    From 1:50 to 1:56 I'm reminded a lot of Thomas Bergersen's "Love Suite". Very nice!

    Hi Tobias, Congrats on your channel!
    Would you please consider creating videos on how you work with EW Symphonic orchestra, and tips & tricks ?
    Symphonic template, keyswitches vs no keyswitches, velocity + CC11 vs CC1 + CC11 + DXF, scripts, "advanced articulations" such as Grace notes, rips, glissando, ...

      Cédric Mialaret thank you! :)
      But unfortunately I dont think I will find the time for such projects...
      Also there really are no „Tricks“ that have not allready been introduced by other users! :)

      Hey! Its me :) I just rediscovered your post and shed a tear :') It really means a lot to me! I am obviously not composing for money or anything but for the community! And you stuck around for all those years and ... I really have to say, this makes me proud! We all grew together, got older but we still enjoy the music! And comments like yours, in difficult times, keep me going! Pls, stay tuned, I really appreciate your comments.

      Hey, man!
      I'm glad to see you been grateful. But I mean it (I first gave an ear on you around 2015 and been subscribed since 2017), I think you got a great mixture between skills, good taste and perseverence that has brought you to a great level of musicianship.
      I assume that you are not making a living from this only because is a tough occupation or it's hard to get it started but, I'm sure, you got nothing to envy to many folks earning the bread by putting a note behind the other.
      Seems unlikely to happen for the time being but if I would needed someone to make a soundtrack for anything, you'd be the first person I'd think of.

    Tobias, hello!
    Im glad i found your channel, it has some extraordinary exanples of east west orchestra library usage.
    I though want to ask you one question having been listening to your composition s and hearing them sound almost flawless.
    Since im considering on buying east west hollywood orchestra, hearing this from the first hand almost has it sold for me. But im still wondering what are your thonest houghts of it? Any particular thing worth mentioning thats on the tricky side of it...? Are the raw sounds modern or bit old or is it just a matter of midi and automation skill (to make ot modern?)
    Does the more mic picks in the platinuđ and diamond makes that big of the difference to the instruments.
    Would love to hear from you. 🙂

    • @TobiWobi7
      @TobiWobi7  Před 4 lety +1

      Milan Bajcetic First of all thank you for the Kind words :)
      I really cant answer the question as i am using the Orchestra Gold Edition and Not the hollood series...
      i love working with it but to be honest i do realize from time to time that the library is quite old! But then again, the Orchestra series is older than the Hollywood Series! What i heard and what i saw of the Hollywood Products is great!! :)
      The Most Important factor is ineed Not the library but the orchestration! Just Look at all those pieces out there done with ew Gold or platinum. Some sound very bad and Some Sound just Great! I even found a guy who did a mockup of the E.T. Theme with ew silver and it sounds awesome!
      The additional mice positions are Great! It gives your piece More room and adds Realism as you hear every Instrument from where they would actually sit and perform in a Recording Session!
      Hope i could help! Thx again for your support!

    Congratulations, really a fantastic job!
    I want to ask you some questions:
    1. Do you record each track individually with the midi keyboard, or do you use notation programs like Finale?
    2. How do you adjust to the articulations of the instruments (to obtain the "legate", the "staccato", the "crescendo" etc.)?
    3. Do you process each track directly in cubase, applying filters?
    Thank you!

    • @TobiWobi7
      @TobiWobi7  Před 4 lety +3

      Thank you!
      Yes, I record every track individually with my Midi Keyboard or Midi Controller! I don't use notation programs only in the end when I need to print out the sheetmusic.
      I change the articulations with the help of keyswitches! But sometimes I also just load a new instrumenttrack with a certain articulation.
      And yes, I do everything directly in cubase but I dont use any filters! Sometimes I EQ certain instruments here and there or I put a reverb on top of some instruments. The reverb I use is provided by my orchestra VST plugin.
      I'm glad you like my work!

    Man I really hope you do a tutorial on this stuff man. Cuz this is impressive as hell. East west's stuff is hard for me to work with. I've been using SWAM more for expressive stuff but the sound (while still impressive) generally missing something cuz it's all synthesized. I've owned east west platinum for years and I've never been able to get it to sound this good lol.

    I like your composition very much. Do you use different articulations/dynamics , or just mainly velocity? I also use EWQL Orchestra Library and it doesn't sound that clean and clear at all. Thanks

      Yes, of courese I use different articulations and keyswitches! It's also important to use the automations in order to give you pieces more dynamics!

      @@TobiWobi7 nice one! how long has is it taken to get to where you're at now? I think it's quite rare nowadays for films scores to have this kind of elegance/ flamboyance, strong melodic movements nowadays because of the dominance of the ZIMMER EPIC sound and heavy reliance on special effects: so kudos to you! Do you know much music theory? Also have you ever considered investing in a another library other than ewog? It definitely is a no bull-shit solid sound but you can get much better quality sample libraries that might do your brilliant scores more justice.

    • @TobiWobi7
      @TobiWobi7  Před 4 lety +2

      @@flatpancake2261 thank you! It means a lot! Yes, i know quite a lot about music theory but that doesn't make up for creativity. And more important is to know how to orchestrate your pieces :) I don't really think about an upgrade because on the one hand the new librarys are kind of expensive and currently Im just composing as a hobby so its not worth to spend all that money! On the other hand are the librarys just a tool to help me compose! In the real world out there I would print out the sheet music and hand it over to the orchestra for them to play it. My pieces are more like sketches, that give you an idea on how the pieces roughly sound :) Maybe in the future I will get my hands on some newer plugins.

      @@TobiWobi7 You said you started out doing covers/ mock ups, does this mean you listened to tracks and then wrote them out in daw or on musical notation? I'm trying to cover some pieces i like at the moment, although i'm starting to feel maybe i amn't learning anything if i'm just 'copying' the piece... i don't know. I suppose you are learning because you're having a greater appreciation of how the different textures of the orchestra come together. It's hard to find a way to improve! What was the next step for you after you had made copies of scores? Did you employ techniques you picked up on when making covers and tried to make your own composition ? i.e 'okay oboe sounds good with some slow pulsating strings, i'll do the same except change the melody? '
