  • Tint your high mount third brake light lens with vinyl tint.
I am using Luxe Auto Concepts LightWrap in mid gloss smoke. This material is applied dry and has air release technology for easy install.
The method I use is a cold pre stretch without the need for heat to manipulate the film, which could cause a failure or lifting around the edges.

      Absolutely!
I know you were looking to get after it a couple months ago, sorry I didn’t knock it out sooner.
How’d the tails go? Did you try those yet?

      Thanks. Appreciate it.
This particular light has the screws in the front. In the past I’ve backed the hardware out, installed the tint, and placed the screws back in. It punctures the film and therefore creates an opportunity for elements to get under the tint.
This time I just ran the tint over the hardware to test how it will handle out in the weather long term. It’s my personal truck so before I touched on it in the video I wanted to learn how it turns out before sharing.
More to come on what I find in future content.

I went over scres 1st time and then I had to take light off . So was just wondering. Made little slips on second round. Thx

@@jimprovencher6031 Makes sense. Tricky spots to manage with the vinyl. I’m not quite sure which way to best approach yet. Thanks for the feedback.

Could you by chance before the final go over cut out the screw holes? Then do the final step and or hit those areas with light heat to maybe smooth and secure it

What do you do with the screw holes in brake lights? Just leave them? Wouldn't it lift?just curious..

To experiment, I have tried it both to see the difference. It does get wavy over the screw holes over time if wrapping over them. Seems to look best when cutting out the vinyl over the holes and just leaving the screw visible.
