Just to let you guys know, and don't quote me, back in the early 60s late 70s ish Honda has sold their patents for the engine cylinder to Toyota. That was after Honda was done only making motorcycles. The engine cylinder that Toyota uses to this day is a Honda cylinder.

Honestly I love the light hearted conversations around F1 you guys have and hence I have tried my hardest not to write this comment, because online comments are tone deaf and can be easily misunderstood. Having said that this is not an angry comment and no I don't hate you guys.
I have been watching F1 since I was 8. The first full season of F1 I watched was 2001. I am Indian and India has just started a motor racing culture a few years ago. So when I watched F1 all those years, I didn't watch because I was supporting my country's team or driver. I got hooked on F1 because of the skill on show.
You seem to believe Yuki is better than Sergio. Let me just tell you guys, at the end of sergio's rookie season, ex drivers and commentators alike talked about Sergio as a potential world champion. In a pretty shitty Sauber he got multiple podiums in his rookie year. He was a member of the Ferrari young driver academy and lets just say having a non European as a Ferrari academy driver was far from the norm...
Being a young Ferrari driver, he was actually sought by McLaren, who had their own drivers but still went for a Ferrari academy driver. I am sure you guys know about the rivalry between Ferrari and McLaren. They didn't ever do something like this.
Sergio has had a rough time being Max's teammate but don't let that fool you for a second, if it was easy for mediocre talent to survive in Formula 1 for 14 years without winning a championship. There would be a whole lot of such drivers, but there aren't.
Sergio is among the best talents, the best RACERS, that the sport has ever seen.
That's why he is going to continue to drive for redbull and hopefully he gets comfortable with his car so even the new fans can see exactly what he is capable of.
In my opinion Michael Schumacher is the greatest driver/racer in F1 of all time and no one can ever even get close. Even if they win 8 world championships because of a crazy fast car. But at times even Schumacher needed his team to protect him from somebody like barrichello, who would be faster than him.
No one can ever really, practically, perfectly conclude who the greatest driver of them all is. It's just people's opinions. This is why I refrain from saying one driver is better than the other, even if I am talking about lance or logan.

The best thing about Carlos going to Red Bull would be that we get a kinde objective measuring stick in the max vs car debate. If Carlos is just as far behind as Checo it would even make Max more special but if Carlos competes for 1st place a lot more respect would go to the car.

For the march madness etc afaik there is no other country in the world where Universities have the same impact on sports as in North America. In Europe while they might have sport teams they mostly are student lead and organized and compete with amateur clubs in their local area. For high schools it's even worse, i know of no high school in my area that has a sports team associated with them.

How can you cheer on all 20 drivers during a race? Are you both super casual fans, or does that weird fake f1 show on netflix turn you into one?
Toyota did have an F1 team from 02-09 and also supplied engines to other teams too but are know as one of the biggest disappointments in recent F1 history because of their large funding and backing that didn’t translate to success. Best constructors finish was 4th and they never won a race. (They deserve a 2nd shot just like Honda. Fernando called them a GP2 engine and now he’ll race with Honda again in 2026 😁)

Toyota had their own works team in formula 1 in the early to mid 2000s and it ended being a billion dollar waste of money. The outfit was terrible. This will be Fernando’s second stint with Honda since 2015 with McLaren. The first time they worked together he call the Honda a gp2 engine! I’m surprised Honda is willing to work with him.

They're back! Again! 👩🦰👩🏻 Toyota were in F1 for almost a decade from 2002 - during that time they spent over 2 billion dollars (yes, TWO BILLION) and didn't have a single race win to show for it. 😭

@@fanbehaviorf1pod I agree! The upcoming engine regulations in 2026 are the best time in a while for new manufacturers to come in, or for old ones to return. I'm surprised the likes of BMW haven't expressed more interest.
