I have been in the industry for 14 years and have operated Volvos and caterpillars and now have 4 742j john deere loaders and they are going a lot stronger than those other brands ever did
The cat loader will still be running long after the John Deer is melted down for scrap! Cat equipment lasts longer. ive been running equipment for 45 years and Cat makes the best loaders by far. There is more to loaders than drag racing.
I been in it as long as you and ran both....alot. deere and cat both good loaders. Prefer the deere, comfort and visibility As for reliability that's a toss up.

I now have 1600 hrs on my 2011 Cat 972H, it's faster than the 966H in the video that's for sure. Deere needs to re do the race with the new Cat K loaders, they are a different animal than the H.

Our Cat 928s (2010) can't seem to lift what they advertise, blow off hydraulic lines like it's their job, and spend more time in the shop than in service. Meanwhile, our Deere 544s (1989-1992) are still going strong with nothing but a random hydraulic seep here and there. Our JCBs came to us broken, and although they are interesting, they are proving quite unreliable. Our new holland tractors seem to be hit and miss, though the designs are pretty sound, just cheaply executed. I respect the capabilities of all of these manufacturers, but if I was to choose based on my years spent repairing them, I'd have to get a Deere.
GZA PLAY honestly I dont think most people hate CAT, it's just a matter of preference. My experiences haven't been the best with cat, but I know they do make quality products.

look the reason why john deere beat cat is because it has ride control. look at the cat and how it bounces up and down. now look at the john deere the ride control allows the bucket and the hydrawlics to move up and down and not the body of it. overall GO JOHN DEERE!!!!

John Deere and hitachi excavators are the same exact thing they are partners in their excavator programs and sell and build each other’s machines for example all of John Deere’s 0 turn excavators are built in Japan and some hitachi excavators are built in the John Deere factory
I´ve seen Cat 966Hs go way faster (in speed an acceleration) than this. There´s gotta be something wrong with this one. Just take a look at it. Nobody would buy a 966H if it really was that slow.

We rented a CAT 315 Excavator with a hydraulic thumb which is kinda the same as a john deere 160. but the CAT had no balls for thumb pinching power It was a beefy looking machine, but just lacked the balls that my man john deere has. We've ran only John Deere since we bought our first farm tractor in 1952, figured we'd try out other kinds, but I've learned john deere makes the best excavators in my opinion
I run all 3 Cat, Deere, and Volvo. I'd rank Cat #1 - comfortable and powerful.Volvo #2 - durable The Deere sucks. Don't like the bucket tilt design, too much spillage, very uncomfortable and sounds like a school bus so you know it's a gas guzzler

Renato B well now know you do nothing. John deere 844k AND J BOTH need rebuilds at 16k hours, cat 980h cat 980 g 1 rebuild 30k plus hours. John deere are garbage. I production feed in my cat and once in a while run a deere now only during service. John deere makes farm equipment, they should stick to it.

It may be faster, but a few shots and it'll be U/E.
You can shoot at a Cat all day and it'll still run.
This is why I like John Deere.
