Amazing work mate.
Thanks
Nice done, as always!
No probs
Great method! However if the chip goes all the way down to the carbon fibers, you must build the chip back up, and flush with the surface using a 2K (2 part) clear coat (or use 5 minute epoxy if you want it to turn yellow and crack!). If the sandpaper and water have black in them, you've hit the fibers, and there's no more clear coat to polish. If too deep, then pick away at the chip to remove all of the cracked clear coat.
Don't spray the clear coat, just dab or wipe small layers into the chip, let it flash, build a layer, flash, until it builds above the surface. THEN progressive sand and polish.
would a spray 2k clear coat work? or does it have to be liquid?
Wow fantastic job
You make this look so easy.
Sorry

Well sorted 👌
Thanks
Hi, I just want to point out that the clear lacquer is there to protect the epoxy in the carbon laminate - it is UV sensitive and will discolour and degrade over time, from exposure to UV light.
Don't disagree Chris
Can keep adding ceramic protection lol
OMG that is just outstanding content what a great vid bro you are just stunning at what you do bro amazing finnish great channel keep up the great content love it
Always love the support matr
Please which paste is used at the end? Thank you.
Awesome
Cheers
Do you need to apply a layer of clear coat since u sand it? Or u can just wax it and done?
Can I do this with carbon textured plastic trim?
I have two big spots peeling on my cf mirror. I'm terrified to attempt this!
How do you prevent moisture ingress now you have sanded off the protective gel coat? CRP will absorb moisture and start to degrade if it is not sealed.
Quick fix this is. Coat with 2k clear or maybe a ceramic
Some boy 👌
Hah ledge
Hi can you help. Do you do many bonnets, mobile out in the weathers. I have been doing a few but thinking of not doing them any more, they are a pain, what with dealing with the weather color matching the side fenders etc....Your thought's please...
I rarely do a bonnet outside mate. It's difficult to not have bits land in/on it. Also drying the panel is difficult
@@cvrpov Thanks for that..i thought so. I now have stopped doing bonnets oiutside. Cheers
how do you know when to switch sanding grits? I don't wanna over sand
Each grit of sanding is to remove the previous grit marks.. so as much as in necessary but without damaging the clearcoat
Hey, if i was to apply clear coat to what you done, would i needa sand the whole mirror or can i just do what you have done and sprayed the clear coat after sanding that section? Thank you!
You may aswell scotch/key up the whole area and spray clear
Is this work to apr wing? Since i have a small spot to i wanna try it
Yes it should
Can it be as easy if it’s on an edge? I have a m4 with a carbon roof but a rock hit the edge so it penetrated the clear coat
Just need to go steady and take ur time
Что за насадка на шуруповерт? Есть ссылка?
This is the way except for adding 2k to seal everything, otherwise it just comes back again. I've done this multiple times to my mirrors but didn't use 2k and it just kept coming back quickly. Do your self a favor and finish it off with 2k to seal the deal. See what I did there...
So no need to respray clear? It seemed as it fully chipped in that spot...
I wouldn't want this repair. He just buffed the carbon fiber and now the clear is even thinner.
U can do if u have the option to
Yes, you do.. this is only half of the fix
for some reason my only driver mirror pealing lol i know the process how to fix it im just dont wanna spend my time on it
