when spraying clear, it is important to spray it until it is 'wet' looking but not dripping. The example given here will not give gloss.

There’s some really bad tips here tbh. From what he used, the method and even his buffing was TERRIBLE. What he used won’t make it past a year with out fading and doesn’t even look clear. 2k clear would be better, slowing his hand down would’ve made it glossier and maybe not even need to be wet sanded. If you chose to wetsand, do not add wax or fillers for month Is recommend by most body shops

I don't know if you were using a way lower % of alcohol when you wiped it down before hitting it with the 3000 grit sandpaper, but when I tried to sand and re-coat (after letting it dry for 48 hours), it got all sticky as if it wasn't fully dry yet -- using the same type of clear coat as you. When I went to the hardware store to look for different types of clearcoat (like a faster drying one) I explained to one of the workers there what I was doing and he said I shouldn't be using alcohol to remove sanding dust -- I should be using a tack cloth.
Other than that, it seems to be coming along okay.

when you spray move your arm from left to right, not your wrist. Moving your wrist like that will never give you an even finish. 1500 grit is not coarse enough for the clear coat to grip. I would go with something better instead of the Rustoleum can your using.

    • @TKDPandaa
