What's so hilarious is that initially the hull floor was only 20mm, so you did have kind of a lower plate/weakspot that could be overmatched, but then WG buffed it to 55 mm. No words...
It also used to have worse accuracy, but they buffed its turret traverse dispersion aim time and dispersion making it now match the maus in terms of accuracy and gun handling, as compared to its previously sub par gun handling. meaning this tank is basically just a better russian maus that goes twice as fast with better armour and gun

I remember it was either the Maus or the E-100, but for a couple of patches, the hull floor had a forward plate of 150mm, while the rest of the floor was 250mm! I had noticed for a month or so that my Arty shells were doing Jack shit to the tank in question on most near misses, but figured it was bad RNG. It was when I saw a light tank trying to finish off one that got stuck on their said by shooting into the bottom and bouncing half the shots that I realized that no, the armor was ridiculously thick for some reason all of a sudden.
@@CFox.7 when the 279 appear in the game, he was pretty good, but « everybody » was able to destroy him without « big » problem with gold and all of this shit and this tank finally wasn’t OP, just good, then they decided to buff him, bcause why not ? And for no reason he got some buff of armor and accuracy, and now u have this. Bru.
It doesn’t matter if you were in a 279e, having to do 8.7k damage and still losing the game is world of tanks in a nutshell

@@NuclearGamer101 If someone plays in a platoon of 3 279e's then you know they're fucking garbage. You want to play this tank solo to have the best average damage. I have encountered multiple platoons like these and no matter which tank i was playing, the 279e's were shit and i absolutely destroyed them, because they expose their weakspots.
@@le4chehenry324 I think I played against that Czechs or Slovak CZcamsr idk his name, they won every round MM was both times in their favour with city maps and I had bots for teammates that did 0 dmg...
How is this game even relevant in 2022?
When going against a player in a platoon in that situation, you have to be extra careful about knocking anything over, as the platoon mates can zoom out and watch for movement on the map... it is possible the platoon mate saw you knock over stuff in the cap and had an idea where you were hiding due to that. Actually, it doesn't have to be a platoon mate.
They seriously need to undo the HE shell changes. That also buff this tank.
Edit: For the HE Haters, I am sorry you don't like fun. But I do. So hate all you want, as its always the same kind of person who whines about HE. Lol

The game is more than just driving into a hull down position and pushing W and S repeatedly to throw of aim. Type 5 was stupid cause it only had overbuffed HE and super over buffed expensive HE. It should have better HE on 140mm, and didnt need the 15cm at all.
The thing that is bad for the game are people buying tier VIII premium tanks and not demanding gold ammo nerfs. WG should introduce economic camo similar to WoWS that gives tree tanks a reason to play them after you ended grinding it.

Buff Alfa Damage 440 to 490
buff Gun depression 5 to 10

I still think the T95/FV Chieftain is a much more OP tank. When I play my E 100 I fear much more the Chief with its super stable gun handling and OP hulldown turret than the 279's HEAT with almost no depression.
The most OP is Obj 705A hull down king

and the 279E Is a direct upgrade to the maus.
It feels that is longer than two years in this game because this tank is for at least 3 and a 1/2 years in the game. I got my hands on it in the spring of 2019, and it was already available for 7-8months by then...so check a little!

For me chieftain is way scarier, 279e is only good against ap,when someone loads gold upperplate is butter and has 2 cupolas everyone hits,the chief has inpenetrable turret and upperplate,so in a hulldown spot,which you will meet the most chieftain is inpenetrable,and 279 isnt,also 279e goes ~30 but chieftain 45-50

Dudes a good player, its very possible he could have read the situation, or even put himself in QBs shoes, QB even said they were in a discord together so its very possible the guy was saying stuff like "well he could be sitting here" or even "maybe hes sitting here, its what i would do" or something like "watch out here. Those bushes are pretty thick to see through" Even the ping on the hill behind QB was a good idea, not necessarily because he knew he would come up behind QB, but because it put his vision above most of the buildings, therefore allowing him to spot him easier, rather then a proxy spot, actually a very good idea and a smart play, some people such as QB really try to predict movements of enemy players, try it yourself, youd be surprised how often you can read an enemy if you take the time to slow down and think.

@@eliasguevara3346 Well to say they were stream sniping without any actual proof that they did is frankly unfair to them, they never did anything that seemed to sketchy or even to far fetched. Everything they did is a possible outcome. They never blind fired QB, they never did anything of the sort that would suggest that they were. Everything the TVP player did, with a second opinion from another good player WITH COMMS, is something that very much could have happened
I always thought this tank looked like a BEEG Sherman. The hull shape (ignoring the 4 tracks) and the turret really remind me of it.
I don't think it's even much taller than a Sherman; it's just wider and longer.
@@JWQweqOPDH I don't know how, but you're correct. I've just checked, 279e is 30cm (a foot) LOWER than an M4 Sherman. It also weighs twice as much.
His platoon mate knew exactly where you were on the hill before you took out the grille and then knew exactly where you were in the cap. Seems like his friend was the stream sniper and was helping Monster.

I want to thank you for the help in finishing my TD-8 mission. I've been stuck on it for 4 years and finally accomplished it after watching one of your videos. It really gave me inspiration and so I re-bought the ol' SU 100M1 and just put on the top gun and engine. Forgot to train my crew up and forgot to put on equipment and consumables. First game in it got me through the clearing and I was gobsmacked hahaha.
I remember when i hit the coupola of this tank with my IS-3A and killed a tryhard... Got a hate message afterwards. Good times.
I’ve tried to do the missions to get this but I’m not even close however every time I meet it it just wipes the floor with my team and charged into us, the other team gets a free win. It’s a disgusting tank.
I quite like the way that in most games I play, if there is one of these, it will be focused down so hard it doesn't stay alive long. Often that leads to a win because the opposite teams "carrying unicorn" is no longer there to inspire them.
ETA: Some of my more smug moments have been one-shotting them with my CGC Arta.

Yeah. It should get 4 more degrees of gun depression and at least 40mm more pen on it's standard rounds and 70mm more for it's HEAT.
That way it could stand up to the Chieftain.
and make it an autoreloader, the is-3a kinda, with the compensation mechanic of italian heavies. and give it 30% base camo
And make it 30 kmh faster and give it 420 base view range so it can scout
And add the additional tracks mechanic, because it actually has additional tracks

Funny thing is that his platoon mate, pings your exact localization in the bush where you killed grille. And later on he pings the hill behind you. Stinky cheese.
So the first ping was for the obvious spot QB's going to be and the 2nd ping was for the "best" (in that situation) spot to approach the cap.

Quickybaby, could you please do a series on suggested buffs for tanks that have been left behind by power creep? I have a T69, but don't play enough to afford using gold all the time. It needs a serious buff in its normal ammo penetration. It makes a fun tank that I always wanted to get feel useless.
279e is a real tank proto-type...but WG tweeked the shape and armor to turn it into a steel beast. Of course it's Russian.
279e Is actually an Obj 726 but renamed.
Just watched your look back on the vk before it was nerfed. I still remember when wot first started giving the option to by gold rounds with ether gold or a disgusting amount of credits. Wot was like “Here you can buy full load out of gold rounds for 100 gold or 250k credits.”
The only tank that's having thick upper front plate as weaknesses (excluding cupolas)
This tank exist but its different, its much stronger, IF it was added into game it would be unkillable
Just unlocked it and it is so sad, that it is not my playstyle and I am always matched in T10 only ...
Meanwhile, over in War Thunder, I'm fairly regularly getting 10 kill games in the 279. But it's actually the version that's in Kubinka rather than whatever this thing is. And I regularly clown on XM-1s with it.

Getting close to getting it, but Bloc-2 The Diamond Armor (Get 4 Shellproof awards in 10 battles) is kicking my butt right now. After that and the Bloc 15 still have 5 more to grind in Coalition.

Please throw in the SU-101 into the mix, it has so much accuracy now and it hits 3 to 4 out of 5 shots on my 112's cupolas at 400 m.

I love it when I find 279Es. They're cocky as all hell till you start penning their upper plat with heat. They're like WHAT IS THIS?! When trying to reverse away.

I remember one game a 279E thought he was invincible especially since i was in an st-2 which has a mediocre 310 gold pen. but i was firing standard rounds. he thought he could just sit in front of me, until i tapped him in the cupola for 440 damage, and then tapped him again for another 440 about 5 seconds later

Worth noting, I think, that it's not just people who converted free XP up off of elited tanks, or those who hoard free XP: the lockboxes in World of Warplanes can drop free XP (which is account-wide); so you can in fact just straight buy it, too.
The TVP was probably not watching QB stream, but his teammate was definitely watching :p
But then again, everytime a 279e is killed i celebrate, so I kinda think that all 279e should be constantly spotted.

I have an idea to rework this tank.
Increase the hull frontally to 350 millimeters but make the sides on the front approximately 330 to 250 millimeters thick, and there is a tiny bar on the bottom above the tracks, which should be like 100 millimeters.
i never tried to get the 279 because i always think that they're going to nerf it next patch...

I feel that ranked battles are bad because, it is what is left if the game from when WG was trying to make WoT a eSports title among the other difficulties QB has mentioned in other videos. Though the main issue I feel is to fix ranked WG would have to invest time and money into it and we all know how much they hate to do that without a direct correlation to profit hitting the bottom line

His opponent was clearly tipped by his platoon mate who was watching it live on stream... it's a no brainer... QB did say his platoon mate asked him to go to that hill specifically...
He rounds did need to be nerfed back in the day. The amount of damage they did vs the amount of skill they took to play was obscene. However, I think we all agree that they took the he nerfs way too far.
when you say "back in the day", how far back do you actually mean?
the KV-2 was...okay (too inaccurate to do anything except brawl, but the armor meant mistakes were easily punished), now it's pitiful. and a lot of the derp guns are in a similar position.
but then... i keep getting full-penned by HESH rounds for obscene amounts of damage even in heavies, i mean the tier 10 TDs with the 183mm guns easily still do over 400 damage frontally with basic HE, and even tanks without HESH like the caliban sometimes do it, and arty still happens to do some insane shit even with stun rounds (a friend of mine took 200-300 damage and had something like 10-15s stun from a shell that hit the ground 5-10m in front of his obj 277). the nerf made grinding through tanks like the ISU-152 (when stock, you only have the derp) painful, and yet some tanks don't seem to suffer at all.
Had the move of this TVP 3times against me..🤫
