I'd like to thank the republicans in the Tennessee House for doing such a perfect job of amplifying Representative Jones's voice.
Currently the Tennessee House speaker is saying They will not seat him and will put in their own Rep ion his place. You know, 100% against the law

I should probably mention that I'm watching this story unfold from Australia.
I hope there are both legal and electoral repercussions for the republicans in Tennessee, and I'm looking forward to hearing more from Representative Jones and his pro-democracy colleagues, as their voices travel literally around the world.

As an interested observer from the UK I found those lines of state troopers on the stairs/entrance disgusting. It wasn't a guard of honour but an obvious act of intimidation.
No No, my British observer. They are trying to maintain order in what could very well be a volatile situation. What is being lost in this story here are the three children and the three adults, who were murdered at a Christian school. Our Vice President comes to town, not to remember those people, but to foment racial resentments. It is like Harry and Meghan in that it's all about them and what they want. It is only "Democracy" (however we are a Republic) if they get what they want and if they lose it is oppression, so they go Machiavellian.

They were posted there to protect the peace, and to protect Jones and his supporters. There weren't there to intimidate. Had they not been there and this guy wound up hurt or even dead there would be questions as to why security was so lax.

I live in the state of Tennessee, I keep up with politics pretty well and I am a voter. I'm ashamed to admit I didn't know much about Jones, Pearson and Johnson before this whole stupid mess started. Welp, now I'm going to look for their names on future ballots and do my best to put them in whatever office they choose to run for. All this dramatic opposition only succeeded in paving shining futures for these three and I'm delighted!

Not a Tennessean, but if I were I think in addition to supporting these three I’d make a point of voting against any republican. Here in SC I am trying to use my vote to send a message to the republic writ large. I used to say I “voted for the person, not the party” but now the repot party has so lost its way that I don’t care whether they’re a “good one” or not. I would vote for a turnip if it was opposing a repub, even if I have to write a name in.

He shouted, lied, obstructed government operations, used a bullhorn, refused to leave, and then had the gall to say it was a "lynching" for them to vote him out?
There is a time and a place for protest, and it's not during a government assembly. It's you're right to protest, but why make fools of yourselves in the process? How often do republican protestors sprint into government buildings and obstruct the government when abortion laws are loosened, or gun control bills pass?
January 6th is the last time I heard of one, and why aren't these leftist protestors and members of government being prosecuted and shamed the same way?

Currently driving inflation sky high so they can move over to a digital dollar where it's centralized so they can monitor everything you spend your money on which will evolve into a social credit system. Having the IRS monitor transactions more than $600 where the threshold was $20,000 in the prior administration so they can raise more taxes. Democrats believe in more government in order to invade on privacy but call it "security" to fool stupid people who buy into that and now they want to ban tiktok by saying China is spying but in reality, a lot of TikTok channels are revealing the truth about this administration and they can't have that.

I stumbled on the AP live broadcast of the expulsion as it was happening in the beginning and I swear I watched all six hours because it was captivating. The 3 representatives were inspirational and eloquent and the whole process felt historic. Those representatives never stuttered once explaining why they shouldn't be expunged. They knew exactly what to say and how to respond. All I could think of was Rachel and Lawrence were going to have tough times picking out which of the quotes they were going to use because there were SO MANY. There's at least two hours worth of great quotes from all three of them. After hearing the first Justin, I thought there wasn't going to be much better inspirational speech THAN THAT. I was wrong. 2 more just as powerful showed up after. Then the lovely grandma looking lady started speaking and it was even getting better. She was just as articulate. She was GREAT. Then The second Justin came up and he was ABSOLUTELY inspirational and mesmerizing the entire time. No hesitation. Complete confidence. Extreme grounding.
If you get a chance go to the AP recorded version (good sound) and fast forward through some of it if you want to, but it's worth it. You also get a chance to see how Republicans sank their crusade of saving to decorum in the hall and that it was responsible for them to do it. Lol
