Im using since over 4 years the Mobius Actioncam v3 as Dashcam and its working very well, now i switched to Maxi 4k, video quality is a lot better and everything else, Im really happy with that.
Just got mine love it mount it on my cap when I go fishing . Just used a camera tripod fitting and made hole in cap and fitted really well . Well made nice bit of kit
Wao for 100 bucks! You can't ask for more man.. Ty man
With the colours of the lead pairs (red/black and yellow/black) in that unknown cable, I'm going to guess red/black is power in so you can keep it going while you fly (as you say, internal battery is not swappable) and yellow/black is video out for an FPV transmitter.
You're true, it like that on every mobius cam since the first on in 2013
Now I’m curious to pop one open and see if it’s just a split cam inside 😂
this is great to know! I'm not sure why that isn't included in the manual at all lol. I'm going to give it a whirl on one of my analog quads at some point 🤙
Thanks!
The yellow and black wires could also be to start/stop recording with an aux switch, but don't quote me on that.
The cable you did not know about is for radio control model use. The USB goes into back of cam and the other connections go into the receiver of the rc model for power and setting changes linked to the transmitter ok
Buy a camera COOAU SPC02 (new model) for same price with 4k/60fps, electronic stabilization, display, external microphone, waterproof case, two removable batteries and some other parts. This model can even be commanded and set via Wi-Fi.
I will look into this, thanks!
Thank you so much for sharing! Great informative video! Congratulations! Have a nice day!
👍🍀🇭🇺🌞☝️
Very good review. Is this simple to smoothen in gyroflow?
I have the previous version of the Mobius..Still going strong 4 years later..
At first I was confused, I chose a tiny camera for my cinelog 25, the choice was runcam 2 4k, apparently after watching this video review, I decided to buy it now, I can't wait anymore, hopefully I can test it quickly
Thanks Mister 😁👍
It seems very good but I would like it to have water resistance and maybe some way to control it remotely
The colored cable are 4 fpv .
This is Asom and verry good 😎👍
I love Mobius Cam 💞😉
I love these cameras simple and fairly simple to use. I've had every single version literally , since they first came out. The best one I thought was the 808#16 120 degree FOV lens. I've Bben looking at the Caddx Peanut, but that camera seems to have a bit too much AI for my taste so I did a search Mobius an here I am.
What is the max resolution for 60 fps webcam mode? What is the bitrate in 60 fps webcam mode?
The unknown cable I guess is to use this as a camera to DIY drones
Very good to know! Thanks!
Ray at Mobius is a great guy, wished they had done a hypersmooth with the Mobius, guess not, thanks for an awesome review
yea it would be awesome if it had some sort of built in stabilization. otherwise pretty solid camera for the price!
Thanks for watching 🤙
@@TRONCATFPV They are busy with supporting gyroflow csv output files :)
This thing stopped going into wifi app pair mode for some reason
I am just wondering, if it is possible to attach a tine lcd display to it, to show the camera modes!
i'm not sure but that would be nice to have that option
That cable looks like a Quadcopter cable!
Seems like an okay camera.
As far as fpv in concerned. How does it stack up against something like the runcam 5 orange? The price I believe is around the same. I think the runcam comes in around 50 something grams. It's has 4k 30. But it also has an image stabilization feature. I mean. It's not hypersmooth. But it still something.
This one seems like a decent camera, but I don't think the manufacturers were aiming at an fpv market when making the little guy.
I’ve noticed that also the runcam seems like it would be a better option for fpv especially because it’s smaller and has more options
Yea I don't think it's really geared towards FPV at all. It will definitely make a good dashcam though lol.
I've never tried out the runcam 5 orange but the form factor alone looks way more suitable for FPV.
The thing with Mobius cameras has been that the settings are highly customizable and the firmware is being actively improved... Personally I still carry the original Mobius 1 in my pocket everywhere I go! It's a handy little device for any kinds of unexpected or expected uses, not necessarily anything questionable in nature. ;) You can use it quite descreetly compared to, say, a phone camera! I also use it as a "dashcam" on my bicycle! GoPro style formfactor would be too bulky for these kinds of uses...
We all used Mobius cameras when FPV started back in 2013. It has the same form factor as the earlier Runcams. Most people switched to the Gopro Session, which are really expensive to buy now, and then cube form factors became popular. We mounted them on quads by either 3D printed mounts or by carving out a piece of styrofoam.
Was that footage just the onboard image stabilisation? Pretty smooth for 100 bucks!
nope! this camera doesn't have any in-camera stabilization. That's just some smooth drone operating 😉
@@TRONCATFPV from the manual pdf i can read : Video EIS (Image Stabilizer)
To turn on / off video Image Stabilizer
Note: EIS is only supported for 4K 30fps, 2.7K 30fps, 1440p 30fps, 1080p 30fps and 1080p 60fps.
The camera is not functional as a Dash cam. When the car is is ON the car power port is ON, when you start the car, it shuts the power OFF during cranking and then turns the power port back ON after the car is started. If you turn the car ON too fast, the power port will go from ON to OFF to ON again and the camera will lock up and need to be reset. If you let the car sit in ON for a few seconds then start the car. The camera will turn ON then as the power port turns OFF during start of the car the camera will turn OFF and not come back again. I tried this in all my cars and the power port works the same way in every car. If the car is cranking to start the power port turns OFF. The Mobius Maxi 4K can not handle the rapid ON - OFF - ON of the normal starting sequence of the cars. My old Original Mobius has never had an issue with this and has been in the car from 2015 and or before that time.
