You should check out a game called Moons of Madness. Its similar to this but set on Mars. Very good and very suspenseful.

As someone who's inclined to search every square inch of game environments, I appreciate having the yellow to keep me on track.
Honestly you're the perfect person to play this game, this type of horror fits the type of games you play so well.
Loved this game. What an experience. Finlay was my favorite. Only woman on the rig, had to be hard as nails to do that back in the 70s (and still a bit today probably) and the first one to know and try to do what really had to be done. So many strong, good characters here-best of humanity in a crisis, everyone trying to take care of each other and ultimately sacrificing themselves to save the rest of the world. It was just Finlay and Caz making that choice in the end, but I got the impression that most of the ones we met on the rig (with some shitty exceptions) would have done the same. Excellent writing.
This is slowly becoming my favourite game that I haven’t played. Like i said, I haven’t played it but every time, I nearly cry; the beginning, the music, the characters, the story, the ending. I adore this game.
So ya spoiled it for yourself completely because you love it so much then???
You do have a point, Oil rigs are a incredible setting for horror or suspense stuff, even the real life deep horizon event is somewhat otherworldy in itself.
Or to just to think all the crazy dangers and accidents that occur on such places, not mention the deep sea diving that needs to be done, I think literally the most dangerous job in the world, is a terrifying thing on its own.
Let's have three cheers for Caz, second luckiest guy on the rig! Longest-lasting, and most determined throughout the disaster, with first prizes in both parkour and monster-avoidance!

Its subnautica 2 not 3 - airing next year around spring. 😊 below zero wasnt a second game, it was like an addition to the first game, too big to be an addon so they sold it as whole game as a sequel to subnautica.

I had a great time playing this game. But really, it was more of an interactive movie since it's so on rails. Also, it was fun watching this video to see a few things i missed. I was fairly drunk by the end of my playthrough, so a lot of details went passed me.
Anyway, id love to see you do Amnesia: The Bunker.
This game felt like a movie but you were of course playing the main character, the premise is not unlike a lot of video games but this one did it unlike any other game I’ve seen! Amazing vid
Hej, just at the part where you are fuming and as a brother I have to say that was the first thing that my parents explained/teached that in case my sister was unresponsive, I should first check if my parents were closeby and otherwise I should administer her medicine. I was also quite surprised by how this was dealt with. But love the video!
I HATE horror games, but watching you play one was okay, really atmospheric but you won't catch me playing it. I would have preferred to have Caz survive, in any way possible, but I'm kinda a sucker for happy endings lol.

I tripped over your channel as I'm an Ark fan, I guess, and have watched everything from the start of your Ark series on.
I loved this format and playthrough too, but then again I like long format as well as the shorter vids.
The important thing is that it was Butchx3 all the way and that is always good watching.
Defintely watch his subnautica playthrough. Hilarious and a great game
1:52:34 some do some dont. for rigs closer to shore they can be connected to the ground, but others do float and are actually shipped and set out in the ocean by ships
And the ones that float need to adjust their buoyancy to compensate for tides, else the drill would get yanked upward each time the sea level rises. So they have ballast tanks which can be filled with or emptied of seawater to adjust how fully their pontoons and legs are submerged. That's what Caz swims through in the middle part of the game: pipework for the ballast tanks: seawater with a scum of oil on top. (It can't be *just* oil; oil isn't dense enough to swim in.)

I hate having my hand held in games, so yellow triggers me a bit..but I think in real life, ladders and valves are Yellow on rigs
The Yellow can also be turned down in the Settings of the game so Explorers can have their fun aswell. Sadly for me the game kept crashing tho so i had to refund it. Luckily i still had this Video tho

I had to recommend this to a friend of mine, as their have family who happen to work on an oil platform. This friend also loves horror games, so I figure it's the perfect game for them to try.

The worst part of this game is its consistancy. every thing you run into effects the area design when or if you return. such as the diving bell at the start which can be found later.

I feel like this game could have done with some more stuff to establish everyone before it all goes to hell.
To be fair to Caz I don’t think he’d even know how to dose/administer the insulin given he asked earlier if Roy couldn’t just “eat some jam” to fix his issue haha. I like that Roy didn’t suffer a violent end like the rest of them at least, it feels like a small mercy
Oooh, I would’ve actually maybe liked a little moment where Caz opens the box with the insulin and it’s just all smashed to bits cause maybe Trots fucked it up when he was doing his thing in that area, and so we get the sense that it was always hopeless just like the rest of it

You know what also fuck about being on an oil rig you get paid a really good amount of money working there, but because of how dangerous it is and how often people die on these things I would only ever do this if I had no other chose left in life. An I am not kidding people die yearly on these things from work accidents or the damn rigs blowing up or falling into to sea cause of a rouge wave.
And this game painstakingly includes as many ways an oil platform can kill people as possible. Caz is usually in more danger from his workplace than from the monsters.

I was hoping the end when you return home gave you the confrontation with the bloke Caz assaults and gives you a choice to do or not do it (a sliding door moment).

Was a cool concept game. But for me, I can't enjoy such games if I don't get the lore. What was it, why was it, etc.
Always feels incomplete to me.
I prefer the mystery, I hate the scene where the main character meets someone who conveniently knows everything about what's going on. "We first detected its approach in 1963...."

I found a biologist explaining one possible scenario how it all might came to be. So I got my satisfactory level fullfilled, although with a slight detour.

honestly most of the ways to go through you said are completely useless, because first Cza is wearing heavy and wet clothes which explain his movement being heavy, and trying to jump over a fence with 2 entire bucket filled with sand on your shoulders would most possibly make you almost unable to jump a fence using your strength only.
It's an old game, but you should totally play Alien Isolation. ;)
