    amazinggggggggggggggg i can't believe u said that that much explicitly . that's impeccable and very comprehensible tnx for all u do . wish u 10k subscribers.. i would appreciate it if u answer my 2 questions 1- when we say ( my book) here my is det or pro ? while drawing the tree which one must be written as the node? 2- will u elaborate more on this syntactical case? like dependent clauses and passive forms or x theory binding theory and these stuff?

    Can someone help me out: Single words can be phrases too. How do I differentiate between a word and a phrase made up of a single word?
    3:45 Why isn't "story" an NP already?

    • @heySam514
      @heySam514 Před 7 měsíci

      Hi. What do you mean by it’s “not an NP already?”
      It is. It’s an NP that includes a Determiner and a noun.
      The reason that the NP is under the VP is because the verb “tell” is a ditransitive verb and requires two arguments - here, they are “her” and “story”. Hence, the latter is a part of the verb phrase itself and doesn’t exist out of it.
