    The 3-2 Buckeyes host the 4-1 Spartans on Ohio State's Homecoming Game in 2005. The Buckeyes struggled through most of the first half, but were saved by special teams disaster by Michigan State. Afterwards, the Buckeyes finally pulled through in the 4th quarter to seal the 35-24 victory.
    AJ Hawk also had 19 tackles this game.

    You can see the instant Ginn realizes there's nothing but open grass in front of him (and nobody is catching him from behind). And you can hear the crowd realize it too :) 3:48

    Bucks lost that heartbreaker to Texas in game two at home and then at Penn St. in game five, but getting this win really put a spark into them, and I think they played as well as anyone in the country the rest of the season.

    Go Bucks I remember I was watching this when I was 8, and my dad was ticked off sparty kept driving.. but Ginn and Holmes, and the block really helped us come through with the W, and a share of the 2005 big ten championship!!

      @@andygygi5135 what are you talking about? PSU finished with a better record than Ohio State in 2005 by virtue of winning the tie breaker by beating Ohio State head to head. Therefore, PSU would've gone to the title game. LOL moron.

      @@FervAnimalLover Kinda quick with the childish name calling there, bud. Penn State would have gone on to play OSU a second time in said conference championship. Divisions weren’t a thing yet and OSU finished 2 games ahead of 5-3 Wisconsin. Doesn’t exactly take a genius to see they would have played each other in this fictitious game.

    It's been so long that I don't remember, but the Buckeyes did not score from the one yard line in the 4th quarter after recovering that fumble? How did that happen??

    • @andygygi5135
      @andygygi5135 Před 3 lety +2

      They said that he didn’t fumble. Ruled him down on the sack. That’s why Sparty was 4th and 27 in the next frame. Kind of a questionable call.

    I'm on a kick watching the John L. Smith era for MSU. Just makes me sick how soft the program was during his tenure. Blowing leads and giving away points. Makes me appreciate what we have right now. So happy with the current STATE of my beloved Spartan program. Thank you for hiring Mark Dantonio to once again instill the toughness that is Spartan football.

    Watched this game in Kuwait on AFN. After that field goal debacle, I went back to my bunk. Told the Buckeye fans this game is over. I was so mad.
    Drew Stanton was one of best QB's ever to play in the B1G this millennium. No development. No coaching. No support. And still had a long career in the NFL as a quality backup.
    Credit Mark Dantonio with getting rid of consistently dumb football in East Lansing after Duffy. Even with Nick Saban there, the Spartans still would play dumb.

    That kicker for Michigan State, who's name will never be uttered from my mouth, had no business in the B1G much less be the back up kicker for a GLIAC team. He was AWFUL.
    And MSU's coaching staff should've been fired after that game. Why they let JLS stick around for another year I will never understand. That entire coaching staff was putrid.
    MSU had the players to beat OSU on that day but poor coaching and kicking did them in, plus Stanton and his foibles as well. Stanton had all the physical tools but he could make boneheaded mistakes at the worst times.
