Just got back from New York, U.S.A., today. Being my 1st time to the United States was an incredibly overwhelming experience. Love the filming photography. Awesome.
The fact that I live in New York and see these things everyday. Why am I watching this? Great video btw.

Thank you so much for sharing this. I'm from NYC but haven't been back since 1981. I lived on the lower east side during the gritty 1980s in Hell's Kitchen. A time when it really was like living in Hell and Times Square was nothing like it is today. I even wrote my memoirs, Wallace Park: A memoir, (amazon) about how I grew up in the projects and my mother's dream for us to have a better life. This was really great to see. I wish there was more though. I'm hoping to go back this year.

This was a wonderful video; well filmed and very inclusive. Going to NYC soon and I feel as if you have provided a great sneak peek of what I will and won't want to see. Great Job! One of the best I've seen on CZcams. Looks as if you had a wonderful trip. You did a lot in a short time, you really got around. Assume you used mostly subway travel, that in itself must have been an experience. Thank you for your thoughtful video!

Hey, I've got some questions. I'll be going to New York this year in October for the first time. Did you have to pay something for visiting the memorial 9/11? How much did you pay for bus/train tickets? How much is a boat ride and entrance for the statue of liberty? Would be great you'd answer my questions. Anne
It's too late for you, but maybe others are interested in these answers too. The combined ticket to Liberty Island and Ellis Island with the immigration museum is 18 dollars inclusive audio tour (headphones in your language) Climbing the Statue is NOT included in this ticket and the two ferries run about every 15 minutes or so and you can use ANY of them (just once). 9/11 memorial place with the fountains is free, but the museum, which is underground, is 24 dollars.
(Admission is free for all visitors on Tuesday evenings from 5 p.m. to close, with the last admission two hours prior to closing. Tickets are not available in advance and are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis at the Museum starting at 4 p.m.)

I used a JVC GZ-GX1 camcorder.
No automatic settings used, except the auto focus.
I am from the UK and visited New York on my first ever trip to the USA and on all the tours here on youtube no one shows or talks about the USS Intrepid ?, it's an awsom tourist attraction not just for us adults but for the young ones as well.
New York definitely is an awesome place.

ga elk jaar naar new york 10 dgn maar nooit meer naar times square is ongeveer hetzelfde als amsterdam en damrak/kalverstraat er zijn zoveel mooiere plekken waar je naar toe kunt en waar je bijna geen tourist tegenkomt soho/chelsea/west village east village binnen no time ben je overal waar je naar toe wilt. brooklyn ook goed te doen en zeker geen hotel veel te duur voor wat je krijgt gewoon een appartement huren wat ik al jaren doe via airbnb ze houden het geld vast tot dat je er bent dus geen "het appartement bestaat niet"in 6 jaar heb ik een keer mee gemaakt dat het 2 maanden ervoor gecancelled werd en ik op zoek moest naar een ander appartement maar ik kreeg wel 20 % korting op het volgende appartement wat ik uitzocht. Wel leuk gedaan de video !

Native here, you're better off booking a room in a hotel in Brooklyn and just taking the subway over. Cheaper and the trains take you anywhere and everywhere, basically.

I remember being there back in 1998 for a school field trip and the buildings where so tall it scared me I just imagined being at the very top of one and just falling. It was one of my greatest memories of being on top of the empire state building and the world trade center, it sucks that I stepped foot on something that doesn't exist anymore now.

do all the train and subways in NY have access for wheelchair ? do the tour bus hop off hv access for wheelchair too ? i want to go there.
kristanti gustiani pualamzah Not all subway stations have wheelchair access, but a good amount of the stations do. For the stations that do, there should be a wheelchair icon near the entrance that indicate that there is an elevator nearby for wheelchairs.
I am from the state of Indiana, about 12 hour drive west, and I feel so proud when I see NY and other great American cities.....especially when a video like this is done in great quality! I hope some of the European stereotypes have been changed for you, that is, if you believed most of them anyway? I know we are smart, well traveled, a little loud and not TOO fat! LOL! What did you think of the services at restaurants and hotels? We are proud of good service, although sometimes there is a rude person, but that is rare.

It's about 60 dollars incl tips from Manhattan to JFK airport...

Supatchara Ponsiri yes, it's expensive. We took the JFK AirTrain (5 dollars) to the subway (Jamaica Station) and then already used the 7-days Metro Card (30 dollars), which you can also use with the other public transport in New York, to Manhattan. A single subway ticket is 2,75 dollars. There were no problems with all our baggage on the subway (We were three people with 6 suitcases and managed it :-) ) The faster way is the Long Island Railroad (4 dollars) which takes you from Central Manhattan (Penn Station) to Jamaica Station or back. JFK Air Train runs to Jamaica Station and back to the airport.

Hardstikke bedankt! Gunst, het is zo lang geleden dat ik NY heb gewoond, de 60's. Er is heel wat veranderd maar toch herken ik vele gedeelten, en de atmosfeer is heel goed opgenomen, mijn volle komplimenten. Alles bij elkaar brengt het vele herinneringen terug.
