So nice to see someone who knows to size up the pex in the system. The moment I heard that, your review became the top of the pile. 3/4 supply lines to 1/2 outlet lines with pex just doesn't flow enough to not see a relatively severe pressure drop. I had 3/4 and 1/2 installed in the primary bath in my house and wound up having to go back and swap it out with 1" in to the 3/4 supply and to 3/4 to the 1/2 outlet like you did. Even with the shower rough in being 1/2 outlets it flowed better gpms with less pressure drop.

Thanks for your video, I have almost the same system, if you have some small amount of water dripping from the steam head, what could cause this leak? It started doing it a few days ago after I use the steamer and I am not sure why this is.

I have a bath tub with a towel bar. It fills with water the temperature I like on my hand. It was easy to install and I have never had a failure of any kind.
so maybe a dumb question but what is the best "rain head" you have come across i'm looking to upgrade mine?

Did you remove the water restricter from the Kohler overhead shower? It made a huge difference.

We're looking into installing this system in a new project we're working on. There are so many parts you need to make this DTV+ system work. I appreciate your video because its helped me figure it out. There's really not that much out there. My final question is, is there a specific collection of shower heads or any Kohler shower heads you can use with this?

Mikey pipes, how are you making hot water at your house? I'm assuming you have an 80 or 100 gallon indirect with all that GPM you need.

We're going to be installing the DTV in our new house. 4 body sprays, 1 handheld, 1 shower head, 1 rainfall head, and a steam shower. My question is, how do you keep the water hot. My plumber told me we'll burn through our water heater in 10 minutes. I talked about doing a couple of tankless heaters. How did you keep up with the demand of the system? We're in Wisconsin, so the water temp rise is my concern.

I have a newly installed dtv shower system and there is sth wrong with it. I used the save as function in the interface to update the preset as to activate the body spray1. However, body spray2 functioned instead of bodyspray1.

Hey @pipedoctor. Great video. I'm currently living in Puerto Rico and undergoing a complete master bedroom bath rehab. I have almost the exact same system setup that you installed. DTV 6 port Thermo valve, 13kw Steam Gen, 4 Body Strays, 2 angled body sprays, 4 speakers, Hand Held, but no overhead rain shower. We just demolished the the entire bedroom. Would love to hire you as a consultant if possible to help with the planning of the install of all these units. I have been through all the manuals and have a pretty comprehensive understanding and preliminary plan of action already. If this would be something you have a little spare time for, i'd be more then willing to compensate you for your time. If there is one thing i hate doing, its anything twice. As you can imagine there are not any plumbers in puerto rico that have ever seen this system. LOL. I'm a GC stateside and have plenty of knowledge to get this done myself. A little guidance by you and I could knock this out the park. Thanks
One question. I love the idea of pushing a button for the shower and it setting to water temp without having to worry about checking and re-checking before I get into it. My question, can you also do a one button set temp and fill for a tub? I like showers, my wife always takes a bath. It would be nice to have the shower feature for her tub? If you could tell me if it exists and if it does, explain how you do it. Thanks for your time, love your channel!

Great video my friend. Question, on the 3M filter into the steam generator, why did you choose not to have the cold water 3/4 inlet run through it first and then the DTV and Steam Generator next? I'm in the process of implementing the same with Kohler's new Anthem controller and a Thermasol Steam unit. Definitely interested in your thoughts. Looking to use the same 3M Brand but the 15GPM version. Thanks in advance for your time.

I was curious if your shower system was loud. Our Kohler DTV sounds like a boat is trying to start the entire time you're showering - which kind of takes away the relaxing aspect of the whole thing. Thanks!
Hi I just moved in my home 3 months ago. And this system is installed, I love it!! However one day the display stop giving me shower options. When I choose shower the home icon comes back up. I’m not sure what the problem is. Does the system require a battery somewhere 😩 I can no longer use the shower
@@PipeDoctor They are behind a panel I have never opened. Do you think I should access back there? It also worked for 3 months without me connecting it to the new Wi-Fi network. Is it possible to work without internet connection
I like the video, good thing your a plumber so you can fix all that stuff when it breaks, which it will. I think you will find as you get older it was probably a waste of money unless you just did it for resale value. Good work though, very professional.

How much did this set u back? Dyi and paying the plumber? And did u add radiant heat in the floor and bench? Looking to do basically same 5x10 shower, no windows tho(do u rly need them?) And idk if i was going to do active looping thro my bench seat/floor or radiant closed loop. Its just a perfect shower, and thanks for heads up on that rain head, ill be getting a diff model for sure, not worth the money, so many better cheaper options.
Mikey, thanks for an awesome video. I am struggling with the DTV controller, the steam shower icon keeps disappearing off the display and now it is not starting as per our pre-set user settings. Would you be willing to do a video consult for a fee so I can fix this stupid DTV controller? Thank you, BTW I live in Boston.

Lotta work there it looks great nice job. Couldn't you change the real rain shower head to a different head for more flow or is that one set to the system.
Add a pump booster to your water system that works when the shower/ rain heads come on. Not that hard for a fix.

Curious why you would plumb in pex? Those fittings are terrible and the algae that grows in them is nasty.. plus all those fittings create so much head pressure limiting flow. Don't you think it's better to bend copper for maximum flow and copper in general to control growth in pipes. A lot of money for this system and nice cast iron but then the pex I can never understand why people choose it, especially nowadays with copper crimp fittings. Curious your thoughts

The one thing I find funny about devices like that the biggest thing is is we all know water and electricity do not mix regardless if it's low voltage or high voltage they still don't mix some things that come up with I just don't know LOL :-) :-)
Always have a way to bypass pass the electrical controls . And make it work. I hope Mike put some bypass valves somewhere.

Steve is a good guy, helps lots of people. The guy's I've learned from were older than him and were pricks to work for on long island then one guy Frannie Davis showed me everything he knew. That was 30 plus years ago. When he retired i would help him with his side jobs and Reillo burners and all the new stuff. He Died last week. He was my friend and mentor.
