Soap & Clay is a family owned business operating in Washington State, but started out online thanks to Mrs. Soap & Clay's kickass brother and his amazing web design skills. The business was started as a tribute to Mrs. Soap & Clay's grandmother, the OG maker in the family that cultivated everyone's love for the DIY life. The studio/retail shop opened in 2017 on 6th Ave in Tacoma, and immediately began teaching soap, bath bomb, lotion, and scrub classes to the makers and maker enthusiasts of the PNW. In 2019, the pottery studio opened as well, making the soap shop a busy place full of artistic energy every minute of the day.
Mrs. Soap & Clay has been featured on Business Spotlight, New Day Northwest, and was awarded a coveted place on the South Sound's 40 under 40 list in 2019, an award given to the most influential business people under the age of 40 each year. She cried when she walked up to the podium to accept the award. A lot.
Drawing from her chemistry background and her maker spirit, Mrs. Soap & Clay infuses her favorite things into her soapy designs and creates products that are fun to see, use, and learn to make. Stick around for this ride - she'll take you on a great one.

I just found you recently and so impressed you did a video every day for a year and yes the geode soap is gorgeous too
Gorgeous!!!! Its kismet, this is the pour I'm teaching my daughter right now!!!!!! Totally psyched
WOW...so beautiful! I am a new soaper(almost a year) and today is soap day...going to try this one! Thanks again!
Looks very oceanic or coral reefish to me as well! I’m in love with the sea, so I see it everywhere! Lol
Thank you, I have enjoyed the year in soap! Great job ladies!
This was the January challenge and the first one I did and entered. I won the sponsor's choice award for the salt crystal category. Was definitely a fun challenge. :)
That’s so awesome! Big flex!
Totally love the way this soap looks!!!!
Super cute! I haven't tried any salt bars yet
So. Much. Fun!
I know you said Georgia Mae is doing a different technique tomorrow... but can you tell me, is there a technique using loaf molds? I don't have a slab mold (and can't justify one ATM). So wondering if this is a technique I just have to put on a back burner for now...
Edit: fixed an autocorrect issue for there/they're. DX
She’s doing a loaf mold version tomorrow!
@@MrsSoapAndClay Ah. It's my old nemesis: the waiting game. Lol. Good to know! Thank you!
Unrelated but I finally did that bourbon soap this morning. So now I'm waiting for two things. Rofl! Do alcohol soaps accelerate a lot? My first layer set up SUPER fast. I DID blend it to medium trace cause I was doinga scraped design with it but it seemed to go MUCH faster than I anticipated (which worked out really well actually). But I was also using a new recipe. All of my oils, lye, and additives were room temp, recipe was only 35% hard oils (25% babassu and 10% unrefined shea). So I would assume it was the alcohol...
Alcohol does tend to accelerate, no matter what you do to control that!
@@MrsSoapAndClay good to know. I assumed it would but the speed it went at was a shock. Yay learning! And also yay for a simple design that benefited. WOO!
Thank you! I saw all these geode soaps on IG in January and was totally mystified. This is gorgeous, indeed, and looks like a ton of fun. Not as difficult as the mysterious beauty of it implies (praise God for that!).
That is absolutely breathtaking
Thank you!!!
Oh my! Those are absolutely beautiful 😍
They are beautiful!
Stunning
girl OMG i cant... we cant b done lol. i know this has been so much work for u n GM!! u guys have bcome a part of my every day life!!
Wow, thank you for a year of information.
Love this!! And year two... yes!! 🙌🏼
Awesome looking. Did your batch encounter a foul scent from using the salt? I used a number of different essential oils and the chemical reaction with the salt made the soap unappealing in aroma.
I have never experienced that, but I don’t do a ton of soaps that are strictly essential oils.
Love this!! Great job!!
Beautiful bars!
At 13:24 mark can you see a little guy pointing at the reefs or centaurs or whatever it looks like, I have a very good imagination!!! But for real the bottom of the guy is on your left index finger. I swear I'm not weird or under the influence of a substance, LOL! Beautiful soaps! :D
I love soap Rorschach so freaking much!

Happy day of your birth!
Happy birthday 💐
Absolutely love how this soap turned out would you happen to know what the names of the colors of Micas that you use to make it?
The blue is Aphrodite from Mad Micas - the red is Angry Rosé and the gold is whatever gold I picked up from brambleberry. 😂
Stunning!! Did you do a higher super fat to account for reserving some of the oil?
I didn’t on this one - it’s a 5% superfat I believe, which basically meant that the extra oils for the superfat are the ones in the beakers.
@@MrsSoapAndClay Thank you!! I’m trying this tomorrow!
Love them and the colors are awesome
It was so fun!
Never disappointed!! Super cool
Isn’t it just all the things?!?!
Very nice☺ Day 365 you have to do it in you bath room! Just a thought.
An idea! Given the current status of our home addition, that’s not super likely. But the chances of me crying again? 100% 😂😭❤️
Are the oil and mica swirls super fat, or are the oils taken out of your batch oils?
Both! I superfat the majority of my recipes, but I tend to pour off of the main batch for mica mixing most of the time.
@@MrsSoapAndClay thank you. It is a beautiful soap.
Whoa!
Thank you for your lovely videos but how you shower with all that big amount of salt because salt will harm the skin
Hey! Salt does fun things in saponification, and most of the decorative outside bits will wash off immediately. To the salt harming the skin, that depends on skin type! Some people love a salt bar.
@@MrsSoapAndClay thank you Bella
It’s definitely a thing
It’s all a thing! 😂
@@MrsSoapAndClay 👍😁
Absolutely freaking gorgeous
Thanks! One of my faves, for sure.
