Nikocado lance camera vs. Locus lance would be a match.
Locus looks like if H.R. Geiger (who designed the xenomorph) designed a centaur. I love his bio mechanic, liquid metal look.
He looks like a robot
no all the godhand, especially femto look like h r giger. locus looks like Salvador Dali's art
Locus's Apostle design feels so much like something out of Claymore.
Which is ironic considering Claymore is very much inspired by Berserk.
Miura deserves a Nobel Peace Prize for his art.
What has this got to do with peace bruh
When locus crushes the banister after seeing Griffith get slapped reminded me of the golden age chapter where count Julius slaps Griffith after he caught princess Charlotte then guts got angry at julius
Perhaps that was meant as a sort of character foil for guts? Guys followed Griffith because they respected each other whereas locus is someone who is in complete servitude to Griffith. Sort of what guts would have been if he didn't leave the badn of the hawk
To me at least Locus kinda looks like a beetle in his apostle form, with all the metallic spiky bits representing the chitin shells and horns on insects. His dong protrusion and upper body in particular reminds me of a Hercules beetle, and considering Hercules beetles battle with each other using their horns again I can see something of a connection. You could also argue the name Locus is a corruption of locust, though admittedly apart from them being insects and a biblical plague the connection is tenuous. But def a character I’m interested in seeing more of, along with the rest of the Neo Band of the Hawk.
I thought the same thing, the moment I saw his Apostle form! 💜
He's one of my favorites.
It has to be that. Didn't think much in that direction before your comment, but now when looking at his apostle form again, the resemblance is striking.
I always thought it was obvious it’s a play on locusts
Haven't considered locusts but Japanese like those horned beetles, arrnt them kabuto samurai helmets inspired by them
His human apereance also looks like Hercules
Locus' apostle form gives off claymore vibes
I know this arc isn't complete but I'm loving these Apostles in Griffiths new Band of the Hawk! Each one is unique and with amazing transformations!
as much as I love them, still not my band of the hawk 😭
Original Band of the Hawk: Who are you?
New Band of the Hawk: We are you, but better and much more fabulous.
I am really interested in Locus's fellow lancers, the background ones have really cool designs that sadly get mostly chumped by Ganishka.
Rickert: Slaps Griffith.
Locus: Touch my WAIFU I end your LAIFU.
I wonder how effective silver would be on apostles? They hurt malevolent astral creatures - trolls, Kushan tigers, Sea God, etc. - a lot more than ordinary steel swords do.
The girth joke had me cracking up. Love the combination of humor and information!
thatotherguy 😜
I never expected such a beautiful and noble apostle would appear on Berserk when I was reading the eclipse part. Locus is my favorite character now!
I was definitely struck by his appearance and the finesse in his lance. Impaling like 9 different guys’ heads in 1 blow turning them into a human shishkebab was a very theatrical entrance.
Describe Locus with one word: elegance
Metal
"Stifled."
"Wiseau"
Shampoo
loyal
Under his layer of armor, I think Locus has a fleshy and vulnerable interior. Kinda like how he comes across as stoic but there is a rage/evil inside him.
Odd. His design as "the riding moon lancer" reminds me a lot to a character that went by the same trope in the book Don Quijote, who also answered by the name The Moon Knight.
It's been a while since I last read it, but I remember the character.
“Oh hai Guts!”
Anyway, I reckon Locus could win best in show with a couple coats of wax on him. Get him all shiny.
One of my favorite apostles, he is one of the best representations of a demonic knight.
He's a bit stiff, but that plays into his whole derring-do and chivalry as a Knight. I'm more interested to know why he never took a lord to serve.
Wannes Hoosemans Definitely one of the best designed. A call back to the 60’s-80’s style of alien demons.
He is my favorite apostle too. I love how he keeps his spirit as a knight even after becoming a demon.

His lancer units are my favorite of the apostles. That and the “dog” units. Those are badass looking.
Locus's design reminds me of Elder Toguro from _Yu Yu Hakusho._ It's the straggly hair that does it. If Locus's face were smoother, he might pass for Michael Jackson!
The panel of Locus and all the other Band of the Hawk Lancers transformed into their apostle forms remains one of my favorite panels of any manga ever

I have a theory about the lieutenants of the new band of the Hawk. Given their extremely otherworldly appearances I am of the belief, that they must have been given a second chance at apostlehood(as was the case with the Count) and they accepted it, where the Count denied it. If a single transformation makes them inhuman enough to require Guts, a seasoned fighter with almost superhuman strength and a suitable weapon to barely survive an encounter with them, then a second transformation will certainly top that(and give them enough strength to lord it over other apostles like Zodd,Grunbeld and Locus do and hence their overall ranking in the Band of the Hawk)This second sacrifice may also be a key factor in their general attitude.Completely disconnected with the world(even to the normal apostle vices)and rarely driven by a single emotion they must have showcased extremely strongly prior to apostlehood(Grunbeld being honor,Zodd bloodlust, Locus loyalty and so on and so forth).
It is also noteworthy the fact that none of them took part in the "nocturnal festival", which supports this notion(being disconnected from most desires human or otherwise).
It could also be that Miura conceived them later in the story (20+ years does that) and as a result they missed the chance for the author to include them on those major events.
That's a good theory, but I don't necessarily think that the lieutenants are more detached from their humanity than other apostles. In fact, I think they seem far more human than anyone else. It might be a misconception, but I'm thinking of Irvine caring for Sonia on multiple occasions for example (saving her in battle, offering his jacket as a blanket).
My theory is that there was something intriguing about their personalities and skills that made the Godhand / Evil give them stronger powers. Like, they knew that those four would be useful in later fights, so they made them specifically strong to put them in leadership functions.
@@Chiara_Elena That or apostles with stronger characters and forces of will actually become stronger apostles. Remember apostles form their bodies themselves using their own strength and willpower; while the amount of sacrifices would surely make one stronger their own individual strengths factor in greatly into the reforming process.
"Isn't based on any mythological creature" literally shows an armor clad centaur. The first thing I thought of upon seeing this dude is "oh that's a centaur"
Lol same. And funny enough he mentions centaurs a little later too
I believe Miura was inspired by Fabio when he designed Locus. Just speculating, lol.
Yeah, I can kinda see that...if Locus was a dirty blonde.
The apostle form of Locus is one of the coolest looking form imo...
Locus is very interesting. His Apostle form is fun to look at. I predict he will be far mighty to face in combat for the main heroes and he might get killed in a very brutal manner through the face.
His apostle form reminds me of Virizion, the Pokemon
The most interesting thing about apostles is that they have to sacrifice something important to them. I am curious about what each sacrifice.
I'd really love to know who Irvine and Locus sacrificed to become Apostles!
I liked the joke in the comments that Locus sacrificed his shampoo.
Looking forward to seeing what will happen when/if Guts fights Locus. At first glance it seems as though the dragonslayer would be able to snap Locus' thin body in two, so I'm guessing that the fight would mostly consist of Guts trying to outplay Locus' range to get in close for a final strike. That or Skull Knight lets Guts use his horse and they have a joust-off lol.
The Skull Horse would just *GALLOP UPSIDE-DOWN* in mid-air to kill Locus. The visual alone would be epic!
I imagined serpice gonna be the one that fight locust, both agile and thin and they seems have extream loyalty to each master
niko vananda locust parallels guts loyalty to griffith
I love the fish lancer, the clam lancer and the giant dinosaur skull looking one on the left in the big group shot. I also like a lot of the ones on the right. Far ruight guy who's torso comes out the top of the head is really sick too.
Locus is heavily depicted with moon symbols, moon = luna, lunatic, wich makes ME imediately think about the word "louco" in portuguese that means basically that same as lunatic. The word lunatic was often used to depict someone that strays from the normal society in the history of "madness" and madhouses, the ones who walk the streets at night by the light of the moon. There you go, my take hahahahaa
Locus looks like someone from the Claymore manga, especially when in his apostle form.
As always, good precise video.
Bro, Locus is so cool.
The intro to this was awesome.
I look his design a lot. Good video my friend
It's happening fellow strugglers we're getting a new berserk chapter in june 26th

Finally, we'll see what Skull Cap has to say to Popeye the Swordsman!
I always felt like Locus was Griffiths replacement for Guts. When you see the loyalty that Locus has for Griffith and the skill he has as a warrior he's pretty similar to Golden Age Guts
Zodd took Guts place. Locus is closer to Casca, Grunbeld is Pipin, Irvine Judeau, Corkus being Rhaksis. I know I spelled at least one name wrong
@@H8erfisternator I thought Sonia was the new Casca, a puppy-love fangirl?
@@edwardgaines6561 But Sonia is not a fighter. Locus is more like Casca. Sonia is like a new addition.
I always call the "new" Band of the Hawk, Band of the Falcon. Because of manga translation and the kingdom they are loyal too? Also, something just doesn't sit right with me calling them Hawks? 😔
Love ya content Ryan keep it up
Thank you 👊
I think an apostles form largely has something to do with their personality.
Griffith is very vain and self centered, thus femto is rather sleek and elegant compared to say Ubik, Conrad and Void.
So if we go by that logic it makes sense that this chivalrous demon knight also has a very elegant sleek metallic form, instead of a hulking beast like most apostles.
But that's largely head canon but I think it makes sense.
Locus is the equivalent of casca in the new band of the hawk acording to the flow of causality
Make a video on all the apostles to look out for. Just for us to keep up with the newest apostles in the Berserk manga in summary!
Holy crap. Locus is Virizion!
A locus is often used to me like, a site of power or a key turning point too.
I can see some parallels to the real world, like the siege by Ganishka basiclly being the siege of vienna by the turks, maybe he is the peak of feudalism/honor of the early medieval knights just blindly following his king, with no remorse for people who stand against his lord
Question: If Apostles and humans are more intimately connected via the creation of Falconia and live side by side more readily then can there be cross breeding and would the offspring be half Apostle half human, like demi/half gods or dhampirs/half vampires in other mythologies.
His apostle form reminds me of virizion
so, what you're saying is, he's the male version of Griffith....looks the part as well :P
@Basement Bohab SCISSORS TIME!
I thought locus as in the bug locust and he looks like a mantis. Idk.
Not a cennataur bud - just a centaur. Classic mythological creature, so seems to fit that theme to me :).
locus has gotta be my favorite apostle design!
Heh, interesting Centaur pronunciation there. But yeah, that's what he looks like, and essentially is. I've played a lot of games with robotesque centaurs, particularly Phantasy Star. None quite so sleek, but it's more common than you'd think! Shining Force has some very armored up centaurs, bordering on robotic, particularly the ones with giant laser bazookas.
His apostle form looks like abstract art.
Reminds me a bit of Prince Sigvald the Magneficent. Elegant, lethal, beautifull.
Or as Sigvsld himself always says. Handsome and Lethal.
Yea his appearance and his skills but personality wise Locus is just reserved and humble.
Kinda reminds of the Silver Surfer from Marvel. How Surfer is always with his board pretty much attached to it like Locust is with his horse. And yeah, he’s silver lol.
This man Makes me happy for being a Lance main in Monster Hunter.
Zod, Locus and Irvine are my top apostles.
The MtG card “Lone Rider” changes into “It That Rides as One” where it depicts a humanoid melded to a steed. That’s pretty similar.
Idk why I watch these. I've read the manga and pretty much know all the information given. But I just enjoy the videos none the less. Lol
His apostle form looks like something you would see in a surrealist painting.
His form almost looks angelic
You could probably kill locus with a considerable amount of heat. That armor looks very hot and the fleshy insides would probably cook like an oven, and if its hot enough the metal might even start to melt, which would obviously burn locus's insides and you would be able to cut him. Apostles have already been shown to be able to take damage from fire, and it seems to cause them considerable pain, so maybe a potential weakness ? On the flip side, lots of cold would probably make the metal very brittle and easy to shatter, although it would be much harder to create an extremely cold environment as opposed to a really hot one. Also if its raining hes basically just a walking lightning rod. Hes also probably heavy, so hed probably just fall right through any wooden floor off the ground.
His name may be a reference to something called the Locus of Control? I’m no expert, but it’s related to a person’s belief that they have control over their lives as opposed to external forces.
This Is the comment I was looking for
To thank you I Will ask you a question ... Do we have locus in our lives ?
Locus is legit the coolest centaur I've ever seen
"It doesn't resemble a classic mythological animal or monster" Bro, Locus's apostle form is a centaur.
locus is a very odd apostle often referred to as moonlight knight, same as the moonlight boy that we now know is guts' son. there's gotta be some sort of connection
Such a beautiful cyber centaur boi
I laughed at how pissed he got when he saw his precious master get bitchslapped by Rick.
Locus is a centaur half man half horse that’s mythological
He hesitated when he spoke the forbidden word 😱 "F-fleshie"
Instant like for Knight's Tale :D. He looks absolutly bada$$ in his apostle form
His apostle form is beautiful and fancy
What i want to understand is what's Griffith's big plan or the plan of the idea of evil if it's gonna play a role in the future of berserk? Cause I don't see Griffith doing anything wrong other than protecting the land with his new band of the hawk!
I have subscribed, so when do I get my Chrome makeover!?
4:30 Locus' Apostle form reminds me of the Whip Apostle that killed Judeau in the Eclipse
i think miura chose the name locus because it means abstract, and he chose that because his transformation is really abstract and a little surreal.
His apostle form sorta looks alien-like to me, definitely looks out of placed but hella unique.
One day we can maybe get a souls style game with berserk lore.
I wonder whether in his apostle form is the metal only skin deep or are even his organs made of metal.
He becomes a Centaur with Metal Cloat. Plus isn’t his name a reference to the insect known as a locust?
Grunbeld is an interesting character to dissect.
Could you make an analysis of the brand of sacrifice?
0:06 ah one of movies i watched as a kid
Theres exacly same monster in one of the conan the barbarian books- absolutely the same with metalic cover and blades
Zodd is the most handsome lad in the series how dare you.
His name could also be a reference to the Locusts from the Bible. The religious as well as the superstitious have already shared their version saying these calamities (like the Locust swarm) represent the wrath of God over sins committed by humans over the years. Or I dunno, that’s just what I think.
His Apostle form has always reminded me of the pokemon Virizion, very random I know
5:17 like a Senator ? Yeah I think you mean Centaur. :P
Locus of control
He remind me of mantis in apostle mode
Locust is the love child of Elish Norn from Magic the Gathering and a Cylon from battlestar gallactica .
Locus’ apostle form is very similar to an awakened being from Claymore.
the name is a refference to 4 horsemen
When looking at Locus I can’t help but see Lancelot (and not not just because of the name).
A traveling knight who got into constant duels/joust, never kneeled to any lord until he met a great King destined for greatness.
The only thing is that Locus doesn’t seem to match with Lancelot is his relation with his Queen. Neither seem interested in each other in the slightest sense.
when he is in apostle form, hes face, where the eyes should be he has that light that looks just like the scar in guts abdomen when he uses the berserk armour, kinda curious
