The allure of the BLUNDERBUSS was that it basically could shoot anything that would fit inside the bore. Broken chunks of metal, nails, coins, marbles, small rocks, creek gravel, and even a compressed Furbie. Glow in the dark projectiles might be cool too on the night shots. NEVER leave a gap between projectiles and the powder charge, whatever you shoot. Can turn gun barrel into a bomb. Watch out for ricochets on hard targets.
I've always wanted to see the myth tested of loading the forks and knives into one
Ha. That's a good one! @@fpnbrian
Unfortunately it’s an urban myth that they loaded a blunderbuss with things like nails, coins, rocks etc as doing that would damage the barrel and also potentially cause a blockage in the barrel resulting in the gun exploding
@@richardthomas3697 Sir, I refuse to let your facts and logic destroy the beautiful dream of ballistic furbies.

Great video, I live in Britain and happen to own a genuine 19 Century blunderbuss on which that is modelled. It has a brass barrel and is marked "Royal Mail" because it was issued to the postman of the time carrying mail on stage coaches. It has "Tower of London" proof marks because at some time in the late 19 Century it was converted from flintlock to percussion cap as they all were. My family "acquired" it when it fell off the back of a Royal Mail coach onto a road near the family home during a severe storm one dark night. Somehow we never got around to asking if the Royal Mail wanted their gun back, dunno why, must have slipped our memory.
Lucky you guys!

Fun fact from Denmark;
Flintlocks, and flintlock blunderbusses, are not restricted here.

You do need a "black powder license" to operate them, though.

When I was a kid, my father had a rifle collection. Sadly, our place got robbed while we were away, and the firearms were all taken. One of them, my favorite in fact, was a blunderbuss.
It was roughly the same size as yours, and was also a black powder flintlock, but the barrel was a lot different, as it had a very much larger muzzle. It really flared out from a similar size barrel as yours had back at the stock end to a real bell-shaped muzzle.
Never got to see it fired, so you can imagine my delight when you popped up with one!
Thanks, Scott!
Hey Scott, I went on over to your website and found your awesome KB stickers. I laughed through the whole video watching Scott have so much fun!!! RIP everything that got hit with the larger loads!
Hey Scott! you can see the blunderbuss knocked the side view mirror off. I don't know if it was from direct impact or if it was from just being shook by the impacts. But based on the rest of the spread I think there is a solid case for direct impact.
Did not expect to love this gun. I think the amount of light it produces is much fun to look at. Not the best tactical gun but the most fun.
I love watching Scott shoot the Blunderbuss and the Punt gun but I would like to see the loading procedure. Keep up the good work Scott!
Pretty sure CZcams doesn’t allow that type of stuff.
He can do it, but he’ll get strikes against his channel which may lead to CZcams disabling or deleting his channel. Sucks, but I don’t blame him for protecting his income.
Its simple powder shot ram the shot down make shure its all down nice a good push to be shure. Then pull hammer back half way then put the cap on nipple pull hammer all the way back aim pull triger BANG
@@blakew5672 wait what? why?
@@pacifistminigun3987
Pretty sure I’ve heard numerous guntubers mention that CZcams demonetizes or puts strikes against videos that show “gunsmithing” content. Things like assembling an AR upper/lower, building a gun from a parts kit, doing modifications, attaching accessories, or in this case the loading procedure for a black powder gun are some of the things they take issue with in the past couple years. Basically you can make content shooting it, the content just can’t have instructions about how to operate the gun or change it in any way.
Pay attention to major gun CZcams channels, you’ll probably notice you NEVER see them doing these things. These people built up a huge following that I’m sure pays them well. Having a video demonetized hurts (the other reason they usually blur red images that might be mistaken for blood). Getting strikes against your channel and having it removed and your past videos deleted by CZcams would ruin them.
@@blakew5672 oh... I see...
That's a dumb rule imo
I do enjoy how blunderbuss and muskets worked.
There is some attraction to muzzle loaded arms
They are kinda fascinating right it makes you appreciate how far the technology has come.
Blunderusses & muskets are different.
You always get more satisfaction when you work for the end result I feel.
Me too! A few months ago I completely restored my late dad's old muzzle loader that he built in the 1980's (refinished stock, re-blued barrel, polished brass). Now it's hanging on my wall cause it looks too pretty to shoot, but I'll eventually shoot it.
It’s cool because you can easily make gunpowder and projectiles for them too. It’s possible to do the same for modern firearms, but it’s a lot more complicated and dangerous, especially smokeless powder if you want it to be storage safe.
Fricken beast of weapon Scott but more importantly, your humor in and with it all. Just great man!
That "Chip O Matic 6000" totally LOL'ed the heaven out of me :).
