  • 👋 In todays video I show you the process of restoring a non working Poulan chainsaw and getting it back to being a functional tool! In the many sources I had to look at, I decided to make a video on this and show the steps needed all in one video to effectively work on and doing this by yourself!
    The first step I started with is buying a tune up kit which included a spark plug, fuel/air filters, tubing and the prime bulb. The rework of the tubing took the most time and effort to get right and to figure out which end went where.
    AS A REMINDER:
    The fuel filter connected to the tube coming out of the left side goes to the top of the carburetor.
    The tube on the right side with the stopper went to the prime bulb.
    The tube on the prime bulb went to the bottom of the carburetor.
    If you don't have the prime bulb filling up with gas after connecting all the tubes, switch the tubes on the prime bulb to the opposite side. One side pushes out fuel and one side sucks it in.
    This project took a few weeks to get all the kinks out and really took time and effort to get it back up and running, so if you are going into a project like this, just know it'll take several attempts. At least it did for me, and so I'm hoping this video can save you time with this step by step process!
    Once I got the chainsaw put back together, it's time to put fuel and bar and chain oil in it, and it's ready for the season!

    Thanks for showing the Poulan saw. Not everyone needs a Stihl for limited use as we are not all lumberjacks. 😊

    I had my huskavarna chain saw fuel line dry rot three years ago was little tricky getting it out but as always saved ton of money doing it myself like anything else I fix everything on my home vehicles & gas powered yard tools, amazes me as a man that there are so many lazy other men that don't want to try & fix things themselves they rather pay tons of money to have someone else fix things totally crazy..

    I got the carburetor kit listed below the video and the fuel line inlets are not both on the right side as you’re looking at the carburetor but one is on the right and one is on the left.
    Can’t find a new carburetor that has both fuel lines on the same side!
    Three questions. if I use the new carburetor, how do I determine which inlet to use for which Tube?
    Second, do you have a link to a carburetor with the same inlet configuration?
    Third, this Poulan I have is secondhand and incredibly dirty and I’m not sure if I wanna reuse the carburetor. How do I evaluate that?

      I figured it out. Thank you. Think I might need a new carburetor now. Dies when I gas it bud idles okay. Since it's been sitting for so long, people told me to let it warm up and keep adjusting the choke to work the diaphragm before I go that far. I think I have the exact same song as you but the high low adjustments kind of throw me off. Happy for any advice. But I'm sure I'll figure it out.

      First time should have cut extra fuel line off not poke extra in. Could vibrate loose and get damage to fuel line. You got to be carfull if you don't know how to adjust especially high on chainsaws you can actually turn it up too high and blow up a chainsaw pretty easy. Have to know how many rpms it's supposed to put out and have a rpm reader.

    • @BrosFOURRSpeed
      @BrosFOURRSpeed  Pƙed rokem

      @@jaredmontgomery8934 you don’t necessarily need an rpm reader, you can just listen to it and determine from that as well.

    • @jaredmontgomery8934
      @jaredmontgomery8934 Pƙed rokem

      @Bros FOURR Speed yes I know some people don't know for sure what to listen for and some chainsaws will have in owners manual factory settings how many turns best to be under recommended rpms than over a little. Ones you apply pressure cutting a tree is when tearing up a chainsaw if it's screaming it's too much. Better to be safe than sorry
