Retired and on a budget, plan for this year is one 5-gram gold bar per month.
I wish the buffalos would come out with fractionals. I've been picking up quarters and a half oz AGEs. I preordered a half for 1000 a few weeks back. I feel like I got a pretty good price looking at the prices of them today. I'm waiting for another good dip to order another quarter or half but wish I had just got another back at that cheaper spot. I'm definitely in accumulation mode so the more that price drops the better.
yeah, me too. just write a quick email to your congressman and senators. i wrote the mint and they sent a letter stating to contact my congressman and senators. if enough of us do this, they may finally listen
I love the mint tubes for each of the 6 silver bullion coins I stack. I like my gold pieces each in its own capsule and those in the clear tubes.
Great video.
Love gold. I like all sovereign gold.
Great Gold Coins My Friend!
Boom!!! 👍3rd..
Boom! Thanks Gold Aztec!
I agree keep it simple
Absolutely! Thanks Nic!!
Got me some gold on it's way to me as of today. It's like Christmas in Januaray. The U.S. mint really needs to get it together and start making Buffalos in fractional sizes. I don't buy many of their products, but I do like the Buffalo.
Thank you sir.. Did you see my fractional video from today about my 1/10th coins?
@@SilverWolverine95 I saw the notification. I'm so behind Bro. It's on my to do list. I have to hit the gym tonight, cook, figure out my new webcam to do lives, set up my Stream Yard, do mail calls, shoot a video. I'll watch it tonight. YT is starting to take up a lot of time ha ha and I'm not even at 1K. 4 away from 600 though. Getting there.
@@constitutionalstacker5701 you have a lot on your plate..
@@SilverWolverine95 Yes Sir. I work 7 days a week too. Busy Dude.
Ya! The mintage numbers are so much better on the gold!! I can't believe people buy anything else! Stack what you want! I want that 1/4 eagle.
I didn‘t know that fractional Buffalos were offered in the past. Keep it simple is a good advice. 👍🏼 I prefer 24 ct. gold coins. Great video.
You get taxes more for less than 24K correct?
@@SilverWolverine95 Gold is tax free if bars have a purity of at least 99.5% and coins 90%. I prefer 24 ct. because you lose potential buyers here if you buy 22 ct. Jewelers just buy 24 ct.
My favorite gold is MORE! Preesh Wilbur! Keep Hustlin
Mine too lol
Gold is gold...popular wont matter when shtf
The U.S. Mint isn't the only game in town. Eagles, buffalos and lady liberty aren't the only things to stare at on a piece of gold. The world is well connected and there are buyers of quality coins throughout. If you own one from another part of the globe and if it's graded, you'll get fair value when the time comes to sell. You may not be able to drive down the street and sell it in 5 minutes at your LCS, but with a little patience you'll be able to sell it for its fair value, including the numismatic component. In the meantime you can enjoy a few coins that are unique, appeal to your sense of beauty, and make you happy. Just the way I view things. (By the way, I'm not a financial advisor. Everyone should carefully assess the best course of action for their own unique circumstances.)
Thanks for the comment.. I believe that's key. I want what I can sell in 5 minutes verses waiting or the most liquid when it comes to stacking Gold or Silver but collectibles I view different. I am also not grading bullion. Thanks
Excellent comment. Thanks.
*I STARTED WAITING A 5g BAR PER MONTH.. THEN I WANTED TO GET A 10.. BOUGHT EAGLES, NOW I’VE SETTLED W THE 1/4oz BRITANNIA EACH MONTH.. HAS SECURITY FEATURES, IS 24ct & THE PRICES GROW WITH THE OUNCE PRICES*
Fractionals are fabulous 👍 Keep it simple: tenths and quarter ounce. Watch for deals. Gold is gold, don't worry about origin
Thanks! Did you see my 1/10th video from today?
I see the Buffalo and the Eagle as equivalent products. However, your point about current trends is very valid. At present, AGEs will garner a slightly higher sell-back. Whether this will be true in years to come is anyone's guess. If we are looking at fractional, the Eagle will do better in the US than its international competitors. Outside the US, this is not the case. Plan accordingly. Personally, I go with a mix of one ounce sizes of Canadian and US, and I plan to include some Brits eventually. I like 1 oz in order to avoid premiums, but I can certainly see the sense of fractional in terms of both affordable acquisition and greater ease of liquidation.
True.. For some season other countries look down at anything under 24K..
The collector in me tends to diversify. Love the gold
Nice good stack my friend.
Informative video.
I agree with you. I only own 2 buffalos, and one is a proof. The AGE makes up the bulk of my stack and most of those are fractional. I will continue to keep my AGE's in capsules though!
Nice selection of gold you have on display. I collect 1/4 oz but will probably switch to full oz soon to save on premiums. I favor the Maple, Britannia, and Krug.
At one time the U.S. was shipping gold to Australia to have the Perth Mint make the blanks. My LCS pays the same for 1 oz gold maples as they do for 1 oz gold bars. I prefer whatever gold is cheaper and gold eagles and buffs have too high a premium.
I definitely don't do it the simple way. lol But as a pure stacker, you are right. Get the most common recognizable pieces. Nice display sir.
Hi, Wolv. I like the Buffalo. It is my fav coin design. I love the Reverse Proof Libertad. *TYU*
Gold Reverse proof Libertad lots of money... I was looking at them a few months ago
New Sub here. Great video. Very informative. Thank You
Durability isn't a factor when the coin sits in my collection.
Thanks SW.
Looking to stack 1/2 AGE’s.
Why is it the least popular AGE?
Seems to me that it would be a good choice due to the lower premiums than 1/4, and 1:10, and you don’t have to put out as much money at one time as when you buy the full ounce.
Thoughts?
KISS
The mint would be wise to bring back the fractional gold Buffalo, but…well we know the mint is clueless so I won’t hold my breath
Premiums are killer. $60-$70 for 1/10 and 1 oz is almost $200 premiums over spot.
Gold buffalos are my favorite gold coin. I was willing to pay a premium for one gold proof and one reverse proof buffalo. The premiums on all fractionals takes away their desirability in my opinion. I believe it is better to save for an ounce than to buy the fractionals. The problem with that strategy is that fluctuating premiums could eliminate the benefit from lower premiums. Thanx for sharing that info about where the mint buys its gold - very interesting.
1oz is definitely the lowest premium. Thank You!
If I had to choose…I’ll take the 24kt and lower mintages of the Gold Buffalo (if they are the same price). I like the design of the AGE better though
I was buying 1/10 Gold Eagle's last summer an can sell any or all of them today for a slight profit accordingly to the posted online buy back prices
i stick with buffalos and eagles when it comes to gold. 1/4 is my favorite fractional size. however, i just picked up another 2021 type 1 1/10 as it was priced really nice. although not extremely rare, the 2021 type 1 1/10th has the lowest mintage of all 1/10th age’s at 150,000. the collector in me just wants to pick those up when i find them cheap. otherwise, it’s 1/4 and 1 ounce eagles and of course buffalos that i buy the most of
I like to buy what I can even though it's so tempting to buy high premium gold because they look really nice they could be hard to resell
Thank You!
Never bought any yet. Does every coin come in a plastic shell like you have ? Is that part of the premium ? Or do you get buy the coin and then pay extra for the plastic case which is just a personal option ?
Typically, coin dealers will sell the coins to include some kind of holder: a tube, a 2x2, or an airtight.
@@andyreznick thanks, I'm heading to the local coin exchange today to get started .
My LCS sells the capsules for $1 each but they have giving me many for free after buying a coin.. I plan on moving my 22k gold to US Mint tubes
Sorry if this is a dumb question. When you sell your gold Eagles do scratches affect premium price. Thank you
Yes. In my experience, a beat up bullion coin will get you a little less.
At my LCS not unless it's really bad
@@andyreznick thank you
@@SilverWolverine95 thank you
Great minds think alike... That's also my plan for stacking gold with my savings. I do have a question though. I cannot for my life get an answer on this and it's really got a bug up my @$$! Why are the 1/2oz gold eagles considered the unpopular of the gold eagle sizes and how hard are they to liquidate vs the smaller sizes?
I am a fairly new stacker so take this with a grain of salt. The only reason I believe it would be harder to sell a half ounce AGE would be the price of it. Many many people do not have over a thousand dollars extra saved up. Where $250 or $550 is easier to absorb into a budget.
@@oldone58 Maybe so, but that doesn’t explain why the full ounce Gold Eagle is easier to sell than the half ounce. That’s what I’m trying to figure out.
I figure if people are willing to buy a Half ounce then they are just buying the full. In my opinion the 1/4 ounce is the sweet medium. I just did a video on 1/10 Gold today. If you have not seen it please check out out...
What about just buying 1oz bars, instead of coins?
Do you buy from the US mint?
US Mint doesn't sell Bullion to the public. Only collectors/numismatic products
Premiums are to high on the American gold.
I have zero eagles in any denomination. 1 gold buffalo, and a bunch of britannia's in various sizes. If it's not .999 or .9999 gold, it aint for me 🙂 Silver has become a bit of a rolling joke... so a wee bit of gold is way better than the equivalent silver in my mind. Too hard to store all that silver. Price of silver is pretty much the same as it was in 2008, so folks that think silver is a hedge of inflation are not good at math.. Gold however...
I only bought 24K gold only because I'm Asian.
Why not buy the tubes that hold the capsules?🤔
I have them
@@SilverWolverine95 Drop them all in there. It still will make a beautiful display. I’m catching up on stacking. Started in 21. Missed 22 and am back in the game with my measles funds. Sorry if I’m behind.
It's kind of erotic talking about freeing the Gold
Keep it simple, don't buy fractional gold...
I did a video on 1/10 Gold today... Please check it out
