I only know this version lol. When I heard the other I was shocked because it didn’t sound familiar at all. This is definitely the original, only version I recall because I had it on CD in 1999.

This original version was perfect for Urban radio & is why WAGW "bubbled under" on Billboards Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs Chart. Unfortunately the remix drowned out the original version soon after its release.
I like that this is the only version where you can really hear each chord being played. Especially all the 7th and diminished chords in the chorus, they sound so good!

First pressings had this version, later pressings replaced it with the MV version

I bought the CD in January 2000 and it had the Music Video version. The lyrics on the booklet did not match at all especially the 2nd verse and bridge. My friend came over and her CD version was completely different and matched the booklet lyrics. Christina Aguilera sold 8 million copies in the US of her first album, I wonder how many of those pressings had this original version.

The label wanted her to re-record it with stronger vocals and a more Rnb sound. It was the first song recorded for the album before they decided which direction they wanted to take her career in.

There are several versions of this CD, they changed the versions of the songs according to the demands. This version for example did not come on Brazilian CDs.
My mother used to have the original version on her old (now broken) computer. Christina should've accept this and put her whistles in this.
I always love this version! I'm upset that we can't stream it and I have no idea what I did with that CD that had this version on it.

This version was released on the original album back in 1999 (because I had it..and the video was the remixed version)..when the album was re-released it only had the remixed version from the video, not this one..I love this version and also the original version for All I Want Is You!!

^^ wikipedia, currently, describes it well - "lossy compression or irreversible compression is the class of data encoding methods that uses inexact approximations and partial data discarding to represent the content" - so, it's not a (data) ZIP file: once compressed, rest of the info is gone and there's no "converting" to higher quality (ever possible), and you'd only be making a fake file quite literally. xF

I feel like I heard this song in a fever dream, such a faint memory but I wish I owed this one! It’s so good! My CD had the updated version, then I was upset the MTV video had a different version!! Then the radio was different again lol. Always a great song, but with every edit it lost a lil something.

Biggest differences are faster beat, different key & both variations of the remix have bridges and the remix's beat seems to be based on ophelie winter's "ce que je suis"

This sounds good, no bad judgement on it But I like the other version better due to the fact that the remixed version was the first version i heard and when there is 2 versions of a song, the first version you hear first is always the one you'll like better.

I used to listen to this version I downloaded years ago, this version and the original version of Come On Over should be on the newer versions of the album as a bonus or "album versions" and the newer as "single versions"
Wow! Love the picture! She should make a movie about Helen of Troy. She was called "The face that launched a thousand ships". Then have the director make at least 200 close-ups of her incredibly beautiful face. I guarantee you it will rake in more than 30 million dollars in ticket sales.

Omg I love this laid back version but I doubt if this version would reach no1 in 2000.. I think it was wise to remake a pop version that's why it gave Christina her second number 1.. That's why she did not become a one hit wonder

I agree, though I LOVE this version. But at the time there were a few pop female artists that she had to "compete " with. If this was a 3rd or 4th single (this version) it may have worked.
This was the version that was on the album I got. When I bought it again years later the radio version replaced it. I always preferred this version.
Her voice used to be soooo beautiful! That part at 2:27-2:41, she couldn't do as sweetly today. Her voice has changed, due more to her vocal choices than age.
