At the very least don't make the same mistakes I did. Find out if there's a community college in your area and see if they have any affiliated universities that they have a credit transfer program with. Take your required course load through the community college before transferring to University to finish out your major. Also, go in with an actual plan. If you don't have a plan you're very likely to waste at least a semester if not multiple years trying to correct for this. If there is a particular trade you are interested in, look for a trade school in your area and try that instead. Worst case, you'll learn within a semester that you aren't cut out for that trade. Best case, you get your certifications within a year or two (depending on the trade) and you're out making money sooner rather than later. While the trades may get looked down on, they're still vital, the work is there, and the pay isn't bad.
When I was 14, I was so excited and looking forward to getting older and having more rights and freedoms. I don’t think this issue you’re having is very common tbh. I can't describe how accurate this one is. dude just described my mid to late 20s step by step, I even referred to my mid twenties as a quarter life crises
This describes me to a tee. I'm turning 27 in September and am doing one last "hurrah" trying to make a job out of my passions before going back to the customer service minimum wage hell. Worked three years in a grocery store during the pandemic, I just don't want that to be my life...
I remember my quarter life crisis. It felt like hell and not just the usual hell that was my previous job and spending time with my narcissistic sister. My 30s have been a huge step up because I realized that I Am an adult so literally anything I do Is something an adult would do. Society can't actually gatekeep true adulting. I'm free.
I’m not really understanding what it means to have a life crisis, like when people say quarter or mid-life crisis. I’m in my later 20s and I’m just chugging along, doing my thing day by day. Do you wake up one day and just start freaking out about getting older?
@@R0gueM It's sort of a gradual thing. When we are young, we are told we have to progress at the same level as everyone else if we want to grow up to have a normal, happy life. Everyone internalizes this at different levels but everyone has some sort of expectation that if they do x then they can expect to get y at some point. However, once you actually get to the legal adult phase of life, you start to notice that some things aren't happening the way you thought they would. You see other people going on to get into an amazing college or get a good job or buy a house or start and family and it's easy to fall into the trap of wondering what's wrong with you that you weren't able to do the same thing when other people your age or even younger already have. For me, I had to give up on my dream job for a variety of reasons and then I got fired from the job I did have due to the new owners purging all the old staff after the buy out. I had to give up on my apartment and move back in with my parents. So I hit my mid 20s, I had no place of my own, my new job was near literally hell for reasons I don't want to talk about, and on top of it all, my evil sister would come home from her big fancy state school and drop subtle jabs at me for not being smart enough or talented enough to achieve even a fraction of what she was doing. A quarter life crisis can hit at any time after 21 but 25 is the usual point as it's the point your brain finally stops developing. It than suddenly hits that your 10 year high school reunion is only a few years away, you'll be hitting 30 in 5, and you've essentially achieved none of the important goals you wanted for your future. If you've been able to avoid it up to this point, I very much envy you. I wouldn't wish that feeling on anyone. My advice would be to make some time to do things you enjoy. Taking time for a little self care can go a long way. Also don't be afraid of 30. It's actually not as bad as so many people think it is. It actually feels pretty good. Highly recommended.
@@Takisan111wow I feel like you’re the first person who actually articulated exactly what you feel about this issue, in a way others can understand (me at least) and it was so relatable. I’m sorry about your narcissistic sister. I have a brother like that and I keep being angry he’s so far along and he’s a fancy engineer and perfect. I had to move back in with my parents at 20 also. Covid happened at the same time my fiancé broke up with me and I was so mentally unstable that I had to move back in with them. I lost everything. Then the economy being the way it was, I am 24 and still live with my mom and step dad. I feel like a failure bc I compare myself to my HS peers and my YOUNGER brother. my mom is a narcissistic so I know how that feels. I’m a freshmen in college now and everyone else is like 17-22 and most people in the marching band are freshmen so it’s even younger. Plus they had no highschool experience socially so they are so much more immature than a normal college student. They act like they’re in highschool and it makes me not only feel even older, but it makes me feel like I am going backwards in life and I should be somewhere better. I was 20 when the pandemic started and then we came out of it and I was 23… I lost those years to a void and now I’ll never know what it’s like to have my early early 20’s in college. I was doing nothing and working in EMS during covid. And I didnt go back to college until after covid bc it wasn’t the same education without being there in person. Now I regret not just going through covid. But either way, I missed out on my college aged years and that normal college experience. Now I’m not an untraditional student being a bit older. But nobody can tell. I can though.

I'm 24 and I feel like I've been here a WHILE so what he said hit me hard. My crisis began at 20. Now I find fulfillment in making rap music, working out, smoking a little pot, and practicing various instruments while I save my money.

I’ve never really been about birthdays so I decided to stop having them and made the personal decision to stop aging altogether back at 29.. it was a good age so I decided to stick with it. Working great for me so far. 👍
I decided to go the other route and age faster. In my mid 30’s, I chose to always tell everyone I’m five years older than I am. This way I always look good for my age and I’m closer to retirement. It’s easier than asking Mother Nature or Father Time for approval because they don’t have to do anything. Their sitting back waiting for me to actually be in my late 80’s when the trick doesn’t work anymore because I’m too old for it to matter. So far it has worked pretty well. Life still goes on, but at least I look good, with less work and no need for plastic surgery. My sister and female cousins love it because it makes me older than them. Plus, it makes me old enough that as far as my career is concerned, I’ve paid my dues and it’s almost Mai-tai o’clock.
Honestly, if I was going to stop time, it would be 38. I was in great health, old enough to know better, and had met the love of my life. It was all downhill after 39.

My 26th birthday is next week and this is so accurate. Although I have been feeling this way since I graduated high school and realized all my peers seemed to have things figured out already( I know this isn't true but from my perspective it felt like it) and I had no idea what I was doing with my life and still don't.
I love that these videos have gotten to the point where Gen Z is firmly hitting the start of "real" adulthood. I know there's a lot of freshly about 25ers in here. I remember that feeling. Your 30s are FINE. 25-30 feels like a wild ride because you're literally finally seeing the world differently for the first time (brain science, look it up) and then when you hit your 30s it's kind of scary at first because you realize that it's suddenly ALL ON YOU. No one is going to say "aww shucks you're just a kid" in most any circumstance. But then you hit those mud 30s and it's just like... All this life experience you've had just... Becomes a new you. Like, it's still you but you don't feel this pressure you had before to be on all the time. You know how you look at people over 35 and think "ugh, they are just boring"? They aren't, they are doing "me shit". They aren't living for anyone but themselves. It's great. Now, I've already had my mid life crisis in my late 30s (thanks covid) so I'm looking forward to my "fabulous 40s) once I get my finances reestablished after my career change but your 30s and after are GREAT. Your body may hurt but your brain works
You still have your 20's and the first part sucks anyway, I lost the end of my 20s on the pandemic, and that made me, it seems a forever tomorrow late bloomer.
It's alright. Eventually, you'll hit the point where someone asks how old you are, and you have to stop and think, and then COUNT. ... Actually, I'm not sure if that's better or worse than the 25-crisis.
Having just turned 30 and seeing the full scale of my fellow 92 borns... if you make the right decisions then you can continue to play life as a game 😭 but no ones life is perfect, once you accept that it gets a lot easier
The 23 I set next to a work was complaining that him and his wife are going to do many weddings. I laughed and said your at the stage where everyone is getting married I'm at the stage where everyone is getting divorced. lol
I am so glad that I am not the only experiencing the quarter life crises. 😭😭😭 I turn 30 later this year and I swear it’s feels like I’m turning 70 instead. Everybody I know is either married or has children. Meanwhile, I have no kids and I’m afraid that I’m getting to old to be a mom. Everyone tells me that I’ve got time, but then again there’s a reason why they tell women to have kids on your early 20’s. I have a good job, but it’s a 9 to 5 and there’s a part of me that’s afraid that I’ll be stuck doing this for the next 30 years. I still have dreams about doing my dream job, but apart me feels like I’ve gotten too old and that I have too many bills to even attempt pursing my dream. Thankfully, I don’t have any really body aches or pains, but I am worrying about age and how much longer do I have to still be young and beautiful? Everyone tells me that I am, but I can still see the gray hairs and the crinkle lines at the corny of my eyes appearing. 🥺🤯 It’s just a lot and while I know that it’s all in my head…I know that I live my life however I want at whatever age I want, but I just really hate getting old and feeling like my life has no purpose. That’s exactly what the quarter life crises feels like to me and I can only imagine just how much it’s gonna be for me once I hit mid life crisis. 😬
Basically your 20s are the time to experiment, explore and make the mistakes that solidify into what the rest of your life is gonna look like....sigh, I wish I had saved more money and taken more naked pics of myself😭😂

Fellow '93 here. It could be worse. Just look at me, for I am turning *3 0* in *January* 2023. 😔
I’m not even in my twenties yet, this description fits me beautifully
Wow. This video hit home too many times in a row. I hate that I’m turning 24 in a month, and the one booze I can’t handle anymore is basically just any liquor.
Lmao, I actually appreciate this one cuz I'm going thru one currently lol. I'm 25 and all I can think on the matter is "So soon??😫" Finally clicking in my head that I cant just say I'm "a teenager running on spare time" lol
At least you're not mere months away from turning *30.* I'm there right now and I'd be delighted to have my 25 y/o body back. 😔
@@epaminon6196 Hopefully achievable for ya. If it helps, happy birthday in advance. But ur right, the grass is always greener, I suppose.
Come on, you still have 15 years of your young age!
That point in your life when your check engine light goes on
Honestly I have just accepted that I will probably be alone so I don’t disappoint myself because I don’t exactly know how to make new friends
That moment you realize adults are just kids with responsibilities
STOPPPPP. STOP REMINDING ME. my mother told me at 15 years old "You're halfway to 30" no context. Just that gem. Now when I turn 30, I'm going to remember that I'm 15 years from 45.
Me before 25: "Dang, I'm cut."
Me after 25: "How do I weigh 200 lbs, it's not possible!?"
At 32, 1 holiday weekend takes a week and a half to burn off.
This series is painful with how relatable it is. I remember my quarter life crisis and discovering that I couldn’t eat and drink what I used to, all my old classmates and my cousins getting married…
This hit waayy too close to home, it's time to stop scrolling for the night and go to sleep goodnight y'all 😭
Bro I’m 18 and Gen z. Student debt is scary af. I’d like to go back to kindergarten please.
edit: people keep telling me to drop out and do a trade or smth but i have zero interest in that lol. like ZERO, id honestly rather have a molecular bio and psychology degree(s) be in debt and like my job, than be a plumber or electrician just for the money and hate my job (said lovingly)
Don't worry bro it only gets worse🫠😖
Im with you :')
It’s scary we know, but it’s one of those things you just close your eyes and let it happen…
Like that one time with your weird uncle.
@@Sadkiller100 can't be much worse than the suicidal ideation i had back in high school
Just... don't do what I did. Picked a career I knew I would be good at but didn't do enough research into it. In the end, the boom and bust cycle of the economy f'ed me over. The 08 recession hit, and my industry dried up.
Yeah, pick something that is recession resistant.
YES finally the fringe gen zs got one. The accuracy of this makes me happy!!! Thanks for everything you do man. You make a lot of people just a lil happier every time you drop a new short ❤
I'm 24 and I feel like I've been here a WHILE so what he said hit me hard. My crisis began at 20. Now I find fulfillment in making rap music, working out, smoking a little pot, and practicing various instruments while I save my money.
I know i’m a little late, but if you don’t mind me asking, whats your job? I mean is it from any “passion” you got or a 9-5? I’m 20 and I really don’t know how to handle the “crisis” i’m even questioning if i chose the right major in college or not and i’m already 2 years in.
The one booze you can't handle anymore hit so close for me 😂
I’ve never really been about birthdays so I decided to stop having them and made the personal decision to stop aging altogether back at 29.. it was a good age so I decided to stick with it. Working great for me so far. 👍
Sounds good to me. Now convince Mother Nature, and Father Time.
@@MichaelSHartman they haven’t responded to my request for approval but it was a fairly recent decision so I remain hopeful. I’ll keep you posted 🙃
I hit 29 for the 12th time a couple months ago. It's great.
Being an adult is like folding a fitted sheet. Nobody knows how!
You...tuck the corners? Is it that hard? Seems self-explanatory to me
Line up the seams, fold it in half a few times in the same direction until it's the desired width, then roll it. Good enough.
@@JJaxx-bf9bm No, like- _folding it_ like a blanket.
You can do it, but fuck do you have no idea what your doing at first and then you just get annoyed at every other time.
And yeah, you _know_ how to do it. You just hate doing it. Especially if it's a queen sized one.
My 26th birthday is next week and this is so accurate. Although I have been feeling this way since I graduated high school and realized all my peers seemed to have things figured out already( I know this isn't true but from my perspective it felt like it) and I had no idea what I was doing with my life and still don't.
the only interaction where Gen Z and Millenials actually didn't insult each other
I love that these videos have gotten to the point where Gen Z is firmly hitting the start of "real" adulthood.
I AM 21 TUT HEEEELP, I AM GRADUATING MY BACHELORS NEXT YEAR I DONT KNOW ANYTHIIIIING
Lost my early 20’s to the pandemic so it feels like I went from 20 to 23 overnight 🥴 Turned 21 two weeks into quarantine
I feel you
You still have your 20's and the first part sucks anyway, I lost the end of my 20s on the pandemic, and that made me, it seems a forever tomorrow late bloomer.

The drinking from the bottle and the solo cup at the same time 🤣
I had this conversation the other day with a friend. Your description is way better!
As I sit here, firmly in my mid 30's, I see the Z's approach the gate of true adulthood. And I laugh, oh how I laugh with such dark vigor.

Very true
Having just turned 30 and seeing the full scale of my fellow 92 borns... if you make the right decisions then you can continue to play life as a game 😭 but no ones life is perfect, once you accept that it gets a lot easier
The 23 I set next to a work was complaining that him and his wife are going to do many weddings. I laughed and said your at the stage where everyone is getting married I'm at the stage where everyone is getting divorced. lol
God I'm turning 23 in a month lol. I'm getting out the drinks to mentally prepare for the upcoming years 😂😂
Honestly, booz sounds a lot better than a romantic parter in this day and age
A root canal sounds better from what I have seen. You can usually get over it within a year, and less painful than a divorce.
Facts lol 😆
Booz never tells you that it likes you really much but not romanticly.
Weed sounds better to me. Drinking makes me feel gross and cigarettes are too harsh....and we do NOT touch no no snow or meth, etc.

I didn't even think about how close I was getting to 30... shoot
I'm 22 and I'm petrified
It’s just a lot and while I know that it’s all in my head…I know that I live my life however I want at whatever age I want, but I just really hate getting old and feeling like my life has no purpose. That’s exactly what the quarter life crises feels like to me and I can only imagine just how much it’s gonna be for me once I hit mid life crisis. 😬
"Buckle up" 🤣🤣🤣🤣
"enjoy your 20's and 30's. Because once you hit 40, your check engine light comes on" 😆

“That’s it?”
“Wear a helmet? 🤷♀️”

Okay, the comment on finding "the one" was a callout I definitely did not need.
