Out of sheer luck, I found Amy on You Tube - at the time we were living abroad and my wife and I had decided to relocate to the Pittsburgh area to be near out kids at college, but with zero knowledge of what we wanted and where to look.
While we didn't check any reviews on Amy prior to asking for her help, I have just done so out of curiosity and those I read, sum up extremely well our opinion on her knowledge, dedication and professionalism.
As much as I would like to say she is the best, we have only bought one home in the US and Amy was responsible for finding it and negotiating the closing well within our budget so we could not be more happy. But we cannot compare her to anyone else, so I have no other references for comparison.
With that said, here is (or was) our situation and I´ll try to detail Amy´s participation in finding us our new dream home: first of all, she is very responsive and a great communicator - very easy to talk too and very knowledgeable about the market. Also, she is very patient and I assume she is used to clients going round in circles and changing opinion on what they are looking for on a weekly basis (which unfortunately was our case)! During our first conversation (while we were still living abroad), I gave her a price range and an idea of what we were looking for. Once we actually arrived in the US and started visiting the area, we quickly started getting a different idea of what we wanted - actually I felt quite embarrassed asking her to change the scope of our search, but Amy was very understanding and was always super positive about meeting our needs. Oh, and I forgot to mention that we had a short window to find our new home as our belongs were all being shipped to PA, without us actually knowing where and when we would end up living - quite stressful - I would not do an international move this way again.
And as time ticked by, we started getting nervous about not finding what we were hoping for! Not to worry though as Amy sent us a set of photos that looked like our dream place and she managed to schedule the first slot once open for visitation (9am Saturday to be exact). From the photos and more specifically the location, we had a feeling that it was going to please us - as it did once we had seen it. However the amount of people lining up after us was disheartening as our expectations at this point were very high and we knew that we would be up against other offers that could be way over the asking price. So Amy´s knowledge and insight kept us grounded and was continually in communication with us over the weekend as the window for offers was closing that Sunday at 5pm.
Originally, during our first call, I has asked Amy to find a place near a golf course, and with a big yard, not too far from a good shopping area and not too far from downtown Pittsburgh where our daughter is studying - I didn't mention that I also wanted a place near a lake or river where I could fish as that would be asking too much!!!
So at 5pm that Sunday, Amy rings us with the great news that our offer had been accepted!! We are now the proud owners of a house next to TWO golf courses, a lake, a stream and a wonderful park which beats having to take care of a large yard! And 20 minute from downtown and 10 minutes from a shopping mall.
As I write this, I feel extremely grateful (and lucky) that by chance I came across one of her videos on You Tube. She delivered more than we expected, in a shorter timeframe that we had estimated, and well within our budget. She also helped us understand and navigate a very unfamiliar market with the utmost professionalism. We would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a new home in the area.
