    All the negative reviews on Lowes didn't read the manual. Got mad, called all kinds of names and returned it saying it keeps shutting off. It kept me from ordering one.
    Now I want one for my chainsaw. Especially with the 12ah coming out soon.

    Super cool that Ego sent you one! I'm enjoying these reviews, I've just been getting into the Ego system, and these have been quite helpful.

    Thanks for the very informative video review. One thought, if you have a multi-head or trimmer your instinct is to rest the motor unit on its end, this bends the cable on the back and will cause it to break over time. Saw a landscaping pro who had this issue. It would have been better if cable connect was an L design or connected from the bottom. Is this backpack unit worth it overall for pros and home owners with back issues or those with very large yards, I think so.

    Seems nice. I read that EGO has a line that they call "professional" where you can plug it directly in without the use of the battery dummy/adapter. I just bought the ST1613 trimmer but i don't think i will be getting a lot of other stuff. It's just too expensive here. The trimmer was about twice as expensive as in USA.

    Am thinking on getting one and seen many reviews that had the same issue of not being plugged in all the way. I have a 580 and love it along with other items.

    Great but its for commercial business not for somebody with just one home like me I use it for around the house, so I’m not using it for long enough. Of time to really get all that heavy.

      @@TechMadeEzy it’s a great tool. But I really don’t get tired when holding it. My property is just not big enough to justify needing a tool for that purpose.

      It's nice because you can throw a 12 amp hour battery on your back for that extended run time with folks that do have larger properties

    So many, most of them, reviews on amazon slamming this because it stops all the time. So, pretty sure every one of them just did not push it all the way in. Shame it getting slammed for no good reason. Probably even says that in the manual!

    I think I got a bad one. I have reseated the connection so many times, but will only get a few seconds of run time. I tried multiple batteries and tools, but they all shut-off no matter how well the plug is seated in the battery adapter.

      @@TechMadeEzy I called Ego today and they informed me to take it to Lowes (purchased there) to see if they could demo it for me to ensure I am using it right. I mentioned your video and ensured them I have tried 4 different batteries and 5 tools with the same result on all of them. The response to that was the warranty doesn't start until 30 days after purchase, so I have to return it to Lowes since I am only at 21 days. I returned it and will have to wait 2 weeks before I can try again. I suspect a faulty battery adapter but guess I will never know.

    Have you performed a comparison of the " residential" BH1001and the "Commercial" BHX1001 backpack link units? From what I can see from photos of the 2 products, the BHX1001 has a substantial waist strap, similar to the backpack blower product. While I can't tell if the BH1001 even has a waist strap or if it does it is not nearly as good as the BHX1001 and backpack blower waist strap. Having the nice padded waist strap allows the weight to be shifted more to the hips and off the shoulders and upper back which I believe is better for carrying heavy weights for long periods. Of course the BHX1001 costs more and only has the 2-year commercial warranty, even if it's for residential use. But I would not expect there to be a problem with the backpack over the 5 year period anyway.

      Hi Jerry no I haven't, only had this one. It's nice especially with a 10ah battery, lasts forever. Thanks for watching 👍🏻

    • @CookieManCookies
      @CookieManCookies Před rokem +2

      The commercial BHX1001 is better, I wouldn't worry about the warranty, I plan on using this once a year for leaf blowing in fall, and maybe 6 times a year for edging with a trimmer. When I got rid of 430 gallons of leaves on my property.. from two big trees, it took four 5-amp hour EGO batteries to move the leaves into a pile. I also don't use a nozzle on my EGO blower cause I want max volume (CFM), with turbo engaged, it's plenty fast enough to make leaves fly off the pavement/ground/grass/rocks. Took 2 days for my wrist to heal up... I think if I had used this guy, the recovery would have been much faster.

    I see metal D shaped rings on the front of each of the backpack shoulder straps. What are these for? Is there a strap to connect the tool to the backpack, maybe to one of these rings? Or somehow to take the place of the shoulder strap for these tools?

    Does it feel balanced? When I hold an Ego blower the weight of the battery kinda balances it. If I hold a blower without a battery it nose dives.

      I like it yes it's lighter in the hand, and I've used this for other tools, with larger batteries 12ah for string trimming etc

    What's the difference between the bh1001 and the bhx1001? I'm definitely interested but don't know the difference in the 2 models... Thanks in advance

    • @TechMadeEzy
      @TechMadeEzy  Před 3 lety +1

      Hi Crispy The BHX1001 has a removable harness that can be interchanged with the BAX1500 battery pack. The harness on the BH1001 is not removable. This allows commercial crews to have their own individual harnesses

  • @NaughtyGoatFarm

    So if you are using a string trimmer with this backpack, can you connect the string trimmer to the backpack with a strap to use like a harness?

    • @TechMadeEzy
      @TechMadeEzy  Před 2 lety

      The heavy battery would go on the backpack link and the dummy battery would go on the string trimmer making it lighter
