- Did you know that Western Europe (and Spain) actually have some truly dangerous hoods? Inspired by the likes of Kurt Caz and Bald and Bankrupt, I went to a gypsy hood in Granada, Spain and interacted with the locals to find out how truly dangerous it was!

Adventure Elliot is a bilingual travel vlogger (English and Spanish) with a particular interest in the Spanish speaking world. I enjoy taking adventures - big or small - and my goal is to show the Spanish speaking world 1 video at a time.
The goal of my channel is simple yet complex: I want to document and share authentic & educational content of anything related to Adventure Travel, Geography, & Language in the Spanish-speaking world. It's kind of a loaded topic, but it allows me to never exhaust my creative outlets. The truth is, I've always been extremely passionate about what I'm doing on my channel, but I never properly documented it when I started adventuring as a younger man in my college years. I've made over 150 CZcams videos in both English and Spanish, and I have aspirations to make 1000s more. If that sounds interesting to you, join the community and follow me along the way.. After all, we're just getting started.

Spain is same as Bulgaria
Lived in Spain for 3 years. 2 years in Sevilla and 1 year in Malaga. The Gypsy communities are a big problem in Spain. They are not helping to make the country better.
I also lived in Colombia for 8 years where the most dangerous neighbourhoods looked a lot cleaner and the people were a lot friendlier.
yeah, seeing the videos, my first thought was "these people need to leave spain" talking about killing people (for no reason) like that, grown adults aren't okay in their brain when they do that
Not defending this at all, but well, they are Spanish, where are they supposed to go?
@@montseloal1776 They don’t have a single Spanish tradition and they are gypsies that come from India and are problematic criminals that do nothing. The Balkan nations also have a problem with these
@@montseloal1776 look for a job, maybe behave like civilized people..
Somewhere else@@montseloal1776
WOW that was scary, never put yourself in situation where you do not have an exit plan.
Discrimination is not the problem with these neighborhoods, in Portugal we have some similar and with african people too, and the discrimination is not a problem, their behavior is
They are everywhere the same.As you said, its not discrimination. They just prefer to live like that since the law doesnt work on them.
I have to say your Spanish is very impressive!
I like that you do cuts in English as well. Really good background info and history, it's clear you do a lot of research! Keep it up!!
A bunch of cool, friendly and happy people. Had he entered a real gypsy ghetto back in the 70s or even early 80s in Eastern Europe, he'd have been eaten alive and literally so. Thankfully, times are changing.
Bro, they pulled a knife on me 😂
@@AdventureElliot I like your content mate, keep it up! But I wish there was somewhere we can see the uncut clip. It would be good if you maybe make that available to people that would like to support you somehow.
@@AdventureElliotin what context ? Not that it matters but we didn’t really get to see
Like the spontaneous vibe you capture in these video Elliot. I am a Brit living now for two years in rural Andalucía. I recall places in Sevilla and La Línea very much like this. We spent time in La Línea de la Concepción specifically to absorb the feel of the place. Careful not to provoke or stand out like a target for thieves we found them mainly either neutral or relatively friendly. Very obvious that we were in a potentially dangerous environment & vulnerable but I’ve been in far worse places in the UK & USA. The Spanish (not to stereotype) do respect respect. Give it and often you’ll get it back. Subscribed.
Thanks Al. I’m glad you realized the magnitude of this video. I uploaded this same video on my spanish channel and it made the news and for almost 800k views because the Spaniards couldn’t believe the situation I put myself in.
I have now watched a little more of your content; we have so much shared experience. The Ceuta (we have been) and the Spanish friend vid from Galicia struck a real chord. In fact we have spent months touring every region of Spain & there are so many parallels. A lot I would like to share. We’ll be in Málaga on June 8.
@@AdventureElliot I studied Spanish at La Universidad de Oviedo and La Universidad de Sevilla many years ago through the Univ. of Central Florida in Orlando, and we took many excursions on weekends. We were warned about the gypsies in Granada, Sevilla and a few other areas, and a few of us were surrounded by gypsies a few times trying to get money. I suppose these incidents still happen in several parts of Spain.
I’m from the U.K. Elliott, and I’ve travelled to Spain many times on holidays, years ago, including, the Canary Islands and beautiful Malaga in Andalucia. But it’s interesting to see disfranchised communities living in Spain, and how they cope with everyday life. Also, in parts of the U.K., in impoverish areas, we have Gypsy communities living here, but not so much like they use to, living in caravans, ferrying themselves around by horse and cart. Mainly because local communities complain about them to the police and the council, to have them moved on from where there caravan sites are located. And Tyson Fury, the world famous boxer came from a Gypsy community, and to this day, even though he no longer lives in a caravan, he still honours his gypsy heritage.
Well, you can go to Paris, and visit the Champs Elysées, or you can go to a banlieue in Paris to see the areas of immigrants in substandard housing, or you can go to New York, on 5th Avenue or in Stuyvesant, in Brooklyn. Elliot decides through the banlieues of Paris or Brooklyn. I don't understand your videos looking for marginal areas, it seems that you want to give a third world image of Spain, looking for the most depressed areas.
They are not disenfranchised. That's their choice to live like this
These people are travelers, not gypsies.
The way of life is similar, but they are not gypsies nor does Fury have gypsy blood
That was one intense day, never thought I would get such a close up look at the gypsy lifestyle. All in all they treated us quite well. Viva Poligono Norte!
Hi Elliot, I just subscribed to your channels, Spanish and English too. I am Italian, living in London and Spain, precisely in Feria, Badajoz in Extremadura area. Your video help me to understand more Spanish culture and language too. Thank you. Giovanna 😊
Hi Giovanna .. I’ve got hundreds of videos that will help you then.. thanks for subbing :)
The guy on the horse deserves the worst... it's another way of saying 'what are you doing here, not welcome'
Yeah he had bad intentions
Hes a coward
Very good work,very good video.....WoW !!
I'd love to see you do an out door roma music session with good vibes and jamming and interactions for the whole vlog Cheers
Thanks Adventure Elliot, im glad i watched this segment, to actually see a real present day Roma culture, their lifestyle although briefly. More of this sort from other places, for me that is interesting. Keep safe, take care.
I really love this video. They're so simpatic and Nice.
You should Visit Portugal too, there are people like this called ''Ciganos''.
They're the lowest of the lowest.
The football player called Ricardo Quaresma, is also Cigano and he came from hood like this.
wtf... we did not watched the same video than
Elliot you are crazy man. I like the videos you do but you are a brave fellow. I m American living in estepona 1/2 of the year and in Czech the other half. I find your content interesting and entertaining. When yo make it out to Estepona let’s have a beer, Im buying 😊
Hey man, I’d love to. Do you use Instagram? Add me: adventure_elliot_
Crazy 😂you are very brave Elliot I salute you
This video should have a million views!
I wouldn't go to the neighborhood only because I don't speak Spanish. It looked a little rough overall... the people there treat you with respect as long as you do the same. Just be safe.
It was very rough, id never go back. This was actually a dangerous place. Everything is good :)
Didnt know spain was like this lol Nice Vid
Not everything is beaches and beers lol
They're gypsies, they don't represent Spain lol.
Its an overpriced tourist shithole with declining lifestyle since 2008
I felt genuinely afraid for you. I've watched many 'in the hood' videos. The most frightening I've seen was on a gypsy estate in Romania.
Did you see my bulgarian one?
Not yet but thanks for the tip - I'll take a look and thanks!@@AdventureElliot
Elliot no se como te la juegas!!!! Be careful!!!
Hey what’s up Elliot,Canada? They do have an area loaded with Roma people (Gypsies)and you can imagine how it turned out 😂,pretty f.up,look it up,I’ve seen it on CZcams🤪❗️❗️

I am binge watching your adventures and learning a slew of history about Spain along the way.
You are a very personable young, lad.
Again, Great show
Thanks for watching.. not many people seem to care about these videos 😂
I'm not sure where you're from but I'm glad you enjoyed this video

it is indeed crazy how much this reminds of south america when it's literally just spain, a pretty rich country.
Ricos son unos pocos... como en todos los países
@@attaraxiia cómo en todos los países no, no nos metas en el mismo saco con Dinamarca, Noruega o Suiza ni con Burundi, Somalia o Libia. Nosotros somos un país medio
They're gypsies lol, they don't represent Spain. In all european countries are no-go zones cause of the non whites invasors.
Great interesting video's but it breaks my heart seeing the children born into those impoverished marginalised circumstances.
Many will not see or experience a better life and its sad, so much potential lost to the slums. I hope there is some government initiatives to improve physical infrastructure and work onthe younger generations to help them move away from poverty and crime.
Entertaining video, but be careful!
some of the things you said during this could have landed you in big trouble. watch out buddy
In what sense?? More details . This video is on my Spanish video and it has 800k views. No trouble.
@@AdventureElliot mainly the comment to the lady in blue. you don’t know how powerful her or her husband could have been, and they could have taken serious offence

Eres famoso en estos barrios bueno es también una realidad de españa los barrios humildes
I have just watched a few of your videos and subscribed, I love watching different cultures. They seemed like good people but unfortunately as everywhere in the world you tend to have the odd asshole or two. There are also some rough areas in Dublin, Ireland and we also have gypsies (we call them travellers) ....look forward to watching more, thanks 😊
I would like to film in some dodgy Dublin hoods
@AdventureElliot there are some parts of Tallaght (Dublin) that the police won't visit anymore....Good luck!
You'll love Ireland but be prepared to spend money as its expensive..x
How much did you pay them to not get mugged?
Nothing, I navigated that situation all in spanish, it wasn’t easy lol.
the neighborhoods do exist in america, the projects.
We don’t have gypsies however
Hey elliot, how about a linguistic tour of North Algeria ? Learn some French and show us some videos ?
Long term that’s the plan. Now I’m studying Portuguese and soon I’m going back to Latin America to make content. But after Latin America I’m going to do an Africa tour. Right now I can’t travel full time because I’m teaching.
@@AdventureElliot North algeria seems to have big ties with Almeria....cultural, economic, family ties. And there is a rumour they will ditch French language for English ?

Interesting video. However, you mentioned in the finale of your video that gypsies don't have neighborhoods in Canada or the United States. I'm from New York City and in the Boros of Queens and especially in parts of Brooklyn, there are gypsies. Many of them also have Palm Reading stores all throughout Manhattan. Although New York City is predominately Irish, Italian, Jewish, Greek Puerto Rican, Dominican, Chinese, and African American... These are only the primary ethnicities. Every other race and ethnicity in the world is in New York City. There are also many Spaniards, but not Gitano Spaniards. I have not met a Spanish Gypsy/Gitano. Almost all of the gypsies that I have met or seen in New York City are Romanian. Interesting video though...
Question, Elliot : Would you dare to go so cool & confident into a hood like East Saint Louis, or any depressed black community like that in the USA?
Probably not as casually and definitely without a contact.. but I’ve done adventures like this in Europe and also Latin America.
@@AdventureElliot Back in the 80s, I got lost while driving a couple of times in E.St.Louis (still top place in the crime ranking in the whole USA). Weird & scary. I only recall that kind of feeling in Madrid while driving a bit into the vertederos, in Rivas Vaciamadrid

Many Latin Americans move to Spain, at least in part, to feel safer on the streets and in general. I hope the worst aspects of where they have come from are not following up right behind.
Hi, are the gypsy Spanish or?? Do they consider themself Spanish?
Yes they are Spanish gypsies. They are the ones who created the famous flamenco music. I have a lot of good Gypsy friends actually.
Si, los gitanos son españoles, tienen nombres españoles y son cristianos. Si el problema con ellos no es la adaptación cultural, es la adaptación social
Many things are expressed. You will get your camera stolen, it's nasty, people are bad, but it never seems as bad as they claim. People seem to be very nice.Maybe people want to project fear because they are in fear.
Eh, this place was an anomaly.. These people had some bad intentions with me. I was very naiive at the time of making this video.
Qué barba!
99% of all CZcams videos about Spain, especially Andalusia, are complete cliché. I've travelled all over Spain in the last 42 years and have my own little place in the Axarquia in Malaga. There is some seriously wretched poverty in parts of the country and Andalusia is the poorest region of the lot. For every dozy arsed video about flamenco and tapas in Seville you could have a video of people going through rubbish bins for food. The working class barrios in places like Granada, Almeria, etc, are no joke and you have to be pretty careful. I'm a tall, rugby sized, Welshman so I sometimes get sized up but left alone. It's total macho bullshit. I've been to parts of Italy where it's the same. The majority of foreigners that travel to Spain have no idea about the real country.
Thanks for understanding.. I’m not trying to sound entitled, but this video should have hundreds of thousands of views because like you said, it’s reality. People have to live from chatarra or drug trafficking here.. on top of that I literally risk my life making these types of videos.
But the typical tourist doesn’t give a f about anything except the cliche stuff like you said. I’m better off filming videos about Brits getting drunk in benidorm to get views.. oh well.
super weird! thank god it is a whole different world in Morocco.
Gracias a Dios hay buena gente aquí pero siempre hay CRITICONAS-ES METE PATAS
@@BAENA. yes! i say this only becaus Eliot was in Morocco last month. But i know there are a lot of good Roma people i live in Amsterdam and have a lot of friends from the roma community.
Wait Spain has gangs? I thought it was safe.
It is the problem are gypsies and moroccans
Fun fact: The Calabrian mafia tried to train gypsy clans in organized crime as they saw in their isolation and blood ties a lot of potential.
After verifying the low IQ of their members, the Italians discarded the idea.
So overall. Andalusia is a nice place to go or too much criminals?
It’s great. This was an isolated area in Granada jaja not touristic
A lot of those people are very nice and genuine, but those other guys are gangsters, they didnt consider you a threat so they just played with you, they didn't like you! Definitely a real ghetto.
I hate to tell you but Puerto Rico is not a Third World country. It is actually part of the US. That’s why it’s such a shame what’s happening there.
Yeah i know It’s not but the comment about power outages is something that’s common in PR unfortunately

What a shame, Spain spending billion of dollars on football game but they neglect their own people .
This is a different case. These communities neglect their own people.
These communities reject the rest of spaniards dont talk if you dont know
