    I watched when I heard of all the excitement of Clark. I watched every game I could and watched other teams when they talked about their stars. What I didn't like was the definite bias from sports commentators and current and former WNBA players. Saying crap even I knew was false. When others said she would be hated because she was white and straight, that's wrong in any way say it.

    CC doesn't need a college title because of the team she decided to go to. People laughed when she said she would take Iowa to a final four, but she will need an wnba title. If she gets a WNBA title within 3 years, she's my GOAT

    I think there is some pettiness and jealousy/sour grapes because of the amount of attention Clark gets, and some of these former players are mad they didn't get the flowers from the masses. Only thing that makes sense, because otherwise they are just talking crazy talk, which we should leave to Nick Wright and Skip Bayless.

    funny thing about Caitln and Paige B. Pre-season as freshman players, Geno said the press was all PAIGE PAIGE PAIGE. But at the end of the season, they shared an award. • @jihyotwice3159

    I don't know why WNBA players and former players don't welcome her more as it can only raise the WNBA to gain some of the 14mill views that they got in the NCAA tournament. Especially former players like Stacey that doesn't lose or gain anything personally from Caitlin playing.
    All they had to do was to say that they are excited play against her and see her develop. Now all their BS of stating the obvious and hostility shown is now tuning me more off to WNBA games. It's hard enough to watch WNBA games with all their misses and lack of scoring. To see Breanna Stewart, Kaycee Plum, and even old Sue Bird bash Caitlin, where even NBA greats like Stephen Curry, LeBron, and Luka praise Caitlin, it shows just why no one watches WNBA. To see the entitlement of WNBA players and their d1ck measuring prowess, puts me in awe of just how are they guarding a sport no one watches.
    If I were Caitlin, I would forgo playing in the WNBA and just play overseas. The pay is better and they won't be as hostile.

    • @benoitwaffle5439
      @benoitwaffle5439 Před měsícem +2

      Clark is getting the kind of star treatment that Plum, Stewart, etc have never really been afforded, so it hurts their pride. Those are great players, and they were great in college, yet never received this kind of coverage. Part of it was that for years the UConn women's program was just an assembly line of great players that no one player received this kind of attention, and that program's dominance made the sport uninteresting to the casual audience. They also probably don't like people simply assuming because Clark has been a phenomenal college player it means she will be one of the best players in the WNBA right away. It is a very difficult league, and I am sure that the stars will be aiming to put up big numbers against Indy to make a point.
      Is it fair to Caitlin? No. She didn't ask for the attention. She elevated a program in a way that has been very rare at the women's college level, and did so in a style that has brought more people to watch than ever before. I have never heard so many guys saying "this is like when I first saw Steph." It really has been stunning. There is nothing wrong with that, but I also understand that the players who were also dominant and great in college yet didn't get this kind of attention have some level of resentment.

      @@benoitwaffle5439 I am pretty sure when they say Caitlin is the Goat they meant in college (which was somewhat proven when she broke the scoring record) and no one meant in the WNBA which she has never played in. That is like saying LeBron or Kobe would be successful coming out of high school. Or a Heisman Trophy winner would be successful in the NFL.
      Nobody equated winning the NCAA Tournament for men would equate being successful in the NBA, yet they mocked Caitlin not winning one.
      One reason why I think people loved watching the Women NCAA Tournament was because it had drama and scoring. Nobody watches WNBA games because of lack of scoring and all the bigs like to shoot the 3 because they can't dunk. Oh, also have you seen the amount of airballs and missed layups happens. Even the WNBA All Star game has such a low scoring snooze fest.
      Caitlin will change the WNBA games because she can shoot 3s and have her team actually have an Inside outside game. I don't know much about the WNBA team but would watch Caitlin's team only for the scoring.
      I can also understand why the WNBA players are jealous but having them say that is turning me off. Unlike the NBA Players who support Caitlin. Sure, not all but they are saying that just to support people to watch the WNBA games. Unlike the WNBA players who only demand equal play without actually making the games more exciting.

      @@jihyotwice3159 No, a lot of the comments I see, there are people saying Caitlin is the best women's basketball player ever, some even say not just in college and the W but "in the world." They don't say in college. I think saying "in college" or "offensively" is a legit argument.

    • @jihyotwice3159
      @jihyotwice3159 Před měsícem +1

      @@SeshatPG82 like I said above, I didn't mean to include Stacey Dalles in my comments. Stacey has been supportive of Caitlin. Just like Dawn Staley (coach of South Carolina), who actually thanked Caitlin.
      I meant comments by Sue Bird, Breanna Stewart, Diana Taurasi, Sheryl Swoops, and Britney Grimes. Compare them to the comments by LeBron, Steph Curry, and Jokic. It's ironic because we all know there will be adjustments and we need to be humble, but yet there was no problem adjusting for Diana Taurasi, who plays in the same position (PG), and immediately became an all-star.
      Which WNBA players appeared on SNL and already have advertising sponsors contracts (State Farm and Nike)? I hope Indiana Fever pays Caitlin a contract commensurate to her filling the seats and lifting the WNBA to its first profitable season. The other players can just sit on the bench and shut up and dribble.

    When people want to say that Clark can't be the greatest because she didn't get a championship, it is a real insult to what Dawn Staley and South Caroline have done... USC is 80-1 in their last 81 games with 2 titles, that loss was to Clark or it would have been 3 titles.

    As learned from many disciplines, to become a your best, you must beat your best everytime. Met a professional gambler, who advice said, to be a winner, he record yourself get and learn everything get as much advice can even if have pay large sums. There is also a limits, but always try beat yourself. If I were Catlin I would call Larry Bird and Magic Johnson for several reasons, and few players like Harlem Globetrotters. To say choked is just plain stupid. Two of them including Caitlin played all 40 minutes. Thin bench that contributed nothing offensively and facing not only 6’7” but top 10 SC players were all top 30 recruits out of HS! To only be down 4 with 3.5 minutes remaining and legs basically gone was a miracle. If SC had lost that game it would have been the biggest upset of all time. Best team won, plain and simple.
