    Her career isn’t even over. She can still win championships at the next level. Super teams win championships in college. It’s the pro level where the goat conversation happens. Tom Brady never quarterbacked Michigan to a national title but he’s considered the goat because of what he did in the pros.

    I respect Caitlin so much. She couldve went to any powerhouse in the country but decided to represent her home state. Sadly Iowa doesnt have top recruits like some other schools do. Caitlin has opened the door for other college athletes who have genuine fire in their hearts, who in the end will bring their notoriety to the pros who should be welcoming any and all attention. • @LogoTimeClark
    @LogoTimeClark Před 2 měsíci

    Caitlin Clark doesn't need women's basketball to be a success in life, but women's basketball needs her. Clark breaks the unwritten rules of basketball. Lisa Bluder let her have the freedom to be the player she became. If she went to U Conn, Notre Dame, or any perennial final four participant, no one would ever know what a talent she is. So many of the best players should take the path that Clark took, be the best player on a team with good role players. It is hard to be a standout sitting 25 minutes a game.

  • @MagicTonyObama
    @MagicTonyObama Před 2 měsíci +1

    Call me crazy but I don't think Clark needed a championship to cement her legacy. Sure we'll look back and say she didn't win a chip but she already proved she could take a program that has only had two McDonalds all Americans ever and take down the giants of the game (SC 2023, LSU 2024, UCONN 2024). The national media attention has become annoying but media coverage is somewhat a reflection of the values of the majority. Her background, character, story, and electric play style all resonate more than the typical women's star basketball player. Is the coverage fair? probably not. Many claim it to be a race issue, which probably plays a part but we've seen black women get the spotlight in other sports (Serena, Biles, etc). From my perspective the Caitlin criticism from legends of the women's game and fans of other programs stems from the hate and lack of interest in the women's game over the last 20 years. The same people who were wrongly tearing down women's basketball are now supporting Caitlin which just rubs people the wrong way because they have the "We deserved respect to" mentality. This ultimately created a huge divide from the long term fans of the game and new fans. Race, sexuality, and culture also played a part in this imo. I think Iowa winning the championship would have ultimately brought more hate her way and added even more pressure on her pro career. Joining the Fever and playing with Boston will hopefully calm the waters in terms of how she is perceived and hopefully they win a bunch of championships together. Finally as a long time Iowa fan it sucked that we lost, but guess what, we are use to it and will continue to support our programs.

    Clark is amazing but one thing I have wondered with a player so talented why was the coach not able to recruit some better talent? No real big and a true point guard would have been a nice addition. I am UConn fan and I know why we were so thin this season, we lost five players and three starters to injury’s. Even I knew SC was going to win it all even before the season started. It was great and she has changed the women’s game for sure. Who knows maybe people will start watching the WNBA. I have watched women’s college basketball for over thirty years but I have had no interest in that league. Maybe I will check it out.

    For those thinking the Fever will automatically draft C Clark, best step back and think this over again. Taurasi leveled a threat from the players to the league. Clark may get drafted and a contract; but the “queens” of the game may make her life miserable and the team she is a part of a pariah. There are more of them than Stacy-types who recognize what Clark could mean for the league. That threatens the “queens” and they don’t have to play nice.
