    Thanks for the video. I have one that is labeled Diplomat, that was my grandmothers. I can now successfully run a stitch with it. It is in near perfect shape except for the box. I will rebrush the motor and make a new box out of oak or maple.

    The clarity of the video is excellent as well as the different positions that the video is positioned which is every angle; also very clear on where to oil. Thank you, thank you so much 👏

    Nice video. Thank you.
    My boyfriend's 97 yo Japanese mom has a vintage Modern Home "Precision" Deluxe Modern home sewing machine made in Japan. (motor says Universal, Model 20, made in USA.) At a glance the machine looks complete but needs a new drive belt and does have slight rusting in places. Getting ready to take it to my local sewing machine repair guy for a look-see and servicing and will hopefully get her up and running. If you have any info on this machine let me know.
    *I think your green machine in the background that you panned to for a second might be the same machine as mine.

    The only thing plastic on mine is the bobbin winder & i don't even think that's plastic & it uses the same type of bobbin as my industrial , its very well built

    Is there a diagram or a video showing how to reassemble the tension knob. I took it apart and there was an extra piece in there that I’m not familiar with so now I can’t figure how to put it back. Thanks

    I wonder if you can help me with a machine my nephew gave me? I don't know how to connect with you other than commenting here? the machine has labels that say 'Alphasew' and "Heavy Duty', I'm not sure what it is, but I need help with the tension, threading it and the bobbin. Please let me know if we might be able to connect? and how?

      Sorry, I'd not do that. The shellac might degrade in time and take the decals with it.

    I think you skipped a step on your threading. I think it goes behind and over that bar to the right of the tension discs and then through the spring to the take up lever.
    Which model of Singer is this a clone of?

    So it seems the stitch is working, but now the wheel is making noise and the wheel doesn't want to turn, and it seems to want to spark. How do we fix that. The pulley seems hard now. Any ideas on what I can do, check the motor?

    • @sewcreativedesigns51
      @sewcreativedesigns51 Před 2 lety +1

      Check the inside knob on the hand wheel on the end of your machine. The one you loosen when you wind a bobbin. Also check if the bobbin winder is engaged or not to wind bobbins instead of stitching. It won’t stitch if it is loosened off for winding bobbins.

    • @candycottrell6469
      @candycottrell6469 Před 2 lety

      Make sure you have a new needle inserted, double check your threading and that the bobbin is correctly threaded, then feel on the stitchplate where the needle goes in that it is nice and smooth and no burrs that thread would be catching on. Also be sure to use new thread, no old stuff.

      When you start to sew you need a long thread tail and hold the threads for a few stitches. If thread comes out after sewing, you have not threaded the machine correctly.

  • @shawnvanhorn3754
    @shawnvanhorn3754 Před 2 lety +2

    This isn't exactly correct, this machine is missing the bobbin spool pin... it should have a pin by the bobbin winder the spool is placed on... you don't wind bobbins from the top.

  • @toniwilson8212
    @toniwilson8212 Před 3 lety

    If it uses an industrial bobbin , it is an industrial machine , my industrial machine uses the exact same type of bobbin as my Japanese Style Crest & it has no plastic parts except the bobbin winder on it is the only plastic part

    • @AniaProts
      @AniaProts  Před 3 lety +2

      There is a lot more to a machine for it to be industrial. This is not an industrial grade though some of these happen to cross with industrial bobbins.
