    This video would be great to show to people that say layouts don't matter.

      Layouts matter more for some people than others, just depends on style. I am more speed dominant with less revs so surface comes into play quite a bit.

      @@CKBowling1 Oh I totally agree that surface is more important than layouts, but there are some people out there that think layouts do almost nothing and that no one should care about them.

      @@andrewweltlich9065 gotcha. Ya I have seen that layouts do matter recently with a few balls.

      It would be nice to know a round about common number that doesn’t drill into one of those arms making the differential less or the mass bias less.. great video though

    Either this or the Katana Strike will end up in my bag as my first ball from Radical.

    Hi Bryan, Happy New Year! These videos are filled with so much information, thank you. I have a ZigZag coming in this week. I am a slow speed Senior (12.5-13mph at the pins). I want to keep the int diff as close or under the .015 as much as possible. Bigger int diffs stand up too early for my slow speed. I also have a lot of tilt. My pap is 3 13/16 over and 3/8 up. For my pap a 60 degree drill angle will put the mass bias in the thumb. Being that Radical uses 5” as their avg pap and you said that a 20 degree drill angle would miss the arms, would that equate to a 10 degree drill angle for me? If so, I’m thinking of using a 10 x 5 x 40. Before moment arms with “normal” mass bias cores, I would never use a 10 degree drill angle but on this it seems to be what I want 🤔 I want continuation, not flip. Thanks!

    So if I choose to drill it with the thumb in middle leaving me around 18 for a tweener when would be the best time to roll this on the lane. Heavy oil , transition, med oil , etc?

    For the algorithm

    I developed a proprietary layout and PAP coordinate system for my proshop, specifically in response to balls with "noses to punch", like the Bigfoot and now the Zig Zag.

      I would be interested in seeing that. Always looking to learn new stuff

    • @BowlingBuckosh

      as long as this system still includes the pin-PAP distance for every bowler, that's ok. we find just tweaking the drilling angles to put the thumb in line with the mass bias in dual angles works just fine.

    • @byronfranek2706
      @byronfranek2706 Před 7 měsíci

      @@BowlingBuckosh The system uses the center of the thumbhole as the origin for both the PAP coordinates and layout. It is akin to the vector and 2LS systems, except that it can be used for both traditional and two-handed layouts without the need for an external chart, and requires fewer steps.
      The layout for max skid-flip on the zing (that punches the center of the nose for any traditional bowler, regardless of PAP or span) would be 0 x 6.75" x 3.5" BLS

    Where would 70 5 70 do for the intermediate diff

    • @BowlingBuckosh
      @BowlingBuckosh Před 7 měsíci +1

      this depends heavily on the bowler's PAP, but in general that's a pin-down layout with a long transition. for int diff, it will be higher than the "smooth drilling" with the MB kicked out, but not as high as a pin up layout with a long drilling angle.
