My dad passed on a week and 5 days ago. I remember listening to this song on a blast in the shower while he slept in my bedroom as he was ill and just discharged from the hospital . It brought calmness and joy to me I guess it was preparing me for the day he's gone. Now that he's no more I find so much meaning in this track in remembrance of him. I know that his light is shining upon me. Now instead of crying I smile.

I would like to share something magical that I've experienced with this song last week. Remembering great times of music, the previous week I put this song in a 90s list I have just created in CZcams, but I had unintentionally activated the subtitles. It was a surprise to me , really shocking, that this song talked about someone who has passed away. Inmediately I though of my mum, who sadly passed away 5 years ago. I kept reading the lyrics and found tears in my eyes (I was 12 when this song came out and couldn't understand very much). Well, the thing is that I'm a singer and 2 days after I discovered what were the lyrics about, when I finished my little show in the hotel where I work at, my mate DJ started his. And... Guess what was the first song to play that night... I knew it was my mum speaking to me❤
That's a beautiful story. This song definitely hits you differently when you listen to it after losing a loved one. We used to party and dance to this song when I was 18 with not a care in the world. My dad passed away a few years later and so have other close friends and family over the years. This song makes me think of them and I tear up.
I believe your mom felt your thoughts and sent a message to your DJ friend to play this for you. The vibration of sound through music and electricity is a common language we share with our loved ones in spirit and helps them communicate with us.

Love Miss Janet! This song puts a smile on my face, even when the tears are flowing nonstop. My best friend of 38 years died 5 weeks ago, and I struggle every day. We did everything together, and I'm lost without him. This song not only gives me a little bit of peace, but it reminds me of how lucky I am to have had such a powerful friendship, here and whatever is waiting for me afterward.

I dedicated to my little dog that passed in October 2023. I felt she was my little soulmate, she knew when I was sad, hurting, hungry. I still miss her so much. She passed away in my arms . Now I’m doing things without her. I feel she will always be with me .. ❤

I have been a huge Janet Jackson my whole life long. My life goal more than anything is to meet Janet Jackson. I am so sad I won't be able to make her current "Together Again" tour. I wanted to go, but then I faced an unexpected laid-off for a few months. No worries, I have got hope and strong faith and I am claiming right here and now that I will get that VIP Meet and Greet package and meet her on her next tour. All my fellow Jan fam fans who didn't get the meet and greet on this tour, we will do so on the next tour. I thank the Queen of Pop for changing the world with her God-given artistry of music and having such a kind heart. God bless you Janet!

I lost my sister one year ago this April 8th, and heard it on the radio today; the words mean SO MUCH NOW! I miss her so much as does the rest of the family. At the time I last heard this song I was about 4 years old , and the internet was still in its early stages of development , I never heard it for years and never remembered who it was , but the voice and rhythm has stuck in my head for 22 years and I tried humming it to people but they never could figure out what song it was I wanted .
Only until recently I watched the recent Janet jackson documentary and heard it in the end credits , then I quickly wrote down the lyrics and finally found it 😭😭😭 I can now die in peace 😂
