfs before her, is becoming less of a abandoned and lost soul and more of a pose hungry and malevolent warlord in real time.
Ah, Chaos Dwarfs... they literally only appeared for a single edition, with the entirety of their lore and army being during 4th edition, and yet they truly made an impact. Prior to that, they were just dwarfs touched by Chaos - they didn't even get bull centaurs until 4e; they had *boar*-centaurs in 3e, when they were a supplement for Chaos armies.
Who cares CA has done more for warhammer fantasy than GW since 2013. Theres a reason GW is making the old world, its because CA made Fantasy 10x more interesting to audiences than age of shitmar ever was.
They have such a strong design. No one really plays a lot with persian/babylonian designs in fantasy, especially in Warhammer so when they use those elements with a faction thats already very conceptually interesting it makes for an awesome foundation to expand on. Unfortunately like you brought up, they just havent. Honestly idk why or how the chaos dwarfs didnt pick up steam in later additions, maybe it was the way they played on TT, i wouldnt know..
That's not true at all. They had an armybook in 4th, were included in hordes of chaos in 5th, had a list and a load of new models in 8th. They also had some older stuff from 3rd
I like how Total War: Warhammer III did forces that Warhammer Fantasy hardly touched on or didn't have minis for some justice, such as the Vampire Coast and Cathay. Enjoyed the Chaos Dwarfs in Warhammer II mods, looking forward to seeing the official interpretation of these guys.
Looking forward to the Chaos Dwarfs, just once they've been made fun by modders after this releases. Of any DLC since the Grim and the Grave, this is easily the lowest effort one, and somehow also the most expensive released yet. I gave up tabletop a long time ago, but I will enjoy playing the Chorfs once SFO makes it fun.

A lot of the things I expected to be flawed were, like reusing models and animations, but the sound design did a really good job on this one at least. From the mixture of industrial ambient music to ancient sumerian and babylonian chords, the unique dawi/greenskin language they speak, and the campaign map redesign were all better than i expected. best W:TW dlc though? I wouldn't say so. I could easily see it being considered one of the better ones. but bringing up the opinions of people, by definition interested in the game doesn't make much sense. Of course die-hard W:TW players will get it, they enjoy the game enough that it'll be worth it, but for the fence-sitting customer wasn't nearly as hyped. I'd really like to see more mechanics over factions in the future though. I assume because of GW's litigious nature, modding tools are fairly limited, at least compared to other total war installments. Adding in a reload animation has now allowed modders to create unique animations for all different ranged units now, and that's what I'm excited for more than anything.

God, this makes me want to see a rework of the regular Dwarfs so bad. As it stands, the only Dwarf Strategy right now is a shield wall in front of artillery and waiting until the enemy dies. It'd be cool to see more depth to the anti-magic aspect of vanilla Dwarfs, or a slayer-focused build be... well, allowed to exist. Still, that Chaos Dwarfen industry calls out to me...

just be careful praying to Hashut. the price for his power is that every use slowly turns you to stone bit by bit. The dwarf in the walker legs is Astragoth Ironhand and while he is a high priest to Hashut, he needs those legs because he is stone from at least the waist down.

It's not magic, they just tweaked a bunch of options to make a weird sound. Don't be so easily impressionable. Simulating real sounds is harder.
