What I love the most about the 90's is that, at that time, it seemed to be okay to just have fun, like literally have FUN with yourself and your friends and the things you liked without worrying about looking cool or sexy while doing it like nowadays. Young people these days can't seem to absentmindedly have fun with themselves anymore bc it's somehow embarassing??? You have to always kinda act like you don't care and I HATE IT
Actually it was the opposite back in the 90's. Women were called names if they wore baggy clothes or tight outfits. The rule back then was conservative, and TLC came with this video as a response to society oppresing women for wearing clothes outside of the general norm. Actually, they opened a lot of doors. And even when they came out with this video, a huge mass of people criticized them for the way they used to dress.
It was a great decade for music and young people were opening to new things, but society was still green about self expressión. It was a very oppressive society back then. A lot of things teens do nowadays wouldn't be approved by society in the 90's, such as sexual education in schools, having cellphones, having same sex couples, watching drag queens on tv, etc etc etc.

Youth doesn't stop at 18. Once you stop rebelling against the wrongs in society you start getting old and you start dying faster. They were a reflection of US youth culture at the time. The young and youthful minded drive change in society, not the elderly. They weren't rebelling or trying to look like they were rebelling against their parents, they were rebelling against archaic societal and religious norms as well as the new emerging objectification of women in entertainment as a means to make a profit. It was also a movement against racism and one about enjoying life and spreading love. After the 90's soceity took a turn for the worse in many ways, now not only is objectification of women in entertainment rampant, the elderly have brainwashed the youth into creating a PC culture that furthers their agenda.
Now if you speak out against women openly objectifying themselves or allowing themselves to be objectified by the globalist entertainment industry, these indoctrinated youths will do all they can to silence you and retreat to their safe spaces where they don't have to deal with reality. There's a thin line between women freely expressing themselves and women just feeding into their own objectification. "Hey everyone, look at my tits. Oh my god, you're sexist, stop looking at my tits like I'm just a sexual object." You can, at times, have your cake and eat it too, just don't be surprised when it makes you sick. To reiterate, since many won't get the point, youth culture used to drive positive change in society, now the elderly are driving negative change under the guise of positive it via the youth as their surrogates and the PC culture they've created.
