Looks like a pretty good upgrade for me from the Pixel 4A. Google is also running a preorder deal right now where I can trade in my 4A for $300 and get Pixel Buds A series for free. The 6a with the Pixel Bud A series comes out to $182 with tax after the $300 trade in credit. This phone is definitely worth $182, particularly with my 4A battery life and performance starting to get worse.

Same here. I love my Pixel 4a but couldn't resist this offer.
Only thing I'll miss is the 3.5 mm jack, but that's rectified by a cheap USB-C to aux cable.
I just hope it doesn't have any of the problems that I've read are still plaguing some pixel 6 and pixel 6 pro users.
I really don't want to go down a step here. The Tensor Chip is first gen and I'm always wary of new tech.
I found it funny (and somewhat reassuring) that this CNet review found the Samsung to be the laggier of the two because some other reviewers are saying the opposite.
I think only time will tell.
Already ordered and Google says it will be at my house next week at the latest.
I hope they did a good job for everyone's sake 🙂

Because big companies got us used to paying 1500 bucks (and more) for flagships - everything about 500 is "budget". Taking away things (headphone jack, charger, sd card slot) and with even higher prices - I don't think they are going to sell a lot of flagships in future. Phones have peaked and there's nothing much to do, especially when it comes to hardware.

      @MineDraped Před rokem

@@deagle7602 Honestly I have to say I'm disappointed. The slightly larger screen is nice, but I preferred the way the rounded edges of the 4a fit in my hand.
Battery life is abysmal. I've gotten into the habit of having battery saver on all the time or else ~4 hours of screen time takes me from 80% to 20%.
I'm not a gamer or anything either. I use my phone for surfing the web and streaming music mostly. I've lost 2% battery life just typing this reply (with battery saver on).
I lose up to 12% battery overnight rather than the 2 to 3 percent my 4a would drain.
I don't know what's going on, but I'm guessing that it has to do with the tensor chip being overpowered for a mid-range battery.
Other than that, it's a nice phone. But it's also essentially the same phone as my 4A was underneath.
I like Google phones, so it's my hope that in a couple years they'll give me a similar option to upgrade to the 8a.
The included Pixel A Buds are pretty nice and fantastic for conversations. They're not the greatest for music, so I wish Google had given us the option to pay the difference for the Pro Buds.
I'm still glad I did this trade in, but mainly because it's a new phone and therefore should last longer than my 4A would have given that it was two years old.
Overall though, I wouldn't recommend it. The 4A was an incredible deal at $350. I'd be devastated if I'd paid $450 for this one.

Not sure why this phone exists. The Pixel 6a seems to be missing quite a few features of phones in the similar price bracket. Only 60Hz display (No 120Hz), old 12MP camera system (from the Pixel 2??), No wireless charging, only 18w charging capacity. Have to ask yourself though, if this phone is for the more budget conscious, how long will it actually have the legs to last, this seems behind already and is likely to get more and more swamped.

I’d rather have a 60 hertz display with a flagship chip than a 120 hertz display with the a53 that has a garbage processor that isn’t equipped to handle it. I swear people obsess over all the wrong things like high refresh rate, 4k video and a glass back. None of that matters if the battery is trash, calls suck or it lags so much it’s practically unusable. I also found on the 6a, I get 6 hours or so of screen on time. I’m guessing the a53 would be lucky to get 4-5 hours of screen on time. When you are comparing the 6a to the a53 it isn’t a competition, the 6a blows the a53 out of the water.

I take some photos, i dont record videos. i dont use many apps. i dont need alot of storage. looks to be a good size, not too big like the 6 pro. I'm interested in the 7, but i need a new phone NOW

I think it's important to note that those "alleged bugs" that a handful of the original Pixel 6 devices were experiencing have been eliminated for months now thanks to recent software updates - and those bugs can be attributed to Android 12 more than the actual devices! I purchased my standard Pixel 6 when it was launched and have never experienced ANY issues whatsoever! Even the fingerprint sensor has worked well........maybe a little laggy over the first few months but even that has improved immensely with the recent updates! Not only is the Pixel 6 a tremendous phone at $599.99 but it's a tremendous phone PERIOD!

    *Guest what??*
I received my Pixel 6a yesterday, and I just learned the 6a is *NOT SUPPORTED* by Cricket Wireless (an AT&T company), and the 6a is *NOT SUPPORTED* by Mint Mobile!!
I moved my Cricket Wireless SIM chip from a Pixel 4a to the new Pixel 6a, and the 6a BRICKED the SIM instantly, and the chip had to be replaced. The 6a SIM changeover also caused my Cricket account to be suspended for several hours.
Google Store is 100% aware of this issue and does not care. Google tried to get me to switch from Cricket to a much higher-priced Google Fi to solve the problem.
Google emailed an RMA, and my new 6a is going back tomorrow.
    *A BIG disappointment.*
