    Reid didn't have the best record with Yawgmoth at the Modern Pro Tour, but he's ready for its redemption arc on Magic Online!

    In my current Yawgmoth list, I'm looking to splash White (1 Temple Garden in the mana base with Gilded Goose as a secondary White source). In the main deck, it's meant as a way to run Cruel Celebrant over Zulaport (As it outlives Bowmaster and you are mainly Chording for it anyways). As for the side, it's packing a Gaddock Teeg (For Tron, Creativity and Leyline Binding/pEnding decks) as well as Boromir (In cascade match-ups, control and Fury) since they can also be cast off of Delighted Halfling as well. It's definitely greedy, but I'm pretty interested to see how well Boromir will preform (Even just for it's Selfless Spirit ability).
    I've also been looking into putting Collector Ouphe back in the side as a way to hedge against Ring decks (As well as be a massive bullet against Tron).

    "This really deck rewards the skill of its pilot." That explains my lack of rewards with this deck.

    Whats your thought on the varients playing vial in place of the extra dorks? It seems strong rn with subtley being popular rn but feels bad the later you see it

    Game 2 of match 1, weren't you able to chord for 2 by evoking Endurance? Pitch Cutthroat to hand size, evoke endurace, shuffle gy before sac, then you have 5 creatures to tap

    Round 2 game 2 you had the win by playing Orc pinging opponent, play Yawg and sac geist/wall targeting the orc then saccing whatever you're left with between geist or wall. -5 Grist and deal 9 to the opponent while you're left at 1 life

    End of match 2 your opponent scooped but you had activated the Grist already that turn. I think you were still heavily favored to win, but was not a win that turn.

    It's frankly embarrassing that WotC still haven't fixed the Wall of Roots/Chord of Calling bug. I mean, how many years has it been now? It's not as if Wall and Chord don't see any play....

      I’ve been playing Yawgmoth for years and have never consistently run Hapatra. It’s a win more card that isn’t always relevant, especially if you’re already low on life. Mainboard Sheoldred steals game much more effectively.

    • @iankane3732
      @iankane3732 Před 11 měsíci

      @@emperornapoleon6204 it's effectively an undying creature when it comes to combo there's virtually no opportunity cost to running one. It can recover near unwinnable board states by itself. I've also played a lot of yawg and that card is a house.

    • @iankane3732
      @iankane3732 Před 11 měsíci

      @@emperornapoleon6204 like you could keep sheo and just drop the 1 of Geist for it, you are already pretty much cutting out that card at this point.

    • @emperornapoleon6204
      @emperornapoleon6204 Před 11 měsíci

      @@iankane3732 I haven’t added bowmasters yet, so I still have all my geists, and I play a Messenger over Hapatra. I know it can be good, sometimes, but all of those times require Yawgmoth to be in play. Once Yawgmoth comes down, your chances of winning are greatly improved as it is, but some games Yawgmoth can’t stick. In those cases, I like to have creatures that can win a ground war by themselves or with minimal support. Geist and Messenger are excellent at that. Bowmasters is intriguing, for sure, I just don’t have any yet, and the card isn’t exceptional at hosing the mirror.

    • @emperornapoleon6204
      @emperornapoleon6204 Před 11 měsíci

      Sheoldred doesn’t remove the opponent’s board state, but it does make it irrelevant by giving you functionally infinite life and cards when in play with Yawgmoth. By itself it can just roll an opponent.
