Good job keeping the paint that clean. My 91 definitely needs a fresh coat.
Since stealing my dad's & my friend launching from ditch and into the air then cutting a tree in half in the air, I've loved this car. A very unique car with a hell of a lot of potential. Got a 91 sitting in the garage halfway disassembled. Not sure how good the LSD is but also got a 94 transmission, will just need the 94 inner axle stubs. On the same path you took & have a long way to go, but I still like refurbishing everything I have. The EMS is a hand-made unit but can't think of the name of the guy that makes them. Another big 2 fan, he has some good products that are all MR2 related and for making more power. Looking to hit around the same mark as you power-wise, nothing crazy just a really damn fun vehicle. Nice review & great looking MR2.

Holy crap. You're the owner of this car. I remember coming across pictures of your car and was amazed by how clean it was. I'd always return to the pictures as I looked at my RX-7 throwing a tantrum demanding more money. That car is gone and I'm back in an MR2 18 years after my first one. Your car looks fantastic.

My second 91 Mr2 turbo was white.
Both are sold. Both are sorely missed.

Very nice built. Wish I could keep a car for 10 years BUT I always seem to get bored after a couple years and start to chase something new haha. Well just picked up a JDM RHD gen2 so we’ll see how long I hang on to her 😁

We share the almost exact same MR2! mine is a 1998 Hardtop in Red. Like you I’ll never sell it. Just one thing you need to adjust your hand brake it should have 3-5 clicks.

Thanks man! To answer your earlier question, I chose the TD06 because it was a popular setup for 350-400whp at the time. This was back when GT3076 kits were just starting to hit the market, and long, long before anyone was using Precision turbos. If I were to go back in time, I probably would have waited a little longer and went with a Garrett turbo. The TD06 still does the job though, plus it's period-correct and adds to the character of the car.

Love the look of this car! I just bought a 91 turbo and I'm going to do a front lip, side skirts, and rear bumper garnish, so it really helps to know what size rims you have on it. The look is perfect! What size BF Goodrich tires are those? Cheers on such a great build!

mr2’s come with twin entry turbos stock, and my 2 gets full boost of 16 psi at 3k rpm. If you want to get rid of that boost lag and have more mid range power i suggest go with the gen 3 3sgte’s turbo, the ct20b. Absolutely love your car man keep it up!
Mine was very responsive when I had the stock turbo too. Can't make this kind of power on a ct20b though. A somewhat laggy setup with decent peak hp is actually a lot of fun to drive. Not the best for a canyon carver but lots of fun for a street car. Thanks for watching
how much power do you make at the wheels with 16 psi and how much do you think you could see with 22psi?

Canadian Gearhead yeah, my MR2 used to also be Red, same GReady side skits too. It's currently in primer paint. I can email a current picture, but unfortunately fortunately I don't have pictures when it used to have the SF Challenge wheels.
Was your MR2 on a stock suspension?
@@mohammadwali7036 my MR2 was, and is, on Tien HA coilovers. That suspension feels great. I strongly recommend them!

How reliable has the build been? I have a 1991 I plan on building up to 400-ish HP and want it to be reliable but also not take out a second mortgage on my house to finance the cost of the car.

I might be able to get the driver's side one in with the extinguisher. The subwoofer side is a no go. I just stash them in the trunk but to be honest I never really take them out.
Where did you get your lip kit?
It was one of the last to come directly from Aeroware before they shut down

@@CanadianGearhead Thats good you can achieve similar or better level with a toyota CT26 hybrid turbo which is very good, do you have forged pistons and conrods to deal with that much boost and how much of a hp increase was becuase of the intercooler? Also what camshaft are you using? Very nice car good work.
