- Learn how to play Wheels Of Steel by Saxon.
Wheels of Steel is the second studio album Saxon. Released in 1980, it was their first album to enter the UK Albums Chart, peaking at number 5, and is their highest-charting album in the UK Albums Chart to date. The album eventually went on to achieve Gold status in the UK.
The lessons covers all the main guitar parts.
I recorded this in Standard tuning but the original was recorded a half step lower.

Oh this takes me back..1980 as a 14 year old Saxon were the first rock band I ever saw live on the Wheels of Steel tour, I remember buying this single at the record shop recording it and making my dad play it in the car....Great days and great choice Geoff.
Hi Jon, great to hear from you. That was the days when owning a record meant something special. Thanks for commenting.
My first gig Also Jon ,Middlesbrough Rock Garden Matinee show as I was 16 and still at school….Wheels of Steel tour ….Blew the roof off…my mate left halfway through to visit the nearby ear infirmary where they said if your ears are still ringing in a week….it’s permanent 😂
@@Grundy74 I know how that goes , I have been suffering from Tinnitus for years. I think I would have waited till after the show though. Then again thats why I have Tinnitus. 🙂

Well done Jeff, another good one. I saw an interview with the Saxon guitarist. He said he was heavily influenced by Cat Scratch Fever, which makes sense when you listen to it.
