You can face the backyard alone or together, online, with up to three friends. Not only that, but with the Shared Worlds feature, you can continue to play in your shared world even if the original host is not on, with all your progression saving!
Nowhere is safe - not even your base!
Creatures can be found roaming the yard in a multitude of environments, such as the depths of the pond, the caverns of the termite den, and even the sweltering heat found in the sandbox. You can even attract them to different places in the yard by activating the MIX.R devices. However, the more you interfere with the creatures in the yard, the higher the chance that they come knocking at your own door, so you better prepare.
Play true to your playstyle!
Use the in-game customization systems such as Mutations and Milk Molars to activate the bonuses and perks you want for your character. Not only that, but craft and upgrade your armor and weapons to give your character the stats and advantages you need in order to take on the perils of the backyard.

If you block (right click) in the right moment you "perfect parry" taking no damage, and if you perfect parry, you dont get poisoned by spiders.
Edit: Bratburst is the explosive, the ant eggs are in red anthill and haze fungus is from killing infected bugs

@@idontknow5148 Stock up on Candies and smoothies and max out your armor and weapons. Also, make sure you feed all 3 ant queens a delicious meal and collect every single milk molar. Do not enter NG+ until you do these things. 👌😁
Grounded is such an overlooked game. It's one of the best survival games out there and I love watching you play it :D
Your mutation "Natural Explorer" deactivates whenever you enter combat...then reactivates shortly after combat.
That's why you keep getting that feeling of moving slower.
Watching him run around and fight bugs in a clover poncho and fuzzy slippers, lol.

The intended order for the main story is:
Oak Tree Lab ---> Hedge Lab ---> Pond Lab ---> Haze Lab ---> Black Anthill Lab
Keep in mind that, in addition to the Super Tech Chips (story chips), there are also BURG.L chips that will provide you with additional crafting recipes that will make your life in the Backyard generally easier.
First time i played this game I avoided the pond for far too long. Lol same reason Butch is avoiding it. Made it so hard on myself 😅

Just started watching this one. Dew collector and the canteen are 100% worth it.
Ok so the aphid slippers boost your speed while out of combat, but slow you down during combat, and so does the natural explorer mutation
Those don't slow you down, they turn off.
Break the spider egg sacks for extra bug parts (Usually how I get my first ladybug head). Build a weevil trap for shield material, 4 corner-clover roofs and 4 angled clover roofs with white mushroom dropped in the middle of the square made of roofs. need a spinner or 5, place liquid storage containers under the juice straw drips to collect them long term.
Don't forget to "peep" creatures so u know what their weaknesses are!

Unfortunately for you (funny for us) the pond lab is the next easiest to complete. Haze lab is doable but you might wanna do some gear upgrades first
also: you have multiple hotbars, brother! Use your scrollwheel!
Usually what I do with stink bugs when I start a new game is you can lure them to the red ant hill one at a time and bait the soldier ants to start attacking it. Once they kill the stink bug then you can loot it as well as all the ants it will kill. Easiest way to get the parts early on. Once you get the red ant armor from all the parts you don't even have to worry about the soldier ants attacking you if you do it a few more times. Plus all the dead ants will cause more eggs to spawn.
I know your probably not going to see this and or have already figured this out, but I haven’t seen anyone mention this but there are two different types of weapon/armour level/tiers. In a previous video you leveled up an axe to level 1 with the smithing station, this station will only increase damage and durability(weapons) or defence and durability (armour), what you want is tier 2 tools. When looking at any weapon or armour in the game you will see a little symbol? That shows either I, II or III, these are tiers you will need to kill lots of different bugs to craft these but a good idea would be to look in the crafting menu at the weapons tab, there should be some items with a red/orange icon with the number II these are your tier 2 items
Yes. There is an order to the chips.
- hedge
- pond
- haze
- black ant
This is not a solid order. You can get any at anytime but its more a hey these early ones are easier. Just know you will need/want to return to labs later on...
The black ant and haze are the hardest of the early game (lower yard) labs.
You also discovered an ant queen. Every anthill has one. Perhaps they can be interacted with in peace or war...

Regarding the superchips you can do them in any order as long as you have the right gear to get them. In fact you can find other superchips even before hedge lab. But there is intended order, if you look at the map superchips there are numbered.
A couple of tips: you will forever need all the mite fuzz you can get your hands on. grubs can be found anywhere near water and in high number around the oak and you need a lot of their bits. dew drops are found on grass in the morning and the evenings. dew collector and canteen are indeed your best friends.
Talking about hoping to figure out where to get the bombs whilst *just* having researched the fungal growth and asked "What is a Bratburst?" is poetic.

I would HIGHLY recommend red ant armor as a full set, the RED ants may uh, they may think its super cash money of you.
You can harvest the stumps of chopped grass to get a lot of plant fiber. I hope this tip is helpful. :)
Spoiler free tips
- Learning to parry helps a bunch
- Use the peeper to identify enemy weaknesses
- Weapon and armour upgrades are key, esp the axe and hammer

I also hate stinkbugs, i cant smell them for some reason but theyre terrifying when they take flight

My, quite the dedicated effort to beeline past every hazard to the objectives, the RPG hero rushing into the dark lord's castle with his starting equipment. I'd say it's a game of exploration and discovery. If you find a new critter or resource, you collect it, it'll lead to better equipment and more tools, which you use to take out more blockages and critters. Just exploring, to find new resources, and taking the labs on as you expand your radius would be my suggestion.
Also, a little puzzled why it didn't seem to immediately click who the single, giant ant in the centre of the ant nest is

Your best next chip is in the red ant mound, get full red ant armor and you can walk right in
its roughly the middle of the yard, south west of the oak tree, great place to farm bug parts to as the soldiers kill everything
Next lab, your not gonna like, I'd to the pod lab, but you can do any really your just not geared for any yet. but the pond gear is easiest everything else your gonna need to kill more bugs. Scan everything all the time always.
Whilst your posts are informative and helpful I thoroughly believe they are the reason Butch doesn't Google what to do, it takes away from the discovery, immersion and surprise the game has to offer. Let him figure it out, cheer him along and when he is truly stumped he will ask or seek further help.

I'll give you some tips on the bugs you encountered.
First: don't forget to peep the bugs you encounter. It contains information on their weakness and resistances
Regarding ants: the workers are neutral and only attack when you attack them or other ants. Soldier ants are always hostile to you and are much tougher then workers. I would recommend ignoring them and running when possible or stand your ground if you feel like you can take them. Ant queens are hidden deep in the ant colonys (you have encountered the black ant queen in the black ant lab). Unlike the workers and the soldiers, the ant queens are completely harmless and are more of an interactive event then anything. You have 3 choices with the ant queens, you can either befriend them, kill them or infect them by feeding them their favourite foods. I won't spoil what these options do (the only queen that can be infect currently is the red ant queen).

The bratburst you unlocked the recipe for is the bomb you need for the haze lab
in the last scan you learned how to make the bomb! only need more mats to make it (I always after the first Chip to the pond, then the position and then the black anthill)
Butch is the only one who can play anything and I could watch it without a complain he is amazing he brings so much life into his content the experience is unmatched 🙌💗

A good rule of thumb in video games, if you have to run past the enemies to get someplace without dying, you're most likely not supposed to be there yet. It does feel like you're trying to rush through the story too hard. For reference, the xbox store lists the main story as being about 27 hours to complete with a completionist run of the game taking about 92 hours.
You've inspired me to do another grounded play through, i built in the same can as you and just a little tip. if you take out all the stuff from the can temporarily, you can build actual structures inside the can allowing you to have a lot more room inside. you can fit the dew collector even on a platform in the back. make sure you scan everything at the little outposts, even the weed stems and grass planks.
Best tips you can get is to kill everything and analyse everything, Secondly learn to identify Quartzite and Marble and harvest every one, You'll need em later when you have tier 2 gear

I recommend practicing parrying and getting better gear.
Each enemy has there own attack patterns and if you block just before their attack you can avoid taking any damage. The Orb Weaver is actually the enemy I was recommend for practicing parrying. The orb weaver may look scary but they're pretty easy once you learn how to parry they're attacks.
For armour I'd recommend getting ladybug armour. You will have to kill ladybugs to get the ladybug shells. They're relatively easy to kill and the armour is worth it.
For the weapon I recommend the red ant club as it has high damage and a chance to stun the enemies. Its honestly too good for an early game weapon.
You can craft higher tier tools to break tougher structures you can't normally break with tier 1 tools. The tier 2 weapons require you to kill tier 2 bugs like Bombardier beetles, stinkbugs and spiders.
Another excellent video of discovering. I love your narration and intrigue whilst exploring a game, there's a lot more to be discovered. Cant wait to dive in to your next one 😊

Pink colored rocks are quartzite for weapon upgrades and blue rocks can be busted for marbkes, the armor upgrades
You've gotta do pond lab before both of them labs and then you can make bratbursts to break the lab door for haze

Put the Water Container under the Straw of a Juice Box to collect juice.
peep any bugs you see to learn weaknesses and such. It's very useful and also unlocks a really good mutation.
Another tip is bug trophy mounts can increase damage to that bug.

I just wanted to give you Some tips, de recipe for the bratburst is a bomb you can you use to crack the rocks open, and also I just wanted to warm you cause the haze lab jas a boss in it that you Will have to defeat and the black ant lab aswell but the black Hill boss is lot stronger then the haze so you really need to prepare for that before you go ahead and try it, and also I have another tip you should defenetly try to kill a ladybug for ladybug armor, iets really strong armor and should be good enough to fight a lot of things.
If you cut the "stumps" that grass and dandelions leave you get another 3-4 plant fibers and they can regrow when you sleep, also sleeping causes the resources to respawn so let tiny butch have his tiny naps.
The pond is the next lab in the chain (sorry)
The little numbers at side of your tools / weapons when you look at them in the crafting menu indicate their tier (ant clubs tier 2 I believe)

Great Episode. My only tip for you is a simple one. When you cut down grass also cut down the stump to get the grass fiber from it to make more rope.

Here are some tips from a veteran player. Tip#1 learn how to perfect parry you will know you did it right as you won't take any damage or lose any stamina. Tip#2 Use the PEEPR function by pressing the button set for PEEPR (it might be x if you didn't touch the controls) when you peep a creature you will see what weapon/candy type does more or less damage to them. Tip#3 setup small bases near the Oak Tree, the Haze, the Sandbox, and the Picnic Table. As these places you will travel to very often to collect the resources found there. Tip#4 Use the first 3 Mutation slots (Tabs labeled A B and C) as your mutations for weapons you like to use. Setup D or E Mutation slots as mutations that make stuff easier chop and smash and you can carry more. Then set the other slot as your mobility Mutations for instance Buff Lungs, Natural Explorer, and Dare Devil.
ok, just in case, some free spoiler advice:
-Dont bomb the big thick boy ant, i dont even know if you can actually do that in the first place, but in case you can, dont do it, there are "other" ways around that ant
-answering the question you made, i think there IS supposed to be an order on the chips but technically you can do them in any order you want proven that you have the required tools (like the bombs or the gas mask), i always do them in this order: 1-hedge (obligatory), 2-pond, 3- haze, 4-black ant hill, 4.5-extra memory chips

Its the queen ant and the only way to get behind her is to kill her (if that's what you choose to do)

If you need food you can eat those tiny white mushrooms at the bases of the big ones. They're safe to eat, thankfully.
Hey man, I suggest getting yourself better armour, maybe also go back to the hedge and smash the websacks along the way you can get bug parts, also if you have brittle plating and marble you can upgrade your weapon and armour to do more damage

going the complete wrong area black ant lab is later game you have to kill stink bug ladybug and bomb beetles for tier two stuff then the labs in haze and pond i love the playthroigh though

lol You need A LOT more than 2 bombs for the ant lab. LOL
you can find more in the lab if you use your bombs wisely. But last time I checked you only need 2 bombs for it.
You can turn the Haze off at the cost of making the enemies in the world spawn with harder infected versions, worth it if it means you can actually see what your fighting IMO. you'll need gum bits which needs a tier 2 shovel. Basically you need to go on a bug genocide and collect parts to research for better gear. Even if you make it to another lab now you wont like how it turns out without better gear. The difficulty ramps up pretty quick.
He already got a gum part from a chest in the lab.

the pond is infinitely easier
I prefer to invest in hunger and thirst depletion with my milk molars. Hunger can get annoying, especially if you sleep every night.
Food is easy to get with a weevil farm and thirst too with a couple of dew collectors
First, why would you ever sleep? Only sleep if you have a petal bed or you need a cutscene. It’s just wasting time otherwise. Just progress in the game and soon enough you’ll have a whole ton of cooked meals stocked up so you’ll never get hungry.

I don't like that people are telling you the expected or difficulty order or what you should do with detail. Your most important thing right now is armor/weapon progression to be able to kill harder bugs.
You aren't gonna beat the assistant manager before doing the pond lab brother people are correct with the progression and difficulty ordering of the labs
@@Delta45_ You can complete them in any order. Nothing is stopping him from doing haze or black ant before Pond. What I'm saying is he's said in his videos he doesn't want any spoilers or guidance.
@@CurlyCross well it took me like a couple of hours with max gear back in 2022 to beat assistant manager with best mutations so might be kind of impossible to do black anthill lab before any other lab at his stage
