In the past, there existed an isolated view of this act being an innovation. However, Allamah ‘Abul-Fath Muhammad ibn al-Imam (rahimahullah) - demise: 745 A.H. - has stated that those ‘Ulama that have refuted this have done so because they were not aware of these ahadith. (Silahul-Mu’min pg.157) To classify this as an innovation after being made aware of the Ahadith that support it is a foul blunder! In fact, the narration of Musannaf ‘Abdul-Razaq establishes the fact that this remained the practice (ta’amul) of the ‘Ulama of the ummah as well. And Allah Ta’ala Knows Best

I wipe my face not because i think its mandatory but it is a refex because i feel calm when i do so. But i also dont make it a practice in case ppl think otherwise
I’m done. I read a sunni book where it clearly said it’s sunnah to wipe over face and sometimes body aswelll. I been doing it all my life and seen sunni people around all UK mosques doing it. So not sure where this brudda is getting this i for from.
The companions used to take baraka from the Prophet Muhammad (S) himself when he does wudu/ablution & wipe their faces with the water that dribs from the him, and also rub their hand on the mimbar/sermon stage after the Prophet finishes from the saying his lecture/sermon. Sunni sources mention that hadith & describe these acts of the companions (ra), it's just that ignorance gets in the way & we dont revise our sources. May Allah bless the ummah
Its all difference of opinions. And if the prophet never did it and ppl do, does it make it bidah? And no one is saying we have to so its down to the individual. And no evidence to say that wiping ones face that duas are not then accepted. Ppl make dua as you wish. Simple!
I think this guy applies to salafis. People who follow the Hanafi school of thought like myself believe this to be the way of the Sunnah. I don't think anyone today has any authority in judging the 4 imaams based on the hadith compiled by the respected scholars such as bukhari who came way after these imaams. These imaams had a lot more information and were the tabieens or tabi tabieens. Take nothing away from bukhari, muslim etc but you cannot declare the opinions of the imaams as invalid unless it directly goes against the Quran and Mutawatir Hadith.
Based on Hadith, my mufti said wiping your face when making dua is sunnah. Doing that means duas are being answered. I’m not sure where you’re getting your references from - please share because someone in the comments shared the Hadith that our nabi saw would wipe his face after making dua. The body wiping I don’t know about but we can wipe our face after dua.

This act is not a biddah or something which is not permissible.. This is in the ummah through the lineage of Muhammad (saw) (Ijmah).. and moreover there is a hadith related to it in Imam Bukhari's book al adab al mufrad.. and also many scholars agree that it is not a act of bidah but sunah of nabi(saw) which is proven by the act of sahabas(ra)

Listen to dr.zakir naiks answer, he list the scholars on both sides of this argument, it’s permissible to do it and some scholars say it’s recommended.
And everyone should differentiate between “duaa” and the legitimate dhikrs to protect you during the day. The last one is from the Sunnah to wipe what you reach from your body
I have a question Muhammad. If we should not attach strong emotions with dua then why would prophet Muhammad s.a.w used to cry while making dua? Can you clear the confused JazakAllah
So after prayer I can raise my hands like that then do my duas n say ameen after every dua I make then end it with rabana atina fid dunya hasantan++++ then say ameen n just put my hands down without wiping on face?
Aisha (rah) narrates: "When the Prophet (pbuh) went to bed, he would blow on his hands, recite Muavvizateyn (Surahs of Falak and Nas) and Kulhuvallahu ahad, rub his hands on his face and body and repeat this three times. When he got sick, he would order me to do the same thing to him." (Bukhari, Fedâilu'l-Qur'an 14, Medicine 39, Da'avât 12; Muslim, Salam 50, (2192); Tirmidhi, Da'avât 21, (3399); Ebu Davud, Medicine 19) In the narration of Umar (ra): “When the Messenger of God raised his hands to pray, he would not let them go without putting them on his face.” (Tirmidhi, Da'avât, 11) This narration shows the legitimacy of rubbing the hands on the face after prayer. People should not accuse each other of wrongdoing on a subject where there are different opinions among scholars. There is a consensus among scholars that it is possible to act with weak hadiths in fazail-i âmal.
Raising hands while making dua after salah is not prescribed. It says in Fatawa al-Lajnah al-Daimah: “Making du’a after the obligatory prayers is not Sunnah if it is done by raising the hands, whether that is done by the imam alone or a member of the congregation alone, or it is done by them both together. Rather that is bid’ah, because it was not narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) or any of his Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) did that. With regard to making du’a without doing that (raising the hands etc.), there is nothing wrong with it, because there are some ahadith concerning that.” (Fatawa al-Lajnah al-Daimah, 7/103)
Sheikh hassan al hakeem once said, dua after prayers is innovation, its not in the Hadith or Quran. Is is true? He also said prophet muhammad (P.B.U.H) never made supplication after prayers, he (P.B.U.H) only made supplication during his prayers was concluded.
Why are you calling upon prophet Muhammad (ﷺ)? Surely not to ask him for things? You should be calling upon Allah SWT when asking for anything. Calling upon anyone except Allah SWT for anything is shirk. I'm not claiming you are committing shirk without context, but I'm just letting you know.

@@oliispyderYa akhi al kareem there are many ahadith, Aathar of the Sahabah and the Tabi'een that they would wipe their face after Du'a. Hence why many of our past Fuqaha ruled it as something Recommended. And Imam Ibn Hajr that mentioned that all the Ahadith, and Aathar which become a lot of narrations, makes the act Hasan Li Ghayrihi in Hadith science. So without a doubt akhi, this act has a basis in the religion, and one should not be reprimanded from doing it.

salafi. don't make the religion a socio political movement. follow the sunnah, and interpret them as you would like. don't split the ummah through extremes. "the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, say, "A group of people will appear among you whose prayer, fasting and deeds will make you think little of your own prayer, fasting and deeds. They will recite the Qur'an, but it wil not get past their throats, and they will pass through the deen like an arrow passes through game. You look at the arrowhead, and you see nothing, and you look at the shaft, and you see nothing, and you look at the flights, and you see nothing. And you are in doubt about the notch." It's not incorrect to wipe face after making dua. It's a matter of dispute among scholars, you can't discard it totally.
The question is did the prophet s.a.w do it? If he didn’t and every single time you do dua you wipe the face. Then isn’t this an innovation ?

Thereafter, he would wipe them on his blessed face. Imam Abdur-Razzaq says, ‘I have seen (my teacher) Imam Ma’mar (rahimahullah) doing so and I also do so.’ (Musannaf Abdur-razzaq vol.2 pg.247; Hadith 3234, 3235 )
3. also see narrations of Sayyiduna Abdullah Ibn ‘Abbas and Sa’ib ibn Yazid (radiyallahu’anhum) in Sunan Abi Dawud Hadith 1480, 1487.
(Silahul-Mu’min pg.157)
To classify this as an innovation after being made aware of the Ahadith that support it is a foul blunder!
In fact, the narration of Musannaf ‘Abdul-Razaq establishes the fact that this remained the practice (ta’amul) of the ‘Ulama of the ummah as well.

But it seems like a comforting movement than anything else. I could be in the Hanafi madhab as we are Hanafi. In that case it will be completely permissible, but I don't know
I've read about this and my understanding is although it's not recommended there is no problem with doing it considering the sahaba and people after them did it

There are scholars who said it's permissible. There is a difference of opinion.
Please give me reference to Hadees so I can confirm this sunnat myself from Hadees book.
First of all we don't have any hadees that we should wife our face after dua and secondly if we don't have any daleel of wiping faces after dua the what will u do? Nothing right! 👍
There are many ahadees on wiping but all are weak, but scholars say that when there are many weak ahadith that matan that thing discussed in the Hadith becomes strong
And that's why it's recommended to wipe face.

So what do you do after the Dua? Leave the hands normally? What you said how to do the Dua.
When your finished making dua just put them down as normal that's it.

Does anyone have references? Because i often see and hear the opposite

Yes correct
Aisha (rah) narrates:
"When the Prophet (pbuh) went to bed, he would blow on his hands, recite Muavvizateyn (Surahs of Falak and Nas) and Kulhuvallahu ahad, rub his hands on his face and body and repeat this three times. When he got sick, he would order me to do the same thing to him." (Bukhari, Fedâilu'l-Qur'an 14, Medicine 39, Da'avât 12; Muslim, Salam 50, (2192); Tirmidhi, Da'avât 21, (3399); Ebu Davud, Medicine 19)
In the narration of Umar (ra):
“When the Messenger of God raised his hands to pray, he would not let them go without putting them on his face.” (Tirmidhi, Da'avât, 11)
This narration shows the legitimacy of rubbing the hands on the face after prayer.
People should not accuse each other of wrongdoing on a subject where there are different opinions among scholars. There is a consensus among scholars that it is possible to act with weak hadiths in fazail-i âmal.
@@emk1254 where is it mentioned he made dua then rubbed his face
Raising hands while making dua after salah is not prescribed.
It says in Fatawa al-Lajnah al-Daimah:
“Making du’a after the obligatory prayers is not Sunnah if it is done by raising the hands, whether that is done by the imam alone or a member of the congregation alone, or it is done by them both together.

What's your cap called ?
Sheikh hassan al hakeem once said, dua after prayers is innovation, its not in the Hadith or Quran. Is is true? He also said prophet muhammad (P.B.U.H) never made supplication after prayers, he (P.B.U.H) only made supplication during his prayers was concluded.
Should we place our right hand to chest when calling prophet Muhammad name?
Why are you calling upon prophet Muhammad (ﷺ)? Surely not to ask him for things? You should be calling upon Allah SWT when asking for anything. Calling upon anyone except Allah SWT for anything is shirk. I'm not claiming you are committing shirk without context, but I'm just letting you know.

Sayyiduna ‘Umar ibnul-Khattab (radiyallahu’anhu) reports that when Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam) would spread out his hands in supplication (du’a), he would not leave them down until he wiped them on his face.’
(Sunan al-Tirmidhi Hadith 3386)
🔹 At-Tirmithi continues, “This hadith is Sahih ghareeb
( We do not know it save from the hadith of Hammad ibn ‘Eesaa, and he alone narrates this [from Hanthala]. He has few hadith and the people reported from him. And Hanthalah ibn Abi Sufyaan al-Jumahiy is thiqah(highly trustworthy), and he was declared thiqah by Yahyaa ibn Sa’id Al-Qattaan.
🔹 Hafiz Ibn Hajar (rahimahullah) has stated that there are various other narrations that support this and that this Hadith is hasan (soundly authentic)

Narrated by Abdur-Razzaq (RA) in his Musnaf [2/247] that Mumar (RA) narrated from Zuhri (RA) that the Prophet (Sallaho Alaihe Wassallam) was raising his hands upto his chest for dua and then wiping them on his Chest.

Abdur-Razzaq (RA) then says that indeed I saw Mumar (RA) doing this (wiping hands on the face after dua) and I also do it.

There is a hadith about its permissibility in al adab ul mufrab by imam bukhari with the chain of narrations frn bukhari itself... So do tehqeeq abt it then say it is permissible kr not... Wallahu alam

Y’all worried bout the wrong things lmao saudi occupies the Hijaz and Islam and y’all worried bout dua wiping 😂
Fix yourself before you try to fix others.
Rightly said
Never lend your ear to a Wahhabi
And azkar?
salafi. don't make the religion a socio political movement. follow the sunnah, and interpret them as you would like. don't split the ummah through extremes. And you are in doubt about the notch." (muwatta malik book 15,hadith 11)
So basically when u done don’t wipe it on u and instead bring ur hands up ig I’m confused
Just don't wipe your face with the hands after dua. Raising your hands and begging Allah for what you need is ok but after that just put your hands down no need to wipe your face with them
🥎
So we don't wipe the hands on face please tell it correctly
