For those coming to check if the new version is better I guess you will agree that this is the best
by some distance, bring back Howie G.
@@GeordieGuitarGuy, without a doubt, I think this line up was the best
The fact that they needed 2 vocalists to cover this as well as they did just emphasises the incredible vocal range Meatloaf (RIP) had. Absolute Legend. Fantastic energy in this cover and the twin guitarists were absolutely 'on point'
yes but my got they are amazing
Best cover of the song I've heard and I'm a die hard Meatloaf fan since 1977. Of course not many bands had the nerve to even try to cover this song even in a studio and these guys did it live.
The contrast of the two voices is great though
They dont "need 2 vocalists". The 2 guys take turns in all of the songs and some of the others sing too. Thats just how the band works.
@@RobbieFitzgeraldor do they need 2 vocalists for every song? 😎 (Not saying they do, just that your comment begs the question)
EDIT: it does seem that one of the two main vocalists does the main "gritty" moments and the other does the smoother bits .
Simply put, there are tribute bands and then there's The Classic Rock Show.
My god, there is no way I could sit through that performance. I’d be on my feet and acting like I was 18 again - bloody awesome. RIP Meat, you were a huge part of my teenage years ya legend.
same...57 here.
I have seen videos of a few of their shows. Some audiences seem to go right off - And others are like this............Dont understand it.
❤❤
Certain venues don’t allow you to get up onto your feet (i.e. Sheffield City Hall) is one of them@@glenchapman3899
I was, had to apologise straight away to those behind saying “you can’t sit down to this one”. They didn’t, and I seen the man about 20 times!
If they don't play at Least, Two or More, Meatloaf Songs at My Funeral, I'm Refusing to Go !!!
The problem I often have with Meat Loaf covers is that most people that I see do them are just singing the songs. Very few capture the raw power and emotion of Meat Loaf's voice. This cover did it right. So much oomph behind the vocals. These are songs that were written like an opera. Each one is a play just as much as a song. It's not just words. It's a role. You have to put the emotion into it, and these singers did that so well.
If you couldn't tell, I'm a huge Meat Loaf fan.
You Are so right
Preach, said it all about the great Meat Loaf!
Yep they managed to take all the life out of the song
@@musicfixed6951 Well they are a general cover band, not a Meatloaf tribute band, so I think they did pretty well. And lets be honest who is out there that could realistically recreate the sheer power in Meatloaf's voice.
You took the words right out of my mouth
R.i.p. meatloaf. You guys did this song justice and killed it!!👍
This is really good and it's not easy to do
Its brilliant and perfect
The BEST cover I’ve ever heard
And Jim stienman WHO do the music
This is the greatest and most honoured tribute to Meat Loaf, ever.
Damn straight. Every intonation, every beat every note. Spot on.
I think you are right.
You know you are one hell of a singer when a cover band needs two singers to sing your song the right way
Ok, I am 62 and generally hate covers because I lived through the originals...
They killed this. Cheers from Toronto. ☮
Yeah...Cheers from Copenhagen..!!
RIP Jim Steinman. We'll miss you dearly. You wrote all of Bat Out of Hell and Hell II, not to mention all the great singles from Bonnie Tyler, Celine Dion and more.
Many good men...
Steinmann even made Air Supply cool! That man was a musical genius!
Don't forget part 3 as well
never even knew he died....one of the greatest song writers ever.
@Alfie and Laynee I hope someone told him and Jim about this awesome cover long before they died. Certainly, a fitting tribute to the artists.
Rip Meat Loaf and Thank you for all the great music. This is a monster of a cover, awesome done👍
I note, however, that this band needed TWO singers to cover Meat Loaf's vocal range.
Jim Steinman Firts!
@@christiancacibauda5512 I can do it!
They also had the best line up they've ever had. Don't know how many times I've just sought this performance over and over again through the years. Outstanding. Each one.
I’m 52 and almost choked up watching this. This is how a Meatloaf song should be done. These guys really honored him with this version and the orchestra.
Where can I see more of this band?
This is the bands channel...
RIP Meatloaf. These guys have made a fitting tribute to your great talent.
I Clicked On This By Accident Looking For More Meatloaf ....... But ..... THESE GUYS ARE AMAZING ! Great Vocals But Meatloaf ... IS THE SHOW ! lol
I just stumbled on this - Bat Out of Hell is my favorite album - i wore it out in my teens-- i know every minute detail of the entire album. This performance just blew me away. Absolute musical perfection and presentation. Meatloaf and Jim would be proud. Bravo !!!
R.I.P Jim Steinman... Thank you Jim 🤘🏻 🦇
Nobody can match the raw vocal power of meatloaf but this was the best attempt I've ever heard! RIPBrother!
I simply cannot imagine a better performance of this Steinman/Meatloaf Masterpiece, and by a mile this is my favorite online! It is just EPIC in every way from the incredible, world class musicianship to the perfect vocal performance. It wouldn't surprise me at all if nothing was even touched up in post production. I always watch this if I need a lift in my spirits and it never fails! Bravo and standing ovation!
RIP Meat Loaf and Jim Steinman! 🥲
I've honestly never heard a cover of Bat Out of Hell until now, and I never want to hear another one for the rest of my life. This is perfection
I couldn't have said it better.....this was perfection of a masterpiece!!!!
Ted Finnigan yes it seriously is 👏
You should watch the Bandgeeks!
Amen to that
Go see the musical, it's even better than this
RIP Meat Loaf. Thank you. 😥😢
This is not just Meat Loaf, It's Sirloin Loaf. Fantastic.
Best Cover ever done.. Rest my case-:)
Thank you Jim Steinman and Meatloaf for giving us this masterpiece.
When I went to see the classic rock show this year they performed this song and rrudey dud such a good job of singing in it❤❤❤❤
takes two to handle meatloaf's prime day vocals.
Theres two lead vocalists in the band so of course theyre going to take turns singing. Watch live versions of Meat Loaf, theres usually 3 people at least singing it with him.
@@RobbieFitzgerald I think he meant it takes two different singers to reach MEATLOAF's vocal range at his prime. MEATLOAF sang his lines alone at this prime, and had female+male vocalists also :)
@@simonecreviari Watch concerts from those days. He never sang it all or alone.
Wrong, Craig!
Both those guys are singing in the same vocal range. Either one of them can carry the lead vocals by himself. The fact that they chose not to might have something to do with the camaraderie of the band. Every song they do looks like they are having a great time, and the entire band is a TEAM.
This particular lineup of the band was my favorite of all the ones I am aware of.
They aren't allowed to go back and re-do flubs like the artists did when they recorded the songs that these guys are doing LIVE. That takes one-time perfection, or the flub is preserved in the memory of the audience forever.
I love folks coming in here to simp for these two singers. They are very talented. They are also ... I dont know their names. No one does. No one ever will. And no one ever will. Thats how special they are.
Meanwhile everyone knows meatloaf name and will enjoy his music 50nyeara after were all gone
RIP Meat Loaf
The world lost a musical lyrical GENIUS, Jiim Stienman. You will be missed
Yep, he will be missed,,R.I.P Meat Loaf too
Brits are fortunate to enjoy the talent of "The Classic Rock Show" live while we here in Ontario, Canada are blessed with "Classic Albums Live". So much music, so many talented singers & musicians. Thank you, thank you.
All the key flavours of the original but with just enough seasoning and spice to make it their own and play to their strengths, awesome.
What makes them THE BEST COVER BAND is they stay true to the original note for note without adding their own spin.
RIP Mr. Aday. Thank you for the memories.
There was nobody like Meatloaf. Loved them. They all were great. This group in great as well. Love them. Maybe He Had accepted Christ and never see’s Hell.🙏
Rest Easy Maestro Meatloaf , Maybe Gone..BUT Forever Loved and Forever Rememberd.....
CZcams can go to hell with putting commercials smack in the middle of legendary songs like this 🤬
RIP Jim - Thanks for the musical trips to hell and back.
I finished high school in '77 ... at 6'4 300 lbs (38"waist,58"chest) hair down past my ass, I lived like I was 10ft tall and bullet proof. I ran with bikers, chased all the women and pillaged their villages. This album came out, and it literally sang my life. It is unequivocally my favorite album of all time. (Many very close seconds). I am so grateful that these guys do this song the justice it deserves. Thanks... glad I found you !!!
Wow! Can't understand how the audience sits through this, even though they are most post 50! You guys, nailed it!
I am a Meat Loaf fan and can say NEVER THOUGHT ANYONE COULD DO HIS MUSIC. AMAZING. AMAZING THANK YOU.
Candy Benoitbelanger not too many tunes that can send chills down your spine Free Bird is the only other tune
I wasn't sure if anyone could recreate that sound and was a lil cautious about this video, but I checked the comments to see if it was worth it.
You made your case, and goddamn was it worth it.
Abso-fucking-lutely *killed* it. I'm still wiping away tears.

Now RIP Meatloaf. He rode out like the Bat out of Hell, he was to those pearly gates.
Holy crap.. I am a died in the wool Meat loaf fan.. This was awesome.. How have I nopt seen this.. Bloody well done. OK - Just thank you. you guys must be amazing live, .
The chap with the beard has got an amazing voice. So much like Meat Loaf
That might be the best cover song I have ever heard in my life. EVER. I am floored.
Can't get better than this.Take a bow guys.
I wish Meat was still alive to see and hear this, he would be banging his head and becoming a fan as well. OMGGGGGGGG, Yas killed it. I am currently on my knees bowing and worshipping you all.
I only hope Meatloaf got to see this before he passed. I wonder what he would have to say about this. I got choked up watching it.
Best cover of BAT OUT OF HELL I ever heard. Great band, great voices. A tribute to the master!
First time I've ever heard anyone even attempt a Meatloaf cover and they killed it!
literally
I just love people's stories glued to music rock and roll. Is like reading brothers and sisters. It gives true meaning to all of this. Music lover till death. When I die I wanna be a chord.
Bat Out of Hell was released on 21 October 1977. Happy 45th!!
Oh my god, today of all days, I'm crying like a baby. RIP Meat you're a star forever.
The two front men singing with so much passion...Fantastic band and show, Just awesome.
Everyone on that stage are talented AF.
They are both AMAZING..... I saw Ricardo Afonso (second lead singer) in We Will Rock You in London. Both lead singers have got STUNNING voices and both very pleasing to the eye.... ;-)
@@F1KillerQueen Yes, pleasing to the ear and eye.
@@SilentHotdog28 very pleasing to the eye
Who wants to go and see ageing original bands without their full line up and pay extortionate prices when you can go and see the best cover/tribute band in the world who sound better live than any touring band?Get rid of COVID and get venues open for business again to watch this absolutely amazing show.
Rest in Peace Meat Loaf, just heard the news and I'm so sad 😥
Incredible. The best performance of this song I’ve heard, second only to the loaf!
Jim Steinman would be absolutely proud and blown away!
RIP Meatloaf!
No one believed in the Loaf .... Except for Todd Rundgren who kindly performed (with Utopia) all the music on Bat Out of Hell. Thanks to Jim Steinman for the music, to the Loaf for the powerful vocals and to Todd for his support and his belief of this "sinner before the gates of heaven!"
Steinman was a musical genius and this is possibly the greatest epic rock song ever written. And this was a perfect cover of this.
I refer to Jim as the "Mad Genius". By all accounts he's an odd fellow, but damn, the man can write some great music.
Jim Steinman an Meatloaf would be proud to hear this
Sadly Jim Steinmen passed away this year on April 19th, he was a brilliant musician and songwriter!!
Guys - I'm at your Malvern show this evening - after today's sad news really hope you are able to play this or anyother Meatloaf song tonight
They did - and what a fabulous sendoff
Rest In Peace Meat Loaf.. We will miss you.
That's how U Fkn do it!
🤟
R.I.P. Jim Steinman 🙏
I saw them last night and after seeing live music for nearly 40 years I can honestly say they are some of the best musicians I have seen, every song was note perfect and they had so much energy.
He sang this in London last Tuesday, absolutely fantastic!
hes dead like 5 years ago
Meat and Jim would have loved this. RIP
OMG! I mean OMG! This was FANTASTIC!!!
So brilliant it ALMOST goes beyond belief! However to fully recognize Meats natural talent, it took TWO wonderful singers to superbly cover this song from the 1970s. A GOLDEN ERA for rock and roll. Great to see that this style of music NEVER DIES! FACT. 😁🤣👍
They are both brilliant singers and I think either of them could have sung it on their own - they have powerful voices - but they were able to use them both because they were both there! Who wouldn't want to sing this unforgettable song in their positions? I'm a big meat-loaf fan too, by the way.
This particular Classic Rock Show band line up is outstanding. Outstanding drummer for flawless timing; the frontmen; the two keyboard virtuosos- one older one younger; the lone lady Jess and not least the two leads and one bass. I think their unassaiability is their musicianship. Howie left later & that's a sadness the band could have done without. Even though, director James Cole is an outstanding leader. There are another one or two we're still to see and hear - doing WHO & Freddy Merc' s Raphsody and even the elderly gentleman in front doing a line of Daltry.....brilliant covers band. Possibly best I've ever heard.
Rest in peace Meatoaf. Reunited with Jim to make another Bat Album. Keep em Rockin!
I challenge anyone to find a better performance of "Bat out of hell". This isn't a simple cover, it is it's own performance of this classic.
You're dead right !
Bat out of Hell rocketed to the top of the charts in Australia before any other country took notice.
Most intense performance I've heard in a very long time rips through the soul like a bat out of hell
That guitar solo 🔥🔥
Rip big fella 🙏🏼❤️✝️❤️🙏🏼
THIS KID CAN SING SOLO AND MAKE A NAME FOR HIMSELF.., FANTASTIC VOICE HE HAS.., ROCK ON KID...!!!!!!!!!!!
Kid???? Which kid? Alphanso is 43 years old..lol...yup he does have an amazing voice.
I have watched this video a hundred times and I never get over how great a job you all did. #amazing
the one and only version I listen to
“Then like a sinner before before the gates of heaven I’ll come crawling back to you”. Beautiful lyrics by Jim Steinman I love that breakdown it touches my soul RIP MEATLOAF and JIM STEINMAN THANK YOU
That is one of the most enjoyable 10 mins of my life. Magnificent
I have never heard a cover band do a Good Meatloaf cover, let alone Bat Out of Hell!! This group is great!!
lost count how many times I've watched this, absolute fucking perfection !!!!!
This band will be a hit in Vegas for sure 100%
*6:07** Wow! Just wow🔥*
Exactly WTF
Mesmerizing!🤣😆👍🍺
Still listening this one a few times a week. Just can't get enough. Genius! The people who heard that live are blessed.... So sad the shows are not in the Netherlands 😭
ben het helemaal met jou eens nobby, geen verkeerde coverband
You're not the only one! I saw this live by Meat himself, twelve times in Ireland from 1990 to 2013. This is the ultimate cover song! The passion is there, all of it!
Idd, zou gelijk kaarten kopen iig
Ja zsm de plas over!
Ook ik luister deze opname regelmatig terug. Ben niet van de gemiddelde coverbands maar dit overstijgt zelfs live het origineel. Ook groot fan van Jess Harwood!
Seen "The Classic Rock Show" several times and this was the best lineup.
Two guys needed to cover Meat Loaf's vocal performance :D RIP Loaf
The more I watch this, the more convinced I become that using two leads for this performance is a style choice rather than a necessity. Ricardo Afonso could undoubtedly do the vocals for this piece without assistance, but the harmonies between him and Alex Dee, as well as the two of them with Emily Jollands, enhance the piece quite a bit.
I will also mention that there was an old MTV interview where it was mentioned that, even in the original recorded version of Bat Out of Hell with Meat Loaf singing, multiple takes were needed because his ability to hit the final high note was 50/50 at best. Meat Loaf's recorded version is a masterpiece, but it was never something that could be consistently delivered.
Also, The Classic Rock Show clearly knows that, when playing Jim Steinman's music, the piano always leads. Not even the more recent iterations of The Neverland Express remembers this, and it detracts from those live performances.
The Classic Rock Show's recording here is nothing short of magnificent.
1 of the great rock ballads... deserves this attention! RIP Meatloaf - before his injury there was no one better! - these guys nailed it!
WOW!!! THE...BY FAR THE BheardEST COVER OF THAT SONG I've ever . A matter of fact..I'd even go as far as saying it's the best rendition of that song I've heard
Absolutely Fantastic!!!
This performance is so underrated. It’s simply unbelievable the sound on this cover. Grammy deserving performance !
Just imagine Meat Loaf singing songs like this one ON HIS OWN, singing his lungs out for forty years with some help in the duets, but never in his non-duet songs. He was and is a true legend, and as a fan I find it hard to listen to this version where two male vocalists have to split the song up because otherwise they wouldn't have a voice left at the end of the song. Still, a reasonably nice tribute to the timeless music of Jim and Meat.... ;-)
Its also about the range of the singing too. Here we have one guy handling the higher notes and one handling the lower notes. In the original one guy does all the singing and has that mesmerising presence of a true frontman into the bargain. Makes you realise how good Meat is / was.
I am an unreserved straitlaced 'old git'. This song, its original and this cover, are exceptional pieces of music. This is what stirs the blood, ignites (or re-ignites) the fires and opens up the world. This is immortal MUSIC.
This ist from you the best version from this song. Thank you !!!!
Being a Meatloaf fan all I can say is "WOW"
One of the best songs ever...and you do it...
Another great bites the dust RIP m8
I keep coming back to this for some reason 😊
This is absolutely the BEST cover I've heard for this song! Actually choked me up. Longtime Meat Loaf fan, part-time pro drummer & keyboard player.
