- I heard about a Vintage style tea room in Bishop Auckland that looks like one from the 1950s and hopefully doing a breakfast to match so I just had to try it , was it as good as everyone said ?
Wow now that’s what I call a breakfast looks yummy
Thanks for your comments much appreciated
Hash Browns weren't introduced as a breakfast item in England until the 1980's. But looked like a nice breakfast
It was very nice thank you
Hashed brown potatoes' were already known here in the Victorian times but they seem to have first popped up as a specific breakfast item in the 1980s. McDonald's serving them for breakfast from 1982 onwards.
Thanks for the info northsouth and for commenting much appreciated
@@northnsouth6813 Perhaps but not on Breakfast and i'm sure not the frozen Horrors.
What a great review really enjoyed Thanks for all your hard work
Thank You Greg for watching
Brilliant video again - always entertaining 🎉
Thank you BuddieNE
OK stop the vlog ⛔😟HASH BROWNS😂1950's British Breakfast! Bubble & Squeak or at a push fried potatoes. Deffo fried bread. Flat white, old eggs. On looks, grand breakfast £10.95( 1950's price 3/- maybe 3/6d)Always nice to see the face of the cafe/tea room. Proud of her offerings. And rightly so. It always looks better looking backwards to our happy days. The future can be scary 🫣Allan&Family
Hi Allan thanks for the comments and had a few comments about the hash browns and I would agree they are not part of 50s culture , Pleased you liked the video and you are spot on about the future .
Lovely breakfast, bacon looked good, nice and lean. Proper teacups are a nice touch. Great video as always.
Thank you 😋
As someone born in the early 50's, I was probably at least twenty, before I knew what a hash brown was and still hadn't tasted one. I honestly don't think hash browns appeared in The U.K., until the 70's, maybe even later. I don't see them on a 50's breakfast, as I don't think they were available, or even heard of at that time. I know you like hash browns and you're not one of those that question if they should be on a Full English Breakfast? That's a question for another day, I hope we can both agree that they have no place on a 50's, Full English Breakfast, as they were neither available or known here in the 50's. All the best and keep up the good work.

I think the background music might have been Buddy Holly or Everley Brothers in the fifties?
Hi Janet and thanks for your comments and wow you have super hearing , I was in there and didn't notice well done nobody else noticed
What's different about this 50's full English breakfast to any other full English breakfast you can get?
I wondered that. Not sure, mate.
Thanks for your comments Craig , I assumed there might have been a difference with it being a Vintage Cafe but I suppose the ash browns spoiled that otherwise nothing different but was very nice
@@thedurhamvloggerI agree, it did look nice regardless
The 50s Breakfast shouldn't have Hash Browns.
Excellent. A 'Noah's Ark' - 2 of everything.
Thanks for your comments Mike much appreciated .
@@thedurhamvlogger you're welcome Sir, keep it going 👍
Makes me peckish 🤗🤗
It worked then pal
@@thedurhamvlogger I’m going for one in a short while Starving
Enjoy Bro
Shame they aren't 1950's prices.
I’m with you on that one dirk , thanks for your comments
SORRY HASH BROWNS ARE A AMERICAN THING IT SHOULD BE A TATTIE SCONE ❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Hi Jennifer many thanks for your comments they are appreciated and yes you are right and I do prefer the American style better .
Where was the fried bread?
Ah thanks Kev for the comments and you are right as I do love a couple of slices
milk in tea. Not a fan. Milk in coffee MUCH BETTER.
Thanks for your comments but I don’t drink coffee anyway , and tea only with skimmed milk .
Before i watched this i was like, o.k 1950s Breakfast, so it absolutely should not have those awful grated frozen potato abominations, Hash Browns don't belong on a Full English definitely not on 50s Breakfast, why even pair good fresh food with this frozen crap, i mean if anything, Bubble and Squeak, or even saueteed potatoes ( not Trad still better ), in some places, potato cakes and Oat cakes are Traditional. Anyway end rant, the rest does look nice, but there is an Elephant in the room.
Thank you Neal for your comments they are appreciated , and yes a lot of people are saying the same next time im in Fifteas Vintage cafe I will see if they could make it more original . Thanks Kev
