Rush- YYZ Reaction - Hudba
If Geddy Lee is underrated, it's not by anyone who's ever heard him play.
Perzackly. LOL! It's not as if there's much musical comprehension required for realizing how much ass he kicks; just listen to him...
My thoughts exactly, well put. People who know Rush know Geddy's ability. Since she's new to Rush, I'm guessing most of the individual member praise she's seen in the comment sections have been for Neil - so the bass player is therefore 'underrated' by comparison, hehe.
RIGHT!!!!!! he is known by every one who is anyone as in the top 5 at the very least....lol
Geddy once joked during their synthesizer period (late 70s to early 90s) that he was singing and had all four limbs engaged playing Bass Guitar and working the pedals on the keyboards. And that if it were possible, he'd have that 5th limb doing something useful too. :D
all these 3 would have fit in led zep
Whenever YYZ ends, I immediately hear the chords for ‘Limelight’ kick in.
So true! I have listened to that album... so many times!
A small, but well spent, fraction of an otherwise wasted youth!
yessir
Geddy Lee is a HIGHLY rated bass GOD!
Absolutely ! Not only that, but if another instrument was needed, he learned to play it, and his vocals,....come on !
Bass and keyboard.
Yes but still very underated as far as recognized bass Gods go. 😁
It seems I need to let people know the above comment was a joke. I never met a bass player who doesn't know who Geddy Lee is!
#1 is accurately rated
JaDem Not so much anymore. Geddy's considered a legend, along with Neil Peart as far as virtuoso musicians go.
Now that you've heard the studio version, listen to YYZ Live in Rio. The giant crowd singing along to an instrumental. It is truly awesome. Please react to 2112 .
Live in Rio and Exit...Stage Left great concerts. Live in Rio better because the fans were so passionately loyal with their chanting.
@Heartstung Tom Sawyer at the very start. The crowd exploded like a bomb.
Agree 100%. It's the best way to answer that question, "how do that drummer's hands move that fast?" Plus it's maybe the best crowd reaction of any live vid I've ever seen.
@@markusantonio4866 Fun Fact: in Rio, "Tom Sawyer" is the theme song for "McGyver".
Spirit of the Radio is also another great one to get your brain to restart.
The underrated one is Lifeson, the guitarist. The way he gets that thing to SING, man...
Alex never get his due because the other two are essentially the best virtuosos of their craft
Ugh from 4:28 to 5:09 is just so gorgeous, and the legato on the way back to the main part. Lawd.
Yes! He is the only true underrated member of Rush.
Imo Alex is the difference maker. He's the one that makes the songs truly great. His guitar lines/tones always kick everything to the next level.
He's not underrated by his guitarist peers.
When it comes to bass playing Geddy Lee is arguably the GOAT.
No arguments here.
Like yer avatar, I wonder how she'd react to disturbing the priests...
Geddy got his inspiration from another underrated great, Christopher Squire of Yes. Absolutely phenomenal
@@williamvandenberg2295 And Jack Bruce & John Entwistle.
I will add Chris Squire to the list...but we could swap all four and be correct.
Now you need to watch the live version of YYZ - in Brazil
I Agree.
I am from Brasil and i was there.
Eu concordo, Sou brasileiro e estava la.
@@valkothxenoribas9715
You were there? lucky man, to be there, and watch them live, , , that would be great
Yess yess they do
Or better yet, the Exit Stage Left version. The drum solo in that version is delicious! Love Rush!
If anyone has been under-rated, it's Alex. Not in my book
100%
Alex Lifeson is the most underrated member of this band. He is a world class musician. If he had been with any other band. He would be a household name. It's not that Alex lacks talent. Just Neil and Getty got so much.
Bass player Geddy Lee is definitely NOT underrated. He's won tons of bass player awards and has been a huge influence on many next generation bass players.
Right, she's too new to Rush to make such a statement. Geddy's bass ability is well established and has been highly praised. And rightly so.
he's not over-rated...that's for sure
Indeed. With Chris Squire now sadly gone, legion of musicians and fans have placed Geddy in the number one slot with no questions asked.
"That bass player is highly under-rated"
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Nah little Sis....
Geddy Lee is considered by most, fellow musicians and fans alike, to be
THE BEST EVAH!!!!
I love that you did the studio version first...
Now, get ready to have your face BLOWN OFF by doing the "live in Rio" version of this song, as it is EVEN BETTER!
BE AMAZED!
YES, IT'S ONLY 3 DUDES!!!
AKICITA One of the best for sure, I’d say Les Claypool is also a contender for number 1
Finally a Rush reaction where "the bass player" is mentioned.
Rush songs: Spirit of Radio, Limelight and Red Barchetta are must do's.
trust me that bassist is not underrated
Nope, he certainly isn't ... he's known as one of The Best
Geddy is a God!! 🤘🤘
that's exactly what I was going to say... Geddy is respected by every bass player that knows of him
juan o'connor you said it brother
This song was robbed at the Grammys by a Police song. Unreal.
No one can resist air-drumming while listening to Rush....
Truest statement ever.
RIP Neil. Genius like yours will be missed
This was the song that allowed me to completely understand their music. I had always liked them but this song made me realize the genius of Rush. Rush are the masters of transition. Incredible transition is displayed in all their songs, but this song, without lyrics displays their transitional skills perfectly
3 guys all at the top of the talent tree. Phenomenal! Canada's finest!!🎼🎶🎵🇨🇦
Another great instrumental Rush is famous for predates this one by a few years & is entitled "La Villa Strangiato"
You definitely want to check that one out.
One of their most epic old school tracks from back in the day would be a song called "Xanadu"
I kind of like Xanadu too. It's the ringtone on my phone. 👍
JaDem • I have the Olivia Newton John version on mine. 😎
"Video game star trek galactical warfare with a rock music soundtrack." I love your descriptions.
We need more Classic RUSH on this Channel.
My favorite Rush song...now you're ready for YYZ live in Rio, hundreds of thousands of fans singing this instrumental! 😮😁
Such an overdone request. RIO goes nuts and jumps around for anyone. Exit stage left is far better.
@@MrAitraining - Overdone?... I don't remember her doing it yet, and when the channel is her "Reactions" why would an otherwise popular version of a video hold any less merit when it's about the viewer's initial response? "Overdone" songs (on these channels) are done for a reason.
Going into a band's "Best", most technical, or deepest efforts might not get a response from someone who hasn't processed the general feel of the group, and the LIVE version (in this case) definitely drives home the musicianship of THREE guys, unlike the edited Tom Sawyer "Studio Live" video featuring multiple clones of the band members. I don't think she realized what (or who) she was actually witnessing there.
@@MrAitraining We get it you think you’re cool
Rush= 3 fantastic musicians. Masters of their instruments. Yes more please"working man", "subdivisions","2112","freewill","spirit of radio" so many great songs.☮️
This is the first time I've heard this song and I love it!!!
You MUST watch this live in Rio! It's an absolute MUST! You will LOVE it!
I was 16 years old I went to Sam The Record Man and bought the album Moving Pictures a brand new release by RUSH. I had never heard any of the songs yet but had all of the other albums by RUSH. Tom Sawyer blasted out and I was immediately over whelmed every song after that was a masterpiece. I couldn’t stop playing it and then my mother came home and told me to turn it down.
Everyone taking exception to the "Geddy is underrated line", please, let's just focus on a Rush fan in the making, experiencing their outstanding music for the first time, and being able to appreciate their music so quickly with little prior knowledge of any history or accolades they have garnered over the years. ScribeCash, keep listening and enjoy the journey down the Rush Rabbit Hole.
All three are genuine masters at their craft. There will never be another band like Rush.
It's basically lead guitar,, lead bass, and lead drums. Three of the best at their instruments, second to none.
Rush Necromancer....their most underrated song ..truly strange but an utter delight
With a chaser of By-Tor and the Snow Dog, which is in the strange yet utter delight quotient. And most haven't heard it, for Rush were still Pups when it came out.
Spirit of radio
Exhaustingly amazing....I love your reactions. I can tell you are a musician, because you are really working your ears and tuning in to every detail, totally open and receptive to what each instrument is doing, it's really refreshing to watch..and Rush is THAT band...the one made for air-drumming, air-guitar, air-bass.
Awesome!!
YYZ is the airport code for Toronto, their hometown. The inspiration for this song is the feeling of excitement they would feel when seeing the YYZ tags on their luggage at the end of a tour. It would give them a happy feeling knowing they were going home.
Geddy is a machine. Saw Rush live twice and he sings, plays bass, the Moog foot pedals and keyboard. Simultaneously!
The emotion on your face is so genuine. I love it
Great video!!
loving your reaction and appreciation of this music, it shaped me when I first hear it first time around, wonderful to see it still has the same impact.. I am reliving that feeling through your reaction. Thanks
I love when ya hear your lil guy laughing in the background.
Makes you not just an L.A whatever dude.
Shows your real ,and I appreciate that
Working Man on the first album is a hard rock in your face sledge hammer. A must listen if you want to know Rush. Anthem would be another great listen.
You Rock!
I love your reaction. Power trio! Happy holidays.
Loving your reaction channel, keep up the good work.
I was fortunate to see them live many years ago.. Three fabulously talented musicians. Top notch...
RIP Neil Peart. Only 67. Greatest drummer ever !
Rush is amazing. I saw them play YYZ in concert many times. It never gets old. It’s three masters of music. I enjoyed your reaction!
The Spirit of Radio, Freewill, Red Barachetta, Camera Eye!
it's a three piece band! that's what makes them so impressive
Toronto's (YYZ) Rush transitions are phenomenal. Great song and love the epic ending to it. A creative bomb and just amazing. Amazing technical prowess and Canada's greatest band ever.
Yes! My favorite RUSH song. Watching now.
"You finally nailed YYZ?"
"It's ZED, and no. Neil Peart stands alone."
Yeah. As they're Canadian they to say Zed like the British, not Zee. But it doesn't really matter.
@@garyanning9731 He's quoting Archer.
Lmfao
Clearly an Archer fan !!!
Nice.
As it's an airport code, shouldn't it be Yankee Yankee Zulu?
RIP Neil Peart - The man who made me a drummer. And Geddy Lee.....no words
YYZ is is the call code for the Toronto airport.
Neal peart - on drums
Getty Lee - Bass
Alex LiFeson - Guitar
Alex lifeson
Geddy Lee is one of my bass influences. I've only been playing bass 38 years. 😆
So many awesome Rush songs. 2112, By torg and the snow dog, Driven, Farewell to Kings, Hemispheres and Cygnus X-1 all absolutely mind blowing!!!
ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS
RUSH!! yes! La Villa Strandiato is another amazing all instrumental Rush song I think you would really enjoy!
The spirit of radio, witch hunt, subdivisions
Ty for reacting to my favorite band ScribeCash!
So underrated when "YES" entered the Hall of Fame, they cheered that Geddy was bassing Roundabout.
3 Canadian dudes shredding it and changing music forever!
Seeing you rock out to this is a BEAUTIFUL sight! Next up Red Barchetta, Subdivisions, and The Spirit of Radio!
3 Rush tracks in 3 days, I'm subbing... keep going at this pace and it's going to be an enjoyable 4-5 months :)
You have to hear YYZ live in Rio!
It's a must! Great reaction!
Alex Lifeson is on Trailer Park Boys doing "closer to the heart". Pretty cool guy. And he did a tune with Bubbles and the shitrockers. Great guitarist.
That is Neil Peart. Pure talent, no trap programmed and press play.
Pure talent.
Can't get much more highly-rated than Geddy Lee. Definitely one of the greatest, and my inspiration for becoming a bassist.
Working Man 🤘🤘🤘
Cash, love Rush!! Welcome to the rabbit hole! Rush has soooo many great songs, your ears will love their music! I think the next classic song you should rock to is - “2112” it’s epic!!
Also, another GREAT rock band you should dive into is..
Pantera! You need to start off with their live performance from 1991 tour. The song, “Domination”
Rock on!!!
Your reactions are priceless. Always good to see a young one appreciate music I grew up with, and found compelling to the point where I had to listened to it over and over again.
Just look up Neil Peart and watch some of his drum solos over the years. The guy is, as my drum teacher used to say, "a monster."
😊
I was lucky to see them live about 20 yrs ago.. awesome performance live...
Geddy Lee is NOT underrated. ALEX LIFESON is underrated. If he were in any other band he'd be a legend. In Rush, he's the Third Tenor.
Edgar Winter - Frankenstein
(The live video *"Fankenstein . Edgar Winters . Group 1973"* is probably the most entertaining version)
Well done..... you identified the significant parts of the song.... Watch YYZ in RIO. 80,000 people jumping in rhythm is something to watch
Rush is the band that everyone should listen to if they really want to be a well rounded musician...
Rush....Spirit of radio
You got sooo hyped by this song! 😂🤣😂🤣 I love it!
Scribe
Believe me that they are awesome live! Rush rocked this song during the Time Machine tour in West Palm Beach. But Rock in Rio, Brazilian audience gotten into this song. Rush is awesome in live concerts!
My son is 11 and he plays drums. he was in total shock when he listened to neil pert for the firt time.
Make sure he watches videos of Buddy Rich, Billy Cobham, Marco Minneman and well, you'll easily get caught up in a tornado of drum vids but these guys are a good start.
This is me when I was first listening to them. Still holds up.
Congratulations, you've just been Rush'd!
Geddy Lee is the GOAT when it comes to rock bass players. Never underrated.
It's amazing it's only 3 guys, truly master musicians rush rocks!!!!!
2112 next. Its an epic inter planetary journey across time and space. 2112 will blow your mind.
I'd prefer she listen to the live 'All the world's a stage' version . When they play side 1 of 2112.
Excellent choice
I like how much you enjoy Rush!!!
Scribe: so refreshing to see a millenial reacting to music that is so far out of her perceived realm (meaning, why would a young, intelligent black woman want to listen to older rock n roll music that was geared to a largely white audience?) I am so glad you like what I now call "geezer rock" since I am a caucasian white male from northern Wisconsin and grew up with this music. This song was to showcase Neil Peart's drumming skill. YYZ is the three letter international abbreviated designation for Toronto, Ontario's international airport, which is where the guys of Rush are from. If you like this, try listening to 2112. You'll get your socks rocked off for sure. Thanks for this reaction Scribe and I hope you get to your 20,000 subscriber goal by the end of the year.
I'm so happy that you get Rush.
Great. You should react to "Rush in Rio" version of this song. The crowd is insane. "Whow do your hands move that fast? " it's Neil Peart!
I'm amazed that you of many CZcams channels , have been giving your response or take on songs and , yes comedy. I'd like to just thank you for not being narrow minded , as some folks are. Keep on what your doing. My genre of music is most all , but up to 2010.
LIME LIGHT
So glad to see that you found the music performed by Rush, before the death of drummer Neil Peart on January 7th of 2020. Your reaction that I see here is what I feel every time I listen to the song the first time and every time since this album came out 40 years ago was it? I'm so glad to know that I have so much more in common with you than the things that society would pinpoint about the differences between us.
Heavy improvisational jazz influences in this one.
Saw them 10 Times in Montreal! What You need to know is that Rush is a live band,That’s what music is all about!Where everything make sens!😃
Rush! One of the top 3 all time bands
Many of your questions can be answered by just watching yyz Live in Rio- the audience actually sings along with this instrumental! btw there are only 3 musicians in this band... can you say power trio?
Rock n peace my man
Geddy underated is the funniest thing I have heard in a reaction video...it makes my day. You should have done the live version in Rio.
Thx for doing some Rush. I love you reacting to all this great music I grew up with. Do some Earth Wind and Fire or the Tower of Power next. Two of my top five bands of all time.
Tower of Power would be a great reaction... What is Hip
This song is fire and I could tell by your reaction you feel it
The absolute best part are the facial expressions at the beginning. Funny. I think most of us did that when this first dropped.
Underrated = I am discovering Rush for the first time in detail.
Has been one of my favorite songs for almost 30 years. I always play this tune first in a new car. 🏁👍😘
MORE RUSH!!
This is three guys. 3. What's amazing is that they can reproduce studio version live. Both Alex the guitarist and Geddy the bass player, play synthesizer parts with their feet on synthesizer pedals on the floor so they can reproduce the music Live. One of the best examples is the live version of Xanadu, exit stage left. You would think there is no way three guys could perform this life and be true to the studio version
