Assalamu 'alaykum brother, according to source that I read, you must or should say "sami Allahu liman hamidah" once you are already fully standing, not before standing, since what the Prophet (upon whom be peace) used to do is that he would say it (sami' Allahu liman hamidah) once his spinal cord becomes straight(meaning when he is fully standing already). And also Imam Ahmad (may Allah have mercy upon him) also explain this and said that it should or must be said once you are already completely standing. Source:Bulooghul-maram
