I like this. I feel like dealing with drones can be a sudden spike in difficulty if you aren't prepared so this would function nicely as a tiny stepping stone.
Now we need a way to make friendly bots & a way to interact with them. Maybe even have engineer-skinned ones. Imagine flying around, seeing a trade ship, using an antenna to hail them to which they stay stationary for a while, and then you can connect grids & trade just like you do on a space station. You could even add a chance element of successful hailing which is influenced by your standing. Or maybe, give the Space Pirate Maydays quests, like repairing their ship for them/offloading cargo for them, and in return you get standing with them, and can become friendly with them. Honestly, if there were ways to implement more complex interactions, and have those have consequences, this game could be SO MUCH better.
@@yamatokurusaki5790 You can. The AiEnabled mod lets you build a bot that builds what you place, or a bot you can command to follow or guard and such and will fight.

Isn’t there a mod like this where it’s like robot versions of the engineer characters?? Or is this that mod? And if so, can you have your own ai soldiers because of that essentially??
Worst thing that I have dealt with was digging a tunnel straight down for a gold coordinate so I can drill into the side of a mountain with my ship was a squad of these decided to join me... wish they took fall damage even if not a lot. Getting my stuff back was a nightmare as I did not have any assault weapons before this and the pistol did not seem to do all that much damage to them.
So this is different than the AiEnabled mod, where you can build a repair/combat drone, and a spawner that spawns random droids (zombies, droids, etc). Is the Robot Raider Pod able to be randomized and set on a very low frequency? Every 10min might be a bit much if you're just starting out, so having them only come in randomly and not super often would be good. Also, is this something that can be on a dedicated server that hits each player randomly? Or will it spawn on each player at the same time? I take it they dont spawn in zero gravity, and theres only one type of droid..?
i remember working on a hydrogen tank when one of these bastards dropped on me, hitting the tank in the process, and nuking the tank farm i was building to fuel larger ships in a server at $600 a large tank filled completely. i lost 20 large ships and ended up having to give my base to the server admin because of this responsibility system and the fact that whenever i tried explaining what had happened, they played a video of ben shapiro falling down a flight of stairs.
I can't get the pods to spawn (The zombies and Ghosts from the Victims of Klang mod work fine) and its starting to piss me off to be honest and Lucas is NO help (multiple posts about it and he wont respond but he responds to everyone else) when you ask on the mod page because he's a bit of a prick when it comes to issues with his mods and ignoring error reports like he has done in the past..

@@kubel83 yeah it really socks that Xbox players can't experience the game like PC can, especially now with the Series X being on par with mid lvl gaming PC. Good NPC infrastructure built into SE would really propel it from a more build oriented game to being a much better version of Emperion.

The new AI mod does offer friendly helper bots and even robo dogs from what I've seen.

This mod is acutally cool .
I would like to some modifications to these.
Land on all planets.
Change enemy types and numbers.
Would those changes be possible?
I wonder if decoy blocks attract them?

Should work, all the other random encounter mods seemed fine on a non dedicated server.

The unfortunate answer is no, because of scripting. If Keen ever does make good Ai NPC's then you will have that.
