What is Bridesmaids (2011) about?
From the producer of Superbad, Knocked Up and The 40-Year-Old Virgin comes the breakout comedy critics are calling "brazenly hysterical!" (Alynda Wheat, People) Thirty-something Annie (Kristen Wiig) has hit a rough patch but finds her life turned completely upside down when she takes on the Maid of Honor role in her best friend Lillian's (Maya Rudolph) wedding. The role that turned Melissa into a bonefide movie star, and nabbed her an Oscar nomination. She arguably stole the entire movie from the leads.
eh she's sorta got no range though she always acts as this character in some way
@@liftbread Absolutely but this was my first time seeing her in anything so it worked wonderfully and she really did steal every scene she was in.
@@liftbread is that a problem with her acting or is it a problem with her being typecast? There are some awesome actors who just get stuck playing the same roles because it suits them and audiences like it

@@liftbread Not really she’s done other dramatic roles and inhabited different characters showcasing her range like in Can You Ever Forgive Me?, Super Intelligence, and Nine Perfect Strangers. It’s just her comedies that have been big blockbuster hits so it seems like that’s all she does, but it’s not true.
The funniest part is "not air marshal john" is her husband
This was a Oscar's nominated performance. For a comedy, this was a BIG deal. Couldn't stress that enough
The final clip where Melissa's character, Meghan, states how frustrated she is to hear Annie speak of having no friends when Meghan is directly in front of her, showing Annie support & acting as an amazing friend, AFTER Annie ignored several calls from Meghan previously! Just wow. Sometimes, we make ourselves into islands and we truly are our own worst enemies. We have to realize that we all have someone or a pet right in front of us, waiting to support & love us. ❤
Megan showed true friendship right there!
At first I thought Meghan's character was obnoxious (but funny), but yeah that intervention she had with Annie really made her my favorite.

“Pins in my legs, I can still do this.” You knew right from the first scene that she was going to kill this movie.
Iconic film, iconic performance. So happy she got Oscar-nominated for this.
Her pep talk was done so well I wonder if there was, at least, a sliver of truth about her own life in it.
