Great series! Thanks for putting in the work and sharing your knowledge and enthusiasm for the hobby!
Great series. Thank you pulling these episodes together.
Awesome video and invaluable info condensed into 12 minutes. Thank you!
thanks as usual for this brad great work
Outstanding!
Great Job!
I've got Bing Crosby's personal subscription issue of that Clemente cover when Bing was part owner of the Pirates! I've got the first Mantle newsstand issue with the missing pages. I've got nearly every SI up to '00 and can't wait to start getting them graded. My favorite SI of all time and I don't even think it made your 100 list is Lombardi getting carried off the field after winning the 2nd Super Bowl. That was a beautiful cover. I've got every swimsuit up to '06 and I damn sure woulda put one of Christie Brinkley's in there somewhere!
I have a Michael Jordan #1 with a detached cover. Is it worth getting graded-its a subscription.
An MJ first cover, subscription, with detached cover, would likely grade in the 2.0-3.0 range. Those typically sell for around $50. So all in all, once you take into account grading fee, shipping costs, and sellers fees...probably not worth grading.
Your list is flawed. Not a single swimsuit edition. The only frickin' issue ever worth buying and you don't list any of them.
Sorry you didn't like the list. Would love to see yours.
@@sportsmags 2006 - Lots of girls, only bikini bottoms
2017 Kate in a handbra... ftw
1989 Kathy's eyes
2014 More of Kate, because... well, she has more
any from the late 1970's through the late 2010's are all pretty good and beat any of their other covers, hand down.
Don't bother looking at the ones from 2020 and on. I think they started to feel sorry for the women who wouldn't normally grace the cover of a swimsuit edition and ran with those (Martha Stewart? really?)
@reluctantuser6971 I enjoy most of those covers, but this list was based on the most collectible and potentially valuable. The swimsuit editions are plentiful because they were so popular, so there isn't the level of scarcity with them that there are with many of the other issues. No swimsuit copy has sold for over $1,000 in the past two years, whereas there have been over 250 sales of $1k+ of the sports covers.
