Hi everyone!
This 10 minute theraband routine will challenge your abdominals and core muscles in a different way. It will add variety and strength to your regular core exercises, while the bonus is you will strengthen your back and arms as you stabilise the band.
It is really effective to do this in your ab training routine for something different but with a good focus on technique.
Make sure you keep your rib cage and shoulders down on the floor firmly with the first few exercises where you are laying down.
Keep a strong hold through your tummy and straighten the legs as best you can.
As always, control and slow down your moves while listening to your body.
I also find the band beneficial here is supporting you to build up to full sit ups and teaser movements, with your legs and torso off the ground.
Remember not to rely on the band too much! It is there to assist but also challenge your stability while teaching you to work from your centre.

Wow - that was a powerful 10 mins of abs - woohoo. Completed after upper body weights using 6kgs for chest flys, 5 kgs for dumbbell pullover, 6.5kgs for bicep curls and 4.5kgs for triceps - also now on 1200 calories a day aiming for 30%+protein - so hopefully will start to see some results in the next few weeks 😅

Completed after weights - now up to 7kgs on chest fly, started biceps on 7kg but had to move back to 6kg, chest pullovers on 6kg and triceps on 5kg - 3 sets of 10 - hard to get to 10 - then core - definitely feel worked out today 😅

Love the way we can use the band to target all muscle groups, this one for abs. We just went for a 1.75 mile outdoor walk prior to this workout. My stamina was on for this workout, I was with you until end, I couldn’t get legs straight out for entire 5. I was able to straighten my legs for initial count of 5, but unable to get up/down with straight legs. I had to go back to slight bend for up/down. Thanks Vanessa 😊❤️

So good. First video I have found that somewhat resembles the “reformer” Pilates as I cannot attend the studio due to COVID19. If you know of any other Tera band exercises in place of the reformer I would love to know. Thank you!

completed after upper body weights - feeling it ash yesterday’s workout was at 4pm and this mornings at 9am - definitely feeling stronger - BUT super disappointed as after a week of calorie restriction, intermittent fasting and a full program of workouts - have gained 400 grams - I just don’t get my body

Hi Aisha, yes these will certainly help with strength. Also check out my back strength routines ok, these will also help. Just do not do situps as such with a bulging disc, and get your doctor's guidance if you should eliminate any more depending on your condition 🤗 take care ok!
I love your theraband workouts however this was an exception. The movement with both legs on the band while doing a circular motion, was a dangerous move. Even though I securely placed my feet on the band, the band hit my chest. It was so painful, now I have this red mark on my chest & both shoulders. Good thing it didn’t hit my face or eyes. ☹️
Hi Maricel, I am so sorry this happened and hope you are ok! The double leg circles can be tricky. The angle of the feet need to be precise to keep the band in place, I find shoes on help here, even better than bare feet, but definitely not socks. (Not saying this just to you but for anyone else reading aswell!) So sorry once again. This is rare but it can happen. Definitely leave this one out for future for yourself. @@Vanessabhealthtv forgot to mention, yes I’m wearing shoes when I do theraband/resistance band workouts as it helps to keep the band in place & make sure to securely place it. Been doing a lot of bands workout & It’s my first time to encounter this. No worries, I’ll be ok. I still love your workouts 💕 & im thankful to have found you at this time, you help sustain my workout routine while recovering from my tennis elbow injury as I’m not allowed to lift heavy weights for now. 😊🤗
Can these exercises be done by someone having grade 1 l5-s1 anterolisthesis with para fractures and having disc bulge to strengthen core muscles?

Hi, what size/length are these bands? I have 5ft and am 5'7". Is that sufficient ?
Yep so the bands I use are around 1.2 to 1.5 meters, which 1.5 meters is around 4.9 feet long. It also depends on how stretchy they are. So in that case I think your band length is suitable for your height 🤗👌

Yes of course, always use wall or chair as support where needed 👌😀
Hello can I do this excercises with resistance tube as well ?
Hello! I am doubtful about this as I feel the tubing bands will slip off the feet as many of these exercises are from that position. So I would say no for safety reasons!

@@Vanessabhealthtv Thank you! I just tried the video you suggested and I love it! Many of those I do regularly because I've learned they help. I don't usually have back pain, but congenitally misshapen L4 and L5 (among others, but those are the most troubling because they move around and even catch on each other). I own a lot of hard chairs and never lean back!
@@naturelover137 sure, I understand what you mean! The L4 and L5 misshapen would cause some issues. I think in your case then stability of the lower back, glutes, and core without big movements would also be helpful 💪🤗 Check out my glute/ lower body routines and also the other lower back videos, plus beginner Pilates core videos which have more stability and technique moves. the one's i got from the V.A. must have came from a bad batch of products because after a week or so of use they started breaking. mine was green but, i doubt that made a difference. an afterward inspection shown little holes and tears developing on the band. haven't used in a while so they were covered by plastic and clothing and exposed to the air. cannot image house dust or the objects touching them would cause this to occur. a waste of your money in the present form. should be at least the thickness of a mouse pad. i can't see repeated buyers if this continues.
You should contact whoever u bought the bands from! They so not sound like good quality at all
@@Vanessabhealthtv they where free as part of the V.A. move program for loosing weight. so my guest is they got them free to drum up business for theraband, although i doubt it help.

In my videos I use theraband brand or resista brand (I'm in Australia, so not sure if they available worldwide?) Hope you get better bands! There are definitely better ones out there. The ones I used hundreds of times and never break!

You will not get bulky from this, only strong and toned 😀👌 you need to do lots of heavier weights for bulking:)
