A couple of months ago my 2000 Ranger wouldn't change the temperature with the heat control knob. I tried to get the actuator out and of course mine has the screws to hold it in. The rear screw is ridiculously hard to remove I couldn't do it. As in this video I got the two forward screws out and took a big screwdriver and pried up the actuator and broke the rear screw retainer off. I was able to disassemble the actuator, cleaned it out, put it back it with using only to two front screws and now it works like new. Thanks for the great idea!

I have been trying for hours with multiple tool attachments to get 3rd bolt out..still haven't..I need 3 hands and or a very slim hand...Have to have mirror..correct lighting and right tool..Going to try again today...and if I ever get it out..I'm going to add a spacer to 3rd bolt to be able to access it better if I ever need to.
